They should not remake it. It is what it is. Move on. I love the mini series: Obiwan, Ashoka, Book of Boba Fett. Create a universe with those and keep Favreau at the helm.

Don’t remake the Rise of Skywalker, Remake the Last Jedi. Make Luke the Jedi he always was, give more story to Snoke, and even parts of Exegol and Emperor Palpatine at the end, that would make the Trilogy make more Since!

I was always a fan of the EU and never liked that they suddenly decided none of it mattered now, but I rolled with the punches, but what really hurt here was how they portrayed Luke. I don’t know who’s idea it was to remake him like this for the movie but, it needs to be changed. I haven’t been able to enjoy star wars that well after that.

Firstly I would like to say that I was saddened by the first sequel movie because it came off as a ripping off of “A New Hope”, they just turned a planet into the Death Star. I have read the Timothy Zahn trilogy of books that introduced to the Star Wars universe two villains Grand Admiral Thrawn, and the clone Jedi Jorrus C’baoth, and when that was not the storyline of the sequel trilogy I was quite disappointed. That being said there were elements of the Disney era movie’s that I found enjoyable, and I all honesty I liked the last of the three “The Rise of Skywalker” to be the best of them. The best movie thus far to come out of the Disney era has been Rogue One hand’s down. The show’s that have come about starting with The Mandalorian (Phenomenal)and then The Book of Boba Fett (Season two needs to be made), Ashoka (Fantastic)and the Accolyte (Gone but not forgotten, needs to return), and I haven’t seen Skeleton Crew as of yet but plan to, have put a fresh face on the Star Wars universe and brought characters to live action format that were only previously depicted in animated shows ,comic books, and novels.
It’s my opinion that Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau have picked up and held high the torch that J.J. Abrams dropped after Disney wrested it out of George Lucas’s hands.

“Somehow Palpatine’s returned”. Remember that? That’s how you destroyed Darth Vader. That’s how you took Episode 4, 5 and 6 and flushed them down the toilet. You made Anakin’s sacrifice meaningless. And don’t get me started on Luke and Han.
Disney is really screwing this up to this day. You don’t fix films with supplemental content you just write a good story and a complete film. They know they screwed up by having different directors write scripts separately. Reintroducing Palpatine 15-20 minutes im to ep 9 was crazy and insulting to fan’s intelligence. I truly believe they’d be better off calling that trilogy or at least the last two films a farce and retconning them completely. Just say the last film didn’t exist or didn’t happen and go from there. They did so much damage with their shortsighted approach to a cohesive trilogy.

The special effects were great but that’s it. And the character of Finn needs to be played by an Irish guy with red hair like it was supposed to or make him an alien. But somebody said hey you know what the Star wars universe needs more black people This diversity crap is ruining a lot of movies lately.
If they are going to remake ROS, then they should address the real problem and remake Episode 8. That is the worst Star Wars movie ever made and made Luke into a unlikable character. Redo TLJ and then Episode 9 doesn’t have to suck.
I would love to see a story about Palpatine’s life. That could be great. It will be just great to see everything that happened behind the scenes of the the Sith’s rise to power, you know
How about one upping this and retconing TLJ which broke the fanbase, Ryan Johnson deserves to be blacklisted from directing anything that is an established franchise again after all the cringe that was thrown out at random
Remake all of the Abominations and give us the Sequels we deserved! The Zahn Trilogy. (We know you screwed us out of our reunion, so it will have to be CGI, but that is true of ANY Star Wars movie we will pay to see now! Get rid of Kennedy and start making Good decisions again!
It’s obvious that there was no preliminary planning for a coherent Ep7-9 story as they are reverting to comics to fill in the gaps and hoping us fans will be suckered into buying them. How they could stuff the trilogy up so when there was abundant now Legends era post RoTJ material to work with is unbelievable yet $ wise it worked as us fans of the now Legends EU expected something along those lines. As for a Rey trilogy (10-12) I’ll pass as I’d rather an old Republic story say Darth Bane or even the Plageuis novel or Lords of the Sith novel brought to live action. Lucasfilm would likely stuff those up as well as The Acolyte had so much potential to be the Plageius story but it was anything but that especially when their promotion was all about it being about the Sith
