This same thing happened to me and my family when we went to Disney World in Orlando. It was very interesting to see the ride with the lights on. A team member eventually came to rescue us, and we got to see the behind the scenes of the ride. It was very cool to see especially after growing up visiting this wonderful place year; after year and getting on this ride.
Many years ago, I got evacuated off of Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom. I don’t remember much except that we got to see backstage and it was really cool! This was before cell phones, so yes, I’m that old!
About 40 years ago, my husband and I rode “Ellen’s Energy Adventure” in the Universe of Energy. It was a dark ride through a jungle diorama with dinosaurs, as well as four large-format films.
Halfway through, the ride stopped and we were stuck. After awhile we had to leave the ride and walk to the exit. As we walked through the diorama, the dinosaurs were still moving and roaring! It was exciting and scary at the same time – to be walking among dinosaurs!

We were evacuated from Splash Mountain at Disneyland but nothing broke down when I went to Walt Disney World.
