Two arrests have been made following the discovery of a deceased man in a car near the Disneyland Resort earlier this weekend. Authorities confirmed the arrests in a new report announced Wednesday night, according to KTLA 5.

The incident unfolded on December 8 in a residential neighborhood in Anaheim, the home of Disney’s original theme park resort. Officers responded around 9 p.m., discovering an unresponsive 25-year-old Kenneth Swets.

Swets was inside his vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Medical experts working with the Orange County Fire Authority responded quickly, declaring 25-year-old Swets dead at the scene.

Two people, a man and a woman identified as Rashaadd Eugene Royal and Jennifer Camacho Mandap, were arrested on December 11. According to authorities, the two knew Swets. The two were arrested on suspicion of murder, though no other information has been released at this time.

The neighborhood where the shooting took place lies to the west of the Anaheim Convention Center and just southwest of Disneyland. Disney has called Anaheim home since its first theme park, Disneyland Park, opened in 1955. The resort continues to be one of California’s leading tourism destinations, providing jobs for millions.

The neighborhood in which the fatal shooting occurred lies immediately to the west of the Anaheim Convention Center and southwest of Disneyland.

An alleged neighbor of Swets, Kathryn Kelly, says she heard multiple “booms” while inside her home, telling KTLA 5 immediately recognized them as gunshots.

“My daughter got up and I said ‘That was a gunshot’ and then my dog ran into the backyard and I’m thinking that my dog is going to get shot,” Kelly said. “I didn’t hear anything else until my son came and said ‘Mom, there’s crime scene tape next door.’”

Kelly described Swets as a “super good young man” who was part of a “wonderful family.”

Homicide investigators said the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

Inside the Magic sends condolences to the victim’s family. Anyone with information about the murder is encouraged to call Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
