Disney is already off my list of places to visit. That’s sad. I’m glad I was able to get my fill of Disney during its truly magical years of the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and the first part of the the new millennia. Since that time, I’ve seen quality decline and prices increase. My family and I no longer see the value in a Disney vacation. If Disney continues its trend of monetizing everything, we will not be back. Universal Studios has been, and will be our vacation destination of choice for the foreseeable future. They’ve got it right so far by not nickel and diming every last dollar out of their guests.
No surprises at Disney any more. They cater to the Wealthy and their “think tank” will come up with anything that can bring in more money. People need to start thinking, “Is Disney really worth going into dept. to visit???????
Disney will continue to push the outrageous prices and insane restrictions because we allow it! We pay for it. It doesn’t hurt their attendance rates and they’re making $$$$ off of us!! The only way it will ever stop is if we stop going. The place has become ridiculous, overcrowded and way too over built!!
I am not sure this would happen, people spend money on Main Street in the shops and eateries whilst waiting for rope drop. Only if more money could be made by doing this than currently made in the stores pre opening would this be a consideration, and personally I cant see that it would.
I hope that they don’t do this. Some things should remain free for all to have/use. But, I doubt that this would stay free forever. As someone already stated. This is a business and, like all businesses they’re created to make money. So, I wouldn’t’ be surprised if eventually they’ll charge for rope drop. It would be sad but, I think that this could occur soon. Yes, people would get upset (and for good reason). I think that one thing that would really upset people (which would be a massive understatement) is if they charge for transportation. meaning that you’ll have to pay to use the busses, friendship boats, sky liner, etc. That would really piss people off.

That’s called ‘how to run a business’. Businesses don’t last if they don’t make money. Period.

If Disney monetizes rope drop, that will likely be the final straw for me. I’ll never return.

Wow how brave of you!

Just freaking quit going there. Save your money! You need it more than woke Disney does.

There’s a reason this company is the poster child for corporate greed.
