So are the parks to become Robert Iger World and Igerland? Robert Iger has done more to ruin the parks and the spirit with which they were envisioned and created, and true Disney fans are not celebrating this takeover. Walt Disney Parks were Magical, now they reek of corporate greed.

    1. I totally agree with you. No one has the right to alter Walt Disney’s genus! Robert Iger is greedy and EVIL! Save the children!

      1. Rita Frank

Agree! He has a whole block in NYC ??!!! Guessing that he’ll have the prices at Disney unreachable even more so . It’s a slap in what Walt wanted! Walt’s vision was for everyone to go to Disneyland and World. It has already become unaffordable for many people. NYC will just increase being able to go there at all He doesn’t care about guests! All he cares about is $$$$$ !!!

      2. D cahilll

What is wrong with Igor n Disney. Living to a $$$$$$ state when Florida is so much cheaper nutty libs

    2. GSW

      👍🏻

    3. Ryan

Just naming a building after him.

    4. sam

pretty sure they are going with Woke Disney World.

      1. D cahilll

Too woke I guess they want to mess up
        The business more

    5. You are right Em. I was thinking same thing as I read the article. Sad. Maybe Igor needs to come up with some of his own imagination to keep the company going. Well if it’s changed to his name and flops in a couple years it won’t be Disney. Not sure why the Board thought he was such a good choice for 2nd round. And he gladly took the millions in pay. Greed like most businesses today.

    6. Grumpyswife

Agree Em. This report is almost blasphemous.

When a football coach doesn’t win games, the team fires them. The Bears fired their coach in mid-Season this year.

Eiger and his pal, Kathleen Kennedy have a proven track record of abysmal failure. From the parks, to the films to Disney+. As a stockholder, I have been thrilled to see the company’s value more than halved by his lack of leadership.

It’s called Show BUSINESS, not Show ART. Destroying assets and trashing capital investment is a criminal level of ineptitude. So, instead of firing these failures (Eiger and Kennedy) the Board of their friends allow them to continue their destructive reign and name a building after him??

And Delaware trashed Musk’s contract because he made the company more profitable than its wildest expectations. This is indeed a SICK world especially in light of Eiger’s recent sale of 80% of his holdings in the Company.

Hey, Norman Pelz! The rest of the stockholders REALLY need you.

    1. Jay

      Who’s Eiger?

  3. DrD

Everyone wants to blame Rachel Zegler for the upcoming financial disaster of Snow White. But WHO hired her for the part of Snow White (a character who was described as “having skin as white as snow”? Who deleted the love story sub-plot? Who made the prince irrelevant to the story? Zegler was not Taylor Swift. She was a newbie with one financial flop to her credit.

Who allowed Kennedy to run a studio taking one of THE most successful film franchises in history down a women’s empowerment propaganda vehicle which destroyed its fanbase?

And after flop after flop, why hasn’t she been FIRED?
How much audience does Disney and Lucasfilm need to bleed without a course correction?

My last visit to the Josh D’Amaro’s Park Division was awful. I’ve been in roadside has station washrooms which were infinitely cleaner. The parks became EXACTLY what Walt Disney was disgusted by when he sat on a bench and thought this is not what a park should be.

Hey Board of (friendly) Directors, take a page from the Apprentice and tell them both, “YOU’RE FIRED!”

    1. David

You’re mad about the casting of a fairy tale character. In response to an article about an entirely different subject. Because the actress is not white enough for you. Maybe worry a bit less about Iger and a bit more about yourself.

      1. sam

pretty sure if the description of the character were anything else, it’d not be an issue.

        1. David

Or you could try *not* being racist….

          1. VirgiNYa

It’s always the “race card” – right?

          2. sam

so I’m racist because I’m pointing out that the actress chosen for a character with “skin as white as snow” is actually Hispanic.

is everyone who noted that Mikey Rooney is not Asian racist? is everyone who noted that Alec Guinness is not Arabian also racist?

I’m just trying to understand the rules here.

      2. Stevn

The WOKE ideology stems from this disgusting filth of a “CEO” and his ruining of what Walt Disney had originally intended. The casting of characters that is NOT in line with the original story is the complete wrong move to satisfy those that get their feelings hurt in the playground and mommy’s not around to protect them. Guess what: this world isn’t fair and it sure isn’t easy. Snow White should be just that: a white princess. Get over it. I’m asian but apparently, referring me to what I ACTUALLY am seems racist which is complete stupidity. So yes, the casting may no have anything to do with the article but in actuality, it does when you add all the other little WOKE and idiotic nuances that this “big name in entertainment” has to offer. No wonder why more and more pieces of “art” are flopping faster than they can shake a broken black witch at. This article likes to honor this “legendary” CEO when he did nothing but fill in for his predecessor. He’s in it for the money, not the honor and dignity of what once was. RIP classic Disney, where it was safe for everyone back in the day.

    2. Andrea

I think it is a disgrace and very disrespectful to Walt Disney, who created beautiful movies, shows and parks, for FAMILIES to enjoy, and as Walt said a “A place where everyone, including adults can enjoy and be kids again!” Walt didn’t become a greedy, woke, loser! But ceo Iger is just that! He created all the evil and bad things going on in the parks, changed the parks, and its all bad. He only cares about his pocket and taking over everything, don’t the investors see the losses in movies and parks, or are they blind and stupid! I don’t visit Disney parks anymore, but I use my timeshare and just go to Universal park!

    3. Janny

You’re worried Ms. Zegler isn’t “white as snow?” Unbelievable. 1st – she has nothing to do with the topic. 2nd – best be careful – your blatant racism is showing.

  4. Anon

This is so ridiculous… How can they buy a building when they’re hemorrhaging money? The View is part of the Disney Franchise? This makes me sick to my stomach… My Disney Girl heart has been crushed so many times… I pray for the day when it will once again be Disney Dreams versus the current Dismally Disgusting Disney… 😢

  5. Go woke go broke and non entertaining. The middle class is totally priced out of being able to stay at and visit the parks. Gotta love the $379 we love to cater to the wealthy bypass the line all day add on. With the $379 plus daily park ticket that’s $540+ depending on the season. Walt’s spinning in his grave.

    1. Kristen Francesco

      What does go woke mean?

      1. Janny

Great question! What is woke? Who gets to decide its criteria? Disney is reflecting our times as they truly are and not standing on the sanitized 1950’s version people seem to cling to. Remember Father Knows Best, Leave it to Beaver, My 3 Sons etc were fake representations of the times. How do these folks know how Walt would react to today’s world? Yes, he was a visionary, but he didn’t have his head in the sand. He would ride the tides of today’s world. Walt lived through unions, mass genocide, the civil rights movement, the rise of women’s rights… he knew there were talented g@y directors, producers, actors/actresses, writers, crew, staff… he didn’t live life with his head in the sand. He recognized their creativity, talents, humanity. Walt employed people from the LGBTQ+ community and YES… was even friends with many. Stop putting him on such a self-righteous pedestal and realize the man was human. Maybe even…. GASP…. “woke.”

        1. Stevn

The term “woke” is currently and appropriately defined correctly as the awakening of a wicked and perversely evil spirituality that is devoid of humanity and the spiritual goodness and righteousness that God has created. So, to exactly point out the usage of the term woke in society, it represents evil-minded people who are against “sanitzed” values that shape who we are as being humans in a broken world searching for God and yearning for Him. The woke ideology endorses things that are evil at their core and it ultimately breaks down the family structure and strips people of their identity in Christ. They are stripped of everything good and what’s left is a shell and an empty hollow for demons to fill and use as puppets to lead others astray. Disney reflecting our current times is a shame. Our times are more and more evil. We desperately need to return to when things weren’t as evil. Father knows best, Leave It To Beaver, My 3 Sons, and many more, are TRUE classics. Thos were the stories that your grandparents would talk about. And, they had a lot of positive things to learn from. Not, you have endorsements from LGBTQ+-$%@×÷…… and there is NOTHING positive about that wrong mindset. No one in 50 years is goingnto talk about that to their kids or grandkids or even great-grandkids. Walt WOULD be turning in his grave. What mass genocide did he live through? Civil rights was a good thing as it embodies what America stood for, that ALL men were created equal by God since the beginning of time. Walt may have employed people from the LGBTQ+-$%… community because since the civil rights movement happened, no one could discriminate based on anything because it’s NOT about the color of your skin but based on actual talent and skill. I could hire anyone from any background as long as they can perform their job to the best of their ability WITHOUT imposing their ideals on society, no matter how positive they may be. Walt Disney wasn’t woke because he believed in a vision where FAMILIES could enjoy entertainment together. Bob Igor is self-righteous and only wants money for promoting evil and destroying the family unit. Thank you for this comment as you are just exposing the failed part of society where it’s learned how to be a victim and not use logic and reality to think about what is really going on in this world. I’m sorry that you want to play victim and want to be treated as the bully in the school yard where, you pick on others cause you want to but when confronted with an accusation, you are quick to point at the other person and say that they started it when you clearly are at fault, all the way around.

          1. Spank You Very Much

It’s funny when a cult member gets triggered.

        2. Gary

Apparently you must be one of Walt’s family members since you knew him so well? At least you think so…that’s good for you though isn’t it!

    2. Ryan

There is increasing wealth inequality. As the middle class becomes poorer, Disney must shift more to catering to the wealthy.

  6. Hal

I agree with all of these comments. How could the building have been named after Bob Iger without Igar having some input into that, which seems unbelievably arrogant to me.

On top of that, Bob Iger really isn’t the success that they’re making him out to be. Because of Iger, not only has the Disney company had flop after flop with their movies, but they,ve butchered and gutted their parks, especially the Magic Kingdom, where there is very little left of Walt, except for facades, and that is a terrible disaster.

Bob Iger seems to me to be nothing more than a ravenous wolf in sheep’s clothing. It doesn’t seem that he’s interested in truly making Disney World great, but rather using it as a propaganda tool to indoctrinate our youth, and that’s a betrayal to Walt Disney himself, Walt’s legacy, the children of America and even the world and America, not to mention the Disney company’s stockholders.

  7. Jeff

    Go f–k yourself. Hi Bob!

    1. Walt

      The best comment on here!!!!!!!!

  8. Adam

Things in California must really stink when NYC is better place for corporate headquarters.

    1. DaDesigns

I guess California was to expensive for Disney too. Born and raised there but left so I could afford to retire.

  9. Corporate greed is America’s cancer! No one has the right to alter Walt Disney’s genius, his name and legacy! Robert Iger is greedy and EVIL! Save the children!

    1. james

tru dat. but NY has corporate tax too. So it ain’t money.

      1. james

I was commenting on the America’s cancer part, not on the CEO. We are no better than the mafia that runs Russia now with Trumpty Dumpty Inc.

        1. Linda Marie Gonzalez

Biden did such a great job destroying this country that ” Trumpty Dumpty” has nothing left to destroy. President Trump is the best president ever!

          1. Stevn

            Totally agree!!! 😀

          2. Spank You Very Much

Complaining about corporate greed while simultaneously supporting Trump. That right there is hypocrisy at its finest. The cult mentality is alive and well indeed.

        2. Aunty Polly

I’m willing to bet money that Trump takes credit for Biden’s economy when he takes over. He’s already admitted publicly that he can’t lower food prices as promised. His history of not keeping campaign promises is legend.

  10. Mike

“Sheer f–king hubris.” What, exactly are “legendary” Iger’s “monumental” contributions?

Is it buying Lucasfilm for $4b and then destroying the IP so that after 10 years, he still hasn’t made that money back?

Is it also buying Marvel and running that so far into the ground that the only profitable film recently is the one making fun of Disney?

Is it installing a successor and then undermining that successor when he actually raises the stock price?

It is making an in considered vanity comeback only to half the stock price?

  11. Kanto

just another bad decision by Disney.

  12. Rroe

This fiasco is just another in a long line of outrageous miss spending that we the public will see more price increases at Disney to pay for this. Iger is totally in the pockets of the Disney shareholders and could care less about guests. Disney is now the playground for the rich and once again the common folk will have to go to the local Carnivals for any entertainment. Thanks Bob Iger for screwing up Walt’s vision. You only care about yourself as is seen in the new, “Robert Iger Building”

  13. David C

Of course Iger wants to move headquarters to New York. He’s a network hack and always has been. He HATES Walt & Roy and all that they stood for, their ideals, and accomplishments. He’s jealous that he’s nowhere NEAR the talent of people like the Disney Bros, George Lucas, Stan Lee, John Lasseter, or Jim Henson. So What has he done, gotten rid of them, or destroyed anything they’ve done. He said it himself, Only IP is allowed now. That means no original ideas will ever come out of the company that invented the word “IMAGINEER” while he, and those who follow in his footsteps, are there. Heck, he killed Snow White and the building that was built to let EVERYBODY know that the company was built on the shoulders of that movie, is the building he’s running away from and he has the hubris to name it after himself! Even though he’ll lie and deny that he did. He’s the freaking CEO, you don’t name a new headquarters building without the CEO’s APPROVAL!He presided over taking a stock that was almost $300 and tanking it to under $100 and hovering around there for months, with no sign of great improvement. That’s “legendary” alright!

  14. Walt

Bob Iger is evil and the board is complicit. It is appropriate that the Gozer is in New York city.

  15. Anthony

The Walt Disney Co. has been a California establishment for a hundred years. To uproot the corporate side across the country – My humble and simple question is – Why?

Oh, I’ll take a wild stab at this: It’s a vanity thing! Iger is thinking about his own legacy that he’ll leave behind, by removing the corporate side and be even more disconnected to creative side of the company. This is “Succession” where Iger is Logan. But who plays Shiv, Kendall, and Roman in this dysfunctional family? This company is loosing its identity is a place of Imagination and Creativity. As it becomes far too corporate, and eventually spins itself into the ground.

  16. David

With 47 square miles of WDW and a huge revenue stream of tourist in Orlando why not move there? That is a profit center. They just need more strategic corporate sponsors for rides and such to re-develop but, keep the same spirit in place. Thinking of EPCOT > educational entertainment of what could be tomorrow through science, engineering and medical. I miss the original vision of EPCOT CENTER.

    1. There isn’t a corporation that wants to be associated with this piece if crap.

    2. VirgiNYa

Because Disney wants to move to a Blue State and get away from Governor Ron DeSantis, who made them pay taxes on the land.

      1. Wendell

Smart move. For all the negative talk about Iger, DeSantis is far, far worse.

  17. Apparently Bobby thinks he is better than Walt , a person like him has cost Stock Owners Millions with failure after failure and putting his name on a Building should’ve been put on a Outhouse

  18. Patrick Donahue

Why is the Disney company still letting the racists on the View allowed to be on the air?

    1. Matt

Dumb at times, but hardly racist. Can’t exactly be considered racist when your #1 is a Black woman lol. I’ve never heard them say anything disparaging about people of color.

      1. Wilfred

Holy catfish, Batman!! Did you really just infer that it’s impossible for them to be racist, just because Whoopi is black?? AND THEN, straight up say that disparaging comments are only racist if they’re about people of color?!?! This is a super scary comment, especially because I’m sure there are so many more actual racists, like you, out there pushing the same lies. Your comment itself is literally racist.

        1. Wilfred

Racist Matt, I really hope you see these comments and change your ways, but if not, maybe it will convince some of your fellow racists to reconsider their views. “It’s only racist if you’re talking about people of color” and “She can’t be racist, she’s black!” ARE RACIST STATEMENTS!! WAKE UP, EVERYONE!!!!

          1. Spank You Very Much

Racist Whoopi is the best kind of Whoopi. It gets more ratings. And believe me, the show hasn’t tanked in the ratings by a long shot. Still going strong. Keep speaking your mind, Whoopi! There are no rules anymore!

      2. Jonathan

He’s claiming they’re racist towards white people which is laughable because it is produced by white people.

  19. B Smith

Is there no end to this man’s ego? Walt Disney was a genius. He created animation as a serious film genre. He brought nature documentaries to television. He created, from scratch, the concept of theme parks and made them a place beloved by generations of families. Iger doesn’t create, he destroys everything he touches. He and Kennedy have destroyed Star Wars and are close to doing the same with Marvel. It has only been saved by “The Merc with Mouth”, swearing his way through the story, while making crude jokes. He is destroying the parks by pricing them out of the reach of most people. He’s destroyed the hotels with staff cutbacks and lower standards. Iger wants to make Disney political. They are a theme park and movie company. I presume the name change to “Iger World” will be along soon.

  20. Anne

Does Bob Igler hate Walt Disney or something? He’s destroyed everything Walt built just to build a throne for King Iger and shove woke crap down our throats and corrupt our children.
We can vote with our wallets. Don’t allow Iger to get your money. You need it more than he does. Boycott Iger, and boycott Disney. Go woke, go broke.

  21. Jose Luis

People this isn’t Disney corporate headquarters this is just their NY campus that they are merging all of their employees together. The Walt Disney Company is still in California.

  22. john

Putting this “ headquarters” in New York is just a revenge play to the state of Florida’s governor who fought back against Disney’s Woke politics by removing their Reedy Creek tax and regulation exemptions when Disney’s then CEO decided to get into woke liberal politics rather than run a business. He was subsequently fired. Bob Iger’s name should never have been on this building.

  23. Kristen Francesco

🎢 Bob Iger’s Legacy: A New Building Amid Growing Injustice 🎢

Disney recently named a corporate building after Bob Iger to celebrate his leadership. But while his name is etched in stone, the legacy built in the parks is one of exclusion and discrimination.

Veterans who served our country and now have PTSD: denied. Children with cancer: denied. Individuals with debilitating conditions: denied. Reports have surfaced of people with incontinence disorders being told to wear diapers to visit the parks—an unthinkable and inhumane response to genuine medical needs.

At the same time, Disney is funneling resources into making the Premier Lightning Lane the priority for those who can pay, leaving behind the very people DAS was designed to support. The parks have even begun removing benches, stripping away crucial resting spots for those with mobility issues or chronic pain.

This is not only disappointing but also appalling. Disney should be where magic knows no boundaries, not where accessibility is traded for profits.

Bob Iger and his building may stand tall, but the reality is a stark contrast for so many. Veterans, children, and countless others deserve better.

    1. K

      Agreed.

  24. Dave

Disney is infamous for its many mistakes over recent years but moving the hqs to NYC and naming it after this eegit is by far the biggest mistake of them all

  25. K

Yet Disney cannot pay fair wages to all employees and excessively rewards a few.

Iger is not a Disney, Ellison, Gates, or Musk: visionaries of creating something new.

Iger is an employee who knows how to “turn” money into “profits,” stack boards, and appease shareholders.

Gluttony comes in many forms, and God-like egos of humans mean little in life outside of physical presence.

Disney created something, and subsequent “employees” merely added or detracted from Disney. No name but Walt Disney needs to be in a building.

  26. Michelle C.

No don’t change Walt Disneys name

  27. Matt

Glad to see Iger celebrated and honored for his wonderful contributions to Disney. He took the parks and the company from the old, tired, worn out past and brought them straight to the present and prepared the company for the future. Healthy growth and a very nice return for many of us long term investors. Hopefully whoever takes over for him in 2026 continues Igers legacy, one Walt himself would be proud of.

    1. Steve

Said no one ever. When I take over Disney and usher in the Make Disney Great Again era, I will be unwinding and reversing every decision Crooked Bob ever made in a policy of De-Igerfication to erase his legacy. Disney under me will go back to making every decision by asking “What would Walt do?” like it did for decades after his passing and be frozen in the 20th century where it belongs, catering only to Disney purists and traditionalists and surviving on the Disney name alone. It’ll be like Card Walker, Ron Miller, or Michael Eisner came back.

    2. Spank You Very Much

To paraphrase Willy Wonka, “So shines a good comment in a weary world.”

  28. Zilma A Osle

I can understand (to a point) why a building in NYC. This is a location where Walt and Roy Disney did some negotiations and some of the audio for some of the movies before the 70’s. Plus, Disney has been creating plays/musicals. So, I can understand a building in NYC (to that point only). Still, I’m a bit saddened that they’ve spent (who knows how much really) a ton of money on a building instead of using that money to pay the Cast Members better, use the money for maintenance of all the rides/attractions, get better food quality, build buildings in Epcot that make sense/relates to the original reason Epcot was built in the first place, etc. I kinda miss Michael Eisner. At least under him the parks were cleaner, the food quality was better, the maintenance of the rides/attractions was much better, etc.

  29. Ed

Iger is a self-righteous, corrupt, liberal who wants to feel at home in NY which is like sodom and gomorrah. Disney is no longer a wholesome family business. Profits at any cost and evil liberal false morality are his goals. Lower class and even the middle class cannot afford it anymore.

  30. Robdom

It was Michael Eisner who revolutionized Disney! All the great attractions were under his direction. He also brought back successful animation!

  31. Dis fan

The view sucks, and Iger is a POS, he destroyed Walt’s legacy, too much greed and pedos galore, Disney employees have been arrested for child trafficking in the past

    1. VirgiNYa

Because Disney wants to move to a Blue State and get away from Governor Ron DeSantis, who made them pay taxes on the land.

      1. Janny

Disney has always paid taxes. They didn’t live here in central FL free of charge. btw – living in central FL, I also know that Disney gives back to the community – Orange, Osceola, Polk, and Lake Counties. They share their solar energies. They help our hospitals. They help our schools. Disney is trying to rectify the wages and health benefits for their cast members… Disney and the unions are trying. Disney had its own autonomy but that didn’t mean they didn’t contribute monies and taxes to the state of FL.

    2. Jonathan

      That’s a blatant lie.

  32. Janny

Bob Iger has done everything he can to restore Disney from the Chapek years. Chapek had no regard for the cast members at Disney, from office staff to animators to frontline resort/park cast members. Iger is no fool and is having to clean up the mess Chapek left behind. He is moving the Corporation forward. There’s nothing wrong with that. It would be great if the Lake Nona Project could be reinstated. I live in central FL, have a son who is a cast member, and this project would’ve solidified corporate and creativity staff here in FL. It would be a massive boon to the economy here. DeSantis and his backward thinking put a stop to this move, but hopefully it is temporary. Let ‘tiny D’ run off to the next presidential cabinet post and leave Disney alone. Disney is probably the largest employer here and has the biggest impact to our local economy. Disney does give back to our communities (Orange, Osceola, Polk, and Lake counties). Odd that DeSantis is allowing Universal its own autonomy without question. Universal, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Legoland all had the same response to DeSantis’s GAY stance, yet Disney became the focus of his homophobia. We’re praying that once he’s gone, maybe the Lake Nona Project and its increase in jobs and housing will be put back in place. This was Iger’s long term goal and hopefully, he hasn’t scratched it and forgotten about it. We need the growth of the company here too.

    1. Eric

Chapek was just another soulless bean-counter and good riddance to him, but don’t try to revise history: Iger spent tens of billions of dollars (that he didn’t have) trying to acquire the hard work of other studios, and Chapek was the one desperately trying to clean up HIS mess. Both of them neglected the original studio and the US parks, leaving Pixar, Japan, France, and China to to carry the load and keep the company afloat.

  33. Jack

This is the most narcissistic move made by Iger yet. The stock is still below value, with little sign of recovering. The only reason to move to New York City is to be in a woke environment. SMDH!

  34. RandyC

This is an abomination, naming a building after Bob Iger. I could see a new restroom being named after him, but now a new office and studio building. Iger said in an interview that he and Walt have a different vision for the company? Ya think? Walt inspired, built and created. Iger destroyed, demotivated and ruined. Walt built trust, Iger lost trust. This disgusts me to even read this article. Regarding Chapek and the Lake Nona project, Disney was off and on with that project for years. The final straw was not enough of their creative talent was willing to move from California to Florida. Disney conveniently blamed it on DeSantis, but Disney had already declared that project a no-go. I hope Disney’s new CEO in 2026 promptly sells the Robert Iger building as one of their first decisions. Only one more year of Bob Iger.

  35. Jennifer L.

Iger needs to GTFO. He did enough damage the first time around and never should have been brought back. He lacks the ability and vision to create a path for organic success by building a product that will appeal to the customer.
Is Michael Eisner busy? The company has been on a steady decline since he was ousted. Colossal mistake.

    1. That Guy

Good idea. Michael Eisner thrived on buying off the shelf carnival rides and dressing them up a bit to call them Disney rides (Primeval Whirl, Triceratops Spin, and MANY more were in the works), and Iger convinced the board to approve $2B of expenditure to build Galaxy’s Edge on both coasts and build the largest Disney park in history in Shanghai. Hmmm…you think Eisner would have done that? Absolutely not possible. He was a cost cutter beyond all cost cutters, before Roy got him pushed aside.

  36. Joann

What a self-serving circle jerk this is. First, justifying the move to NY with “Disney stuff has happened here.” NYC is about Iger’s ego, and it’s meant to be a middle finger to Ron DeSantis. How short-sighted can you be.

    1. Wendell

A profoundly justified middle finger. DeSantis is a straight-up jackass.

    2. That Guy

Agreed that Desantis deserves to be snubbed, but if anyone is ignorant enough to believe that Iger decided one day that he did not like Ronny, so he’ll build a building in NY and name it after himself, you really need to get a clue. This building’s design was complete in 2020, proving that it was envisioned and on its way FAR before the Desantis/Chapek mess. Really…before you assume that you know how the world works in tiny-minded, simple, negative terms, study up on how the world really functions.

  37. Linda Marie Gonzalez

So the man who destroyed Disney World gets a building named after him! He never should have been hired and rehired. Supposedly, he’s leaving Disney soon. Wait a little while after he leaves. Disney will hire him back to do more damage. Is corporate Disney trying to damage their reputation and stock worth? They keep on producing Woke garbage movies and destroying classic rides in the name of Woke! Their public relations department must be the worse one on the planet!

  38. Ennis

    Absolutely ridiculous.

Bob Iger does NOT deserve to have that much honor on his name

  39. Nathan

Terrible move. I liked Iger back in the day, but I’m really starting to question how misguided I was. He’s just as bad as Chapek nowadays!

  40. Jonathan

He’s claiming they’re racist towards white people which is laughable because it is produced by white people.

  41. Star

First of all the word WOKE is being misunderstood and misused here. Also, why is it that a princess has to be white to be right. When the m I vie Cleopatra was released with Elizabeth Taylor playing the lead roll it was OKAY, but as history will tell you all, she was NOT white. So let’s stop making the problems of the world about color and/or race and whitewashing everything because the real problem here is pure GREED and evil MEN. They are the reason for all the problems in the world, with their big EGOS, overinflated pride and small packages who prefer to keep everyone else in a box so their easier to control and manipulate. Remember that DISNEY isn’t the only problem here people WAKE UP!!!!!

    1. Marie

Actually, the Ptolomeys were Greek. Cleopatra was Greek…….not Egyptian. So, she would have had the skin of people with Mediterranean heritage. Not Egyptian heritage. So if you’re trying to say Cleopatra was black, you’re wrong.

  42. Yeah…that sounds like the most economical place they could be based.
Disney has been chasing it’s tail and will continue chasing it’s tail until they return to their roots and give up the greed of a publicly traded company.
Short story…Mr. Disney would be turning in his grave.

  43. Marie

Nothing like kicking Mr Walt to the curb, hey Bob? Are you going to be changing the parks to Bobby World now?

  44. That Guy

Wow. So many folks thrive on being negative about someone who has done far more good for saving the Disney brand and company than they could ever even approach, personally! Did anyone bother to understand the reality that this is the new, consolidated, Disney NY operations, and it is NOT the actual Disney corporate headquarters, as people seem to imply? I know it’s fun for so many folks to live in a little cocoon where their negative comments allow them to feel like they have power and purpose, but please, people, realize that this world is a great place and there are good people who still do the right thing. By the way, this building is a beautiful addition to NY and a good idea for Disney’s business. And yes, I am a complete pixie dusted 30+ year WDW Cast Member. Disney’s legacy and brand are important to me. Even in the face of sanctimonious “Haters of Bob.”

    1. Steve

Well too bad he is the worst thing to ever happen to Disney and after my takeover, I will undo his life’s work via De-Igerfication as I usher in the Make Disney Great Again era. That means the only new attractions will be bringing back old things, no more nickel and diming, no more reliance on apps or any line skipping services, any new attraction that I decide to add to the parks will not be allowed to have an IP tie in and there will be no more synergy between the parks and studios. All animated movies will be hand drawn again, too. Everything will be done by asking “What would Walt do?” again as management did for decades after his passing and I will only cater to Disney purists and traditionalists. I’ll keep Disney trapped in the 20th century.
