I miss the days when WDW had many large sponsors. EPCOT was an entertaining educational experience about the future as large industry leaders envisioned. Anything and everything seemed possible through science and engineering. It was a place full of hope, imagination and wonder about the engineering, technical, medical possibilities of tomorrow.

They felt that other humans shouldn’t be treated like lesser humans. However, they didn’t do anything about it (except complain).
In the 1960’s, teens/young adults took that concept and protested. Unfortunately, they also discovered hallucinogenic drugs. The “Hippie” movement sparked resistance in those that felt war/aggression and Capitalism was the way of life; and that it should be enforced upon others.
In the 1990’s, teens/young adults took the ideals of the “Hippie” movement further. Since drugs weren’t part of this, they took the other side’s forcefulness and declared that the reason people of different races/genders/whatever didn’t get along is because there needed to be ONE SINGE TERMINOLOGY to describe each group. They felt like shoving their correcting of politics (politics — as in how everyone should conduct themselves) onto everyone else was the way to go. This “Politically Correct” movement was starting to follow the teachings of Karl Marx’s concept.
In the 2020’s, teens/young adults took P.C. even further. Not only were they shoving as many different genders/races/whatever down people’s throats; but they were also denouncing white as a race and male as a gender. Pride represents non-heterosexual (as in only one group of people is EXCLUDED from that group). This is what the “Woke” movement is (in today’s world.
And now to get into Marxism (and what it was REALLY about):

Karl Marx wanted his country to treat people fairly/equally. He felt as though the social status and household wealth was harming those less fortunate. So, he designed a concept that would make everyone the same. Instead of variety (which could mean one is better than the other), there would be NO choice and only the same specific supply would suffice.
Rich upper-class would be treated the same as poor lower-class. And this was not optional, either. It was a FORCED way of life. You are born. At a certain age, you are given a job. You work until the age you can no longer be of service. You continue to live as the government tells you. Then, you eventually die.
Marxism became something that it wasn’t intended. Instead of helping those less fortunate, it got twisted into a sort of dictatorship. Only ONE religion allowed. Only ONE way of life allowed.
Finally, it’s time to talk about empathy and MAGA’s view of Christianity:

Empathy is understanding and respecting the feelings of others. For some reason, the highly religious believe that only THEIR religion can be empathetic — and that the other religions (obviously) are the wrong religion.
MAGA even takes this further EXTREME, by wanting their religion (Christianity) to be the ONLY one in USA. An ex-acquaintance of mine believed the Bible was a history book. She stated (to everyone) that they can be whatever religion they wanted to be…just as long as they accepted Jesus Christ as their lord & savior — before they die. Sounds “empathetic”…right?
Compassion isn’t forcing your views onto others. It’s about RESPECT! Woke, Marxism, and MAGA don’t seem to understand empathy nor compassion. And yet, they preach about being the only ones that do.
America was progressing. In 2015, a TV celebrity told America that they should be against anyone he doesn’t like. Since he was rich & famous, many Americans blindly followed him. Instead of continuing the progression to all humans being accepted & respected, the new group went in the other direction.
That group (mostly Republicans, at that time) became the cult known as MAGA. Their goal: Rich, heterosexual, Christian, white male supremacy. They served their leader (even calling him their messiah) by spreading his ideals throughout media and (especially) social media.
Instead of listening to rational people, MAGA ensured that only THEIR way of life would succeed. Unfortunately, it worked. They made people fear “the price of eggs” and made people believe “immigrants are only people from foreign prisons”. They used human fear to blame those in charge of the country (which happened to be the Democrats).
Even those, that knew what MAGA was all about, would not vote for the political party that they blamed for their own personal fears. THAT is how we now face a country that (if left unchecked) could: lose all governmental assistance, lose their educational teachings, give the power of decision making to only white males (no rights for P.o.C. nor females…unless the whoever currently has enough power to stand up for themself), make Pride illegal, make it so employees only get paid for time served (no overtime, sick leave, nor tips), and (of course) lose their position in the rest of the world.
Now that this topic has been covered, can we get back to Iger and his waiting until Disney no longer had enough money, before expanding? His solution of “Get rid of anything I don’t like.” seems very familiar. No wonder MAGA is enjoying the NEW Disney (the one that’s getting rid of Walt’s “family and entertainment mean more” values)!

Replacing the Rivers of America with a loud, obnoxious “thrill ride” no one asked for is THE WORST IDEA WDI HAS EVER HAD!!! The Cars ride belongs in Tomorrowland, to replace the terrible Speedway, which has never fit in.
To me it would have made more sense to make a 5th park (especially since Universal is opening Epic Universe by next summer). If they wanted to spend money wisely then they should (as I’ve already written) make a 5th park, do a much better job in the maintenance of the rides/attractions, do a better job when it comes to the quality of the food/beverages, if people are going to be paying more for the Holliday events then offer more events/treats, etc. That’s much better than just building Cars Land. A Villains Land would be cool.
