A vibrant theme park attraction, Tiana Ride, features a log flume descending from a hill covered in greenery. Nearby, a sign with animated characters reads "Bayou Country," with a water tower labeled "Annie's." Lush plants and trees surround the scene, holding secrets of Disney magic.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland looks like an underwhelming Jungle Cruise Knockoff ride

To the Inside the Magic staff and Disneyland fans. I have seen previews of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland and I’ve been very underwhelmed by the attraction retheme as it’s missing many of my favorite characters from The Princess and the Frog film including the red and yellow lady butterflies, dancing pink spoonbill birds, Lawrence, 3 hillbilly men Reggie, Darnell, Two Fingers, Buford, 2 Fenner Brothers, Marcel the white cat, Buta the dog, 3 possums on a tree branch, deer. Also missing is Dr. Facilier and his spooky dolls, masks and shadow spirits. 3 iconic songs from The Princess and the Frog, Ma Belle Evangeline, When We’re Human, Friends on the Other Side and feels like a Jungle Cruise copycat ride which is very disappointing.

Since this ride takes place in 1927, there would’ve been black face stereotypes, mistreatment of African American people, Jim Crow laws, alcohol ban, New Orleans didn’t have a good year in 1927 because of the Mississippi river flooding disaster which happened in March and April 1927 and the African Americans were stranded on the levees with no food and water, I’m very shocked that Disney Imagineers didn’t do enough research on the events of 1927. Also the Salt Mines that Tiana bought was were the black slaves worked in. Also Tiana would not have been able to celebrate her Mardi Gras parade since she would’ve had to help out the displaced homeless people who’s homes got flooded. Also missing is the iconic pop culture references including Little Orphan Annie, Winnie the Pooh, Louis Armstrong, Charlie Chaplin, Lon Chaney, also films like Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Felix the Cat, The Jazz Singer film, Metropolis would’ve been a nice addition to the queue line.

I hope in the future the Disneyland and Disney World Imagineers will redo Tiana’s Bayou adventure to The Princess and the Frog ride retelling with Dr. Facilier although Voodoo and Hoodoo references will likely get cut out. I don’t think Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will last very long like former Splash Mountain.

I’m going on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland and bring my Dr. Facilier Funko pop action figure with Lawrence figure and film them on the ride. I’ll have to use 1927 public domain music to avoid copyright trouble for my youtube video since 3 of the Princess and the Frog songs I mentioned are copyrighted.

I’m very disappointed this ride took place in 1927 during the flooding disaster of New Orleans and the salt mine slavery reference, I hope they can the date move it to 1928 right before the stock market crash of 1929 and remove the Salt Mine reference. If the Tiana TV show on Disney Plus doesn’t cover the flooding disaster of 1927 or other problems like the Jim Crow laws and sugar coats the history of American in 1920s, I’ll quit watching it and go back to watch The Princess and the Frog 2009 movie instead.
