The original fast passes kept all guests at the same level. You enter the park and go and get you fast pass. Simple.
Then there was the additional ability to do it on line. Another advantage for some people. Limited amount of days ahead, staying on property, etc. all unfair advantages.
Now having to pay for the privilege. Most people can barely afford to take their families to the parks. I even heard of taking out loans and mortgages to take their families.
Disney parks are becoming a place for the rich or near rich.
