I don’t know about the details, but this reminded me of Gene Rodenberry’s ashes! (Did I spell that wrong?) His ashes were divided so a small portion, the size of a lipstick tube, is now floating out in space! Could Disney do the same thing, only in a part of the park(s)? Could raise the cash flow and make ppl really happy. One wall by the H. Mansion and one wall by Pirates. Otherwise, keep things separate, folks! Disneyland and WDW are theme parks, not cemetery’s! (and we think we’ve heard it all!)
I was just thinking about the same thing!
Disney .. here’s an upcharge opportunity for you! Offer to have a collection space in the graveyard where you offer someone a small vial for loved ones ashes that are then stored in the graveyard. Charge $1000 per vial for permanent residence in the attraction aa long as the attraction is around. Disney keeps ownership of the vials, etc etc maybe offer some special plaque for the family… This would be a easy way to stop most of the ash dumping and make $ at the same time.
Then maybe Disney should change some of the narrative during the ride.
The disembodied voice at one point says there are 999 happy haunts but there’s room one more. Any takers? Or something to that effect. At the very end of the ride where the ghosts follow you home there’s a figure saying don’t forget to bring your death certificate. Now most people take all that as just fun but there are those that may take it to heart.
Ummm….no the voice is part of the ride and experience and you have to be a couple sandwiches short of a full on picnic to take the statements seriously. Those who dump their loved ones are completely nuts and should reconsider doing this to remains of a loved one. Disney should also impose severe fines for those who insist .
I am pretty sure there are plenty of human remains scattered at all Disney Parks. Some most likely did this discreetly or in a place not so noticeable like on Tom Sawyers Island , in the shrubs by major rides , the grass, gardens near Downtown Disney or the resorts, etc who knows ? And how could you tell unless you witness it? There are alot of activities done in the shawdow of darkness.
