Joanna I am a distant cousin to you thru both your Great Grand Pa Disney & your Great Grandma Disney & your Grandma Disney I have to disagree with you. You need to be fighting for their LEGACY”S so pull up your bootstraps and get at it !

  2. Walt

Iger and the board have DESTROYED Walt’s Legacy and this is the bridge too far? Well I guess we all have to have a last straw – hope this is not too little too late.

  3. Ag

If she is a strong fighter for Walt, she would have atarted fighting a long time ago when the the wokeness begin

    1. Aunt Polly

I’ll take “woke” over “weird” any day, and so will the majority of the country apparently. Because facts.

      1. Bob Jackson

        Weird = mutilation of children.
Weird = men in women’s bathrooms and competing in women’s sports.
Weird = Drag shows with barely clothed men gyrating in front of children
Weird = Everything in your life revolves around race
Weird = Wrecking the American economy to enrich your “Green” business political supporters

If you live in glass houses don’t throw stones.

Add woke and you got a real weird person!

        1. dee

          weird

        2. evan

Bob Jackson you’re seriously weird! I’Ll take WOKE any day over hate, anti-inclusivity!

          1. Gary

Woke is in the process of being destroyed, there are several major companies dropping Woke like a hot potato and the list is growing !!!

        3. The Empire Strikes Back

          Amen to you brother!

        4. Well said Bob.

        5. Laurent

None of these things are happening, especially the mutilation of children and our economy is fine. Nothing is being wrecked.

          1. Cb

            You are truly blind!

      2. dee

        Thank you!

      3. Steve

Woke people are the minority and it will soon be a thoughtcrime to be woke. Wokeness will be cured in Room 101. America will go back to the 1940s and the Greatest Generation will be reborn.

        1. Michael L

that is a fantasy you are living.

          1. Steve

No it is not. I have a Time Machine. Wokeness will be illegal in the US and when I take over Disney and make it great again it will be as unwoke as Walt was. We will go back to the 1940s.

        2. Phil

What a sick attitude. There was nothing wrong with the Greatest Generation. I lived through it. Don’t know if you were around then. But, if the human race lived with your concept of life, we would all be living in caves, hunting our food with spears or rocks, and cooking it over an open fire (if someone had the temerity to discover fire). There is absolutely nothing wrong with being “woke”, if being woke means respecting people for who they are, not for who we want them to be. You don’t just want to go back to the 1940s. You would be much happier to return to the good old days of pre-emancipation slavery. Why don’t you just acknowledge your innate bigotry.

        3. Laurent

          What, back to 1940s Germany?

          1. Steve

The WWII Generation is the Greatest Generation for a reason. Tom Brokaw knew it. America will be back in the 1940s with no political correctness, no wokeness, and Hollywood back under the classic Studio System with movie stars under contract to the studios again, and MGM and its “more stars than there are in the heavens” back on top and back in the hands of the family of the great Louis B. Mayer as the dream factory where Clark Gable became King of Hollywood and where Judy Garland skipped down the Yellow Brick Road as Dorothy.

      4. evan

        Agreed!

        1. Gary

          Keep after them Steve !!!

      5. Gary

Go to sleep Aunt Polly for about 500 years !!

      6. Lisa

what do you mean by “weird”?

  4. Gary Frank

I totally agree. You will never get anything to be Mr. Disney. Having met him once, the man was bigger than life. The animatronics may be better, but the movements are still raw. After seeing the Hall of Presidents and what they did to the last 20 president’s faces…there needs to be improvements. Mr. Disney would be better represented by rebroadcasting the Wonderful World of Disney shows again. Leave his memory live in film and our memories. This is one idea that needs to be taken off the drawing boards…please.

    1. Gary

I wish I had a chance to meet him !!!

  5. Joanna Miller was “overwhelmed with anger.” She DID NOT use the word disgust and the initial Facebook page was edited to reflect what she said.

  6. annoyomous

It’s Walt Disney. There must be no B show (imagine a B show on the Walt figure would be embarrassing).

Can Imagineering develop a animatronic that runs reliably w/o a B show? Don’t thing so from recent track records. So expect this attraction to be down for months outta the year.

  7. Beth W.

I agree with Gary Frank…leave Walt to the television screen, and axe the animatronic! You totally lose the real Walt using it. Plus, it will probably be “down” half the time. I also have to agree with some of the posters who called Joanna on what finally upset her enough to speak up. ‘Mam, this should have happened a long time ago. Walt Disney would be ashamed of how greedy the company has become, making it impossible for the very people that he built the original park for to be able to afford to attend.

  8. Jerry Atrix

Bobby I. is a business man who has to answer to his shareholders, not the fans of Disney.
Anyone who thinks Bobby I. is in it to keep Walt’s dreams and legacy alive, is living in Fantasyland. He has proven this over and over. Disney is on a downslide that may end the 100+ year old company, and when the curtain closes on its final performance, guests can applaud Bobby I. for directing its demise.

    1. Gary

All of the people in the world who loved Walt and with everyone who helped him create Disney, need to band together and keep the pressure on till the right changes are made before it is too late !!!!

    2. Daryl-Rhys

The universe will end before Disney dies.

      1. Steve

The Disney monopoly will be dying very soon. Antitrust will break up the company and send it back to the twentieth century. No more Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, ABC, ESPN, Muppets, etc. All of those will be independent again and Disney will be back in its place as just an animation studio with some theme parks.

        1. Jarod

          Steve,
Mr. Trump can take over those other divisions of the company and bring them the glory they deserve from our best business man the world has.

          1. Phil

“best businessman the world has”? Six bankruptcies, Trump University scam, cheating small contractors, materialmen, big banks, employing foreign workers in his club and on union construction projects so he didn’t have to hire Americans. Is that what makes him the “best”?

          2. Erik

            LOL!!! That’s funny!

  9. Maria Mendez

I was In Disneyland in June! At 67 yers old, I was so happy to be there! I waited all my life to go! I only wish I could’ve met Mr. Disney! Please just leave things alone! Do not continue with this project! Let us remember Mr. Disney as he was. Thank you!

  10. EVAN

Animatronic Walt Disney is just wrong on so many levels & creepy as well!

  11. Michael L

if the family is so upset, they should not have sold him as an IP to the company.

  12. Cindy

It will be like the stepford wives. No emotion

    1. Steve

Remember to vote for our beloved leader Mr. Trump *2024* and help him spread the magic ✨ of project *2025* to us all and the world finally ending this coloured fag woke nonsense.

We will not be silenced or told we we’re wrong for trying to take back the capitol and this Jan will will take it back no matter what.

      Yours Truly,
      -Steve

  13. ROGER D STEVENS

Film would be better. Use old film of Walt to tell his story.

  14. Zilma A Osle

Instead of a robot why not do the next best thing…… A movie about Walts life. You can get Tom Hanks to play Walt. He did such a great job as Walt in the movie about the making of Merry Poppins. Please!!!! Do that instead. That’ll be so cool!!!!

  15. Don

Wait a minute. Wasn’t it Walt that was so excited to build an audio-animatronic of President Lincoln? Was Walt disrespecting the president that he loved so much?

I’m sorry but I don’t see this as disrespecting Walt. If this is done correctly, I believe this will be a huge honor to Walt.

I know we aren’t supposed to say “What Would Walt Do” anymore, but that’s okay. We already know what he would do. Because he did it! I welcome this new tribute to a man we all love and care about.

    1. Steve

Disney is required to make every decision by asking “What would Walt do?” WWWD is the one question that every single Disney employee must ask before making crucial decisions. The same question that ran Disney for decades after his death and will again after I take over Disney and make it great again. Even if that means keeping Disney stuck in the twentieth century, catering only to traditionalists, stagnant, and treating the parks as private clubs. No that mantra did not almost bankrupt Disney in the 1980s.

  16. Sara Toga

Well now. It’s a good thing the family, along with several board members, supported Bob I. when they held that vote to keep him in the big chair.
Bob I. has lost his way and the magic that was once Disney. Maybe a new vote for an updated CEO, will right the train that has a wheel or two off the tracks.

    1. Corrine

Or perhaps a new CEO will be the final nail in the coffin.

  17. Diana T

Having a Walt Disney animatronics would solidify my believe that I am in a Disney cult!

  18. Shelly

I think what they are doing to Disney world is down right disgusting They are destroying the legacy and all the dreams of Walt I plan on bringing my grandbaby in 2026 but wondering if I should do sooner before they totally come destroy the magic So sad

    1. Gary

Everyone against what is happening to Disney whether it is caused by WOKE or any other group we need to keep fighting to get Disney back the way Walt wanted it. So keep at it and let other Walt Disney Fans know to add to our numbers just keep hitting WOKE as bad as we can. I do not know if there is other ways we can hurt WOKE thru different media sources if someone knows someone in broadcast radio or TV who is a Walt fan maybe they could help. SO EVERONE KEEP AFTER WOKE UNTIL THEY GIVE UP !

  19. John

Walt was not a flaming communist like current Disney executives. They will put words in his mouth that the real Walt Disney would never say, that would disgust him as an American. Disney now has no morals, no ethics and no integrity. Do you really think that Walt would approve of Transgenders trying to seduce little boys into dressing like Snow White or Cinderella?

  20. I agree that the closest family should be consulted first in this decision!! They know Walt the best!! I am also a distant relative of Walt Disney and would like his memory respected and his vision honored!!

  21. David E. Glenn

I’m worried that it will be yet another tool to spread the message of the company and not it’s creator.

I say that as one of the few that was a guest in the park that met the man himself. I was very young at the time. Almost too young to remember most things, but I can’t forget his face, seeing him on TV, and learning of his death was almost like losing a member of the family.

I’m not sure how seeing Uncle Walt as an animatronic figure would affect me! As an engineer in visual arts, I do understand the technology involved, so I know that it may look rather false or at best reach the realm of the uncanny valley. That is what I fear the most!

Animatronics is great for Disney characters. The expiations are relatively low and the lack of effective realism is filled by the imagination and expiations of the guest. Doing a real person, the user has seen the real thing in media and may have difficulty making any emotional connection with the result, that is the whole point to doing something like that in the first place. I just don’t bereave in my hart of hearts, that Disney Imagineering has reached that threshold yet -but I could be wrong!

    1. Steve

There is no Walt animatronic coming, at all. Nothing was announced at D23 2024.

  22. S.disney

We all know the truth…even those that know the truth and attack it daily know the truth. Keep your actions anx voice strong. We as related family members will be ok.
