1.) The word is “umpteen”, not “umpty”. It means “too many to count right off hand”.
2.) I’m confused. So it wasn’t really a ghost this guy was seeing; just the work of Imagineers that he had not previously been aware of? Why was it labeled as a “real” ghost? Even in the story, when you said you weren’t kidding about someone seeing a real ghost, turns out you were kidding, I guess? Most puzzling.

Are you not familiar with the concept of using quotes around a word to indicate ambiguity? You need to get into the “spirit” of their writing style.
