I can understand both sides of this specific issue. First of all, everyone has the right to go to WDW whenever they want. They’re paying for the flight, hotel, food, drinks, souvenirs, theme parks, etc. It’s pricey, so let them. & if they did their research about Florida from June to late October (which is hurricane season) and don’t care about what can happen, then that’s their problem. These people have to live in reality. This is still hurricane season and the chances of a hurricane are pretty high. I just hope that this lady is aware that if she does go that she’s not going to have a chance to go to the parks until x amount of time/days after the storm. The people of WDW have to see all (if any) destruction has occurred. What’s fixable, what isn’t, what’s safe for the CM (cast members) and guests to do/see/access during these times of the year when hurricanes can hit Disney, etc. There is a lot of study that has occur before they decide whether to open or keep the parks closed for the time being. It’s not like the storm hits, it’s over, and then you can go back to the parks. It takes a lot of surveying of every Inch of each theme park, attraction, show, etc, in order for them to say if it’s safe to let guests and/or cast members into the parks. This person also has to realise that some people are vey gullible. If she goes to Disney when there is a hurricane and says that it’s no big deal then others will do the same. Especially the people that don’t know a thing about these storms (the dangers, the flooding, the winds, how much devastation there can be, etc). Did this lady do any research about hurricanes before she left? I hope that this lady doesn’t think that now that the storm has passed that it’s completely safe to go to the parks. If Disney says that it is then go right ahead and go. Just be careful where you step, etc.
