Honestly, releasing the killer whales would be a death sentence for them. It is far better to keep them in captivity, care for them the best we can until they pass away and let them help educate and entertain people until then. This way people can learn about these animals, see them first hand and gain an appreciation for them in the wild.

I am not saying that is worth capturing more of them or breeding them in captivity, but that we should use them as resources in the meanwhile, understanding that releasing isn’t feasible.

  2. SeaWorld’s claims are self-serving — most experts not affiliated with the captivity industry agree that orcas and other cetaceans would do better in certified seaside sanctuaries, rather than the small concrete coffins they currently inhabit at SeaWorld parks. Just across the bay in San Diego from SeaWorld is the US Navy dolphin program, in which trained dolphins have been kept in sea pens for decades. SeaWorld should join with existing proposed sanctuaries, in the process of being built, or build their own seaside sanctuaries. They have earned billions of dollars from exploiting orcas while unfairly trashing efforts like Keiko and Tokitae to return to the sea in a sanctuary.

Seaworld orcas do perform you need to get your information correct.

Unlike Keiko, who was released alone, these orcas could be released into a sanctuary together. They are all related in some way due to artificial insemination so they would create their own pod together. Also, I’d rather die after 2 years of freedom in the wild than live two more years in a chlorinated bathtub.

It’s time the Got rid of all type off dolphins including orcas and the park needs a name change and more new rides

No it’s not. The orcas and dolphins need to stay and will stay. Seaworld needs less rides.

I agree. We love SeaWorld because of the animals. Releasing the orcas into the wild would be a death sentence for them. These animals do not know how to hunt, plus I agree with SeaWorld that they do not have the immunity required to survive in the wild. We attend the orcas shows regularly, and the orcas enjoy and crave human interaction. Releasing them into the ocean would be cruel. Also, while it is true that Disney will sadly no longer have dolphins at Epcot, the manatee it is moving will be replaced with another. Frankly, we are passholders at both SeaWorld and Disney, and Disney is likely removing the dolphins because they are expensive to house and Disney cannot compete with other parks like SeaWorld that offer a better dolphin experience. At the end of the day, the only thing Disney cares about is the almighty dollar.

I have been going to Sea World for over 50 Years, as a kid, with my kids and now with my grandkids. It has been a great experience for all of us, to understand we must take care of the ocean and the sea life in it. Sea World is ever changing for the better of the Orcas and all their sea life. The Orcas would die if just let out free, after living at Sea World all their life. They are cared for with people who love them, I hope Sea World stays strong.

Please treat the Killer Whales as the intelligent, sensitive and magnificent creatures they are. Please give the most freedom possible. Please stop using them to make money.
