    They didn’t reverse anything. Stop.

Splash Mountain is not closed in WDW or Disneyland. That is a fact and I’ll be enjoying Splash at WDW for its 75th and at Disneyland for its centennial in 2055

They can’t stop, won’t stop. It’s their job, doncha see?

By misusing their so-called job, genius.

        1. Wokey Dwarf

They enticed you to open and read this by doing their “so-called job” properly, so you played right into their hand, genius.

  2. I think it will maybe be like Coal Cracker @ HERSHEY Park aka the sweetest place on earth…

  3. I think it will maybe be like Tidal Force at HERSHEY Park aka the sweetest place on Earth or like SKY Splash At SESAME Place….

They should have kept Splash Mountain the way it was and not change a thing! Simple as that. Don’t like it then don’t ride it. Again… simple as that!

Splash mountain was very fun and I think changing it is a mistake. Even changing it why princess and the frog? I would have done Lion King with all its great music and as your going up the lift scar and mufassa could have had there battle scene would have been much better theme movie for that ride.

They chose Princess & The Frog because it’s a better fit (a natural fit) with the ŕide being located within the New Orleans section of the park(s). A “Lion King” ride would need to be in Adventure

    Why are lying???

Tianna’s Bayou Adventure would be a better addition to Disneyland’s New Orleans Square than at WDW.
Return WDW’s Splash Mountain to its original status and water resistant pneumatic powered animatronics that were moisture resistant. We will make an even trade of our Tianna’s Bayou Adventure for your Splash Mountain.

sorry people didn’t want a movie with an extremely racist background at a Disney park anymore(?) be happy they compromised. they’re not doing this for you they’re doing this for the children that visit their parks. Updating the ride is the best idea since it will hopefully bring a more positive impact on park goers.

    1. Tell me honestly, how many of the visitors to WDW or Land have even SEEN Song of the South; or better yet, if they have, see it as “extremely rascist”? QUIT LOOKING FOR THINGS TO FIGHT ABOUT!!!

      1. Aunt Polly

Tell me honestly, how many visitors care what the theme of a log flume is, as long as they still get to ride a log flume?

Jon, I have not seen the movie, but the attraction was one of my favorites. I am very confused as to what caused this sudden backlash when the attraction was enjoyed after opening. (I am aware of the cause, but why did this come up so many years later?) The movie did get banned, but honestly, I hear more good about the film than bad. Even during this trashy nonsense, people still went on and enjoyed the attraction. This new generation is doomed. All these new folks do is look for something and continue to grip on about it until they get what they want. Terrible.

        1. Wokey Dwarf

And then you have folks who continue to gripe on about stuff they have no control over instead of accepting the change and moving on, because they didn’t get what they wanted and never will.

        2. Aunt Polly

The backlash was not so sudden. It just seems that way when you’re not paying attention. There was an outcry early on, but because Disney had invested a lot of money in their new attraction, they were understandably not ready to accommodate the concerns of any dissenters, especially since they had designed the ride in a way that did not directly reference Song of the South, so they figured the voices of those dissenters would simply fade away in time. The only reason the backlash seems sudden to YOU is because Disney finally started listening and responding to the growing dissenters, rather than sweeping them under the rug, and this made the issue become increasingly newsworthy.

  9. At this point, who cares!!!!

The best news out of D23 was that they’re finally updating Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe to include a Ye Olde Kwanzaa section and a kiosk for ordering collectible personalized dreidels.

Burn it down. Put back SPLASH MOUNTAIN.

many areas of disneyland needs redone/refurbished before they ever thought of changing splash mountain. Are there mountains in the bayou? Ya, totally ridiculous. Love the song of the south. So glad I have ir in DVD.
So why is there nothing at the theatres in CA adventure or Disneyland
And what replaced the people mover
    And the empty circle bldg
    Tomorrowland needs redone
    But instead they redo splash
    No more every night fireworks
    Parades are minimal
    No theatres
Heck, for over a year I paid for parking but the tram wasn’t working after covid shut down
Disney only thinks of how to make a buck
    Not the happiest place
