Disney World Cancels Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Brings Back Splash Mountain

Comments for Disney World Cancels Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Brings Back Splash Mountain

A colorful and detailed rock formation resembling a mountain, with rugged terrain, patches of greenery, and a distinct peak. The sky is overcast, adding contrast to the vibrant hues of the rocks. At its base, a wooden structure with a peaked roof hints at the Magic Kingdom's newest attraction launching next month.

Disney has never removed the song from the entrance loop. I went to the kingdom 2 months after splash closed and they were still playing perfectly fine. It’s not as offensive as zip a dee doo dah is to some guests

    1. Anonymous

Zip a Dee Doo Dah song was never an offensive song. Only deluded fools foolishly think that.

      1. DS1

        Fools such as Iger

  2. Kari Johnson

They didn’t have to change the name…there is no reference to a Splash Mountain in the movie. I understand the rettheme…. without the movie being shown the characters are outdated. But splash Mountain described the ride and I bet most people will still call it that!

    1. Max

Almost everyone I talked to does still call it Splash Mountain.

      1. Anonymous

        That’s because they are misguided.

Why doesn’t Disney Imagineers do a SANTA CLAUSE rollercoaster sleigh theme ride?

They have the Matterhorn at Disneyland.

It would probably be a hit on those hot humid Summer days and then be all lit up with Christmas Lights and other decorations during the Holidays.

    1. Eden

Probably because not everyone celebrates Christmas and Santa is like a staple for Christmas. So it could deter a lot of costumers away and I highly doubt disney wants something like to happen. It could also be because Santa isn’t an official Disney character.

      1. Aunt Polly

I doubt Disney is worried about that, since Haunted Mansion and It’s a Small World both get a Christmas-themed makeover every year in Disneyland.

      2. Theveganrose

Ummm hello haunted mansion and small wirkd are returned for Christmas do
Why not retheme Matterhorn for Christmas ? I think it’s a great idea!

      3. Jason

Disney made a bad decision when they changed a iconic ride, and decided that they were going to make a political stance and be woke, now they must wallow in their poor choices, not every one is on board with the woke ideology and they don’t want their children to be subjected to it. Disney failed to realize the basic principal that it’s child themed unlike Knott’s or six flags so why would you alienate parents and throw woke ness in their face? Obviously didn’t look at the Budweiser problem beforehand because they would have known that when you go woke you go broke.

        1. Jade VR

What are you on about? aside from people mentioning that most probably still call it Splash Mountain, no one mentioned anything about the ride itself, or how it’s not popular, or anything. YOU chose to throw that in there, with your “go woke” views. This wasn’t even what the commenter posted about. Seems you have the issue, not the commenter.

  4. The erasure of the attractions at Disney parks due to those who are allegedly offended is amazing. It is amazing if there are people still alive that lived through that era. It is the history of the United States. It is akin to having the lady, Nancy Green removed from the Aunt Jamima products. The family is still furious at the liberal agenda. She was the first black female millionaire and major black female model.

The tail is wagging the dog.

Disney’s staff should look inside and fix their liberal agenda.

    1. Goo Goo Gah Gah

You even believed the propaganda about Nancy Green. There’s just no fixing that “echo chamber”-level of ignorance.

    2. Ramah

      100% agree

    3. Ava

I saw Song of South in theaters as a kid. I loved the music. I don’t understand why the music has to be banned. Zip a Dee do Dah and Laughing Place are fun songs. I don’t understand what the problem is with the music.

    4. Robert

It’s the free market, bruv… private companies get to make their own decisions. You don’t have to like them, but there’s nothing you can do about it except whine on a comment board. Get a life.

    5. Jade VR

And you should stop trying to live in a world that you think should exist, and come back to reality. Unless you own the company, you have really no say in it all. Maybe you’re the one that needs to look inside and fix your own agendas.

  5. Amanda

Why do you write this fake trash. I just rode it last week. LoL. STOP.

    1. Dog Wagger

Enticing people to open and read is part of her job, which she’s obviously doing well.

      1. Spank You Very Much

Point taken. I still think we should spank her, though. Just because.

    2. Steve

No you didn’t. There is no Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and never will be. Splash Mountain is alive and well and I went on it at WDW for its 75th on October 1, 2046. Disney will also be having a celebration of Song of the South’s centennial that year.

  6. Harris

Wow! Disney making an intelligent decision. Thank you

    I miss River Country

    1. Louis

What decision? I have a feeling you didn’t actually read the whole thing. LOL

    2. Doc

That goes back a few years. But if it was still there someone would probably find something to be offended by.

    3. Bikerboi

That be so cool for a Santa Clause theme ride. I would imagine Santa would not offend either. Truthfully it’s harder to find something that isn’t offensive because anything can offend someone. We should all enjoy the fun park and rides for the fun of it and the talking animals. Let’s escape reality and have a conversation with a cute bear or mouse. Be a kid again and enjoy life.

      1. Jade VR

100% agree with you! I don’t understand WHY society needs to constantly take every single thing in life so seriously. Why do they feel the need to make sense and logic into everything, and have to find every little error in things to try and be offended by it, or deem something dangerous or socially harmful? The Disney parks are literally a place to forget reality and the serious life, where a cartoon mouse rules a FANTASY kingdom.
People need to remember that growing up doesn’t mean forgetting to enjoy life and have fun. If you’ve lost those aspects, then you’ve already ruined your own life, not the other way around.

    4. Corrine

Oh my gosh, so do I! When my kids were little, every time my husband and I brought them down for our vacation, which was the only place we ever went for a vacation, we camped at Fort Wilderness and would spend one day at River Country. We loved it! All of the things to do in the water…so much fun!

    5. Thera352

      I miss river country too!!!
      Best water park EVER!!!

  7. Aunt Polly

What decision is that? The music loop?

  8. Me

This was the dumbest move. They replace one supposed offensive and stereotyping moving with a blatant stereotyping moving. Princess and the frog makes fun of and depicts “stereotypical country bumpkins from the south”, yet somehow that’s not offensive 🙄

    1. Me

      *movie

      1. Spank You Very Much

So you meant to say “This was the dumbest movie.” Thanks for clearing that up.

    2. Anonymous

you mean the five seconds that there’s a scene with frog hunters? That’s enough to qualify as a “stereotype” to you? yikes

    3. Jade VR

You’ve never been to the true “down south” of the bayou, it seems. And you referring to them as country bumpkins somehow isn’t offensive? Perhaps you need to review the meaning of being offensive and the word stereotype, as you just stereotyped people yourself.

  9. Brer

Disney blew it! James Baskett, was the first Black man to win an Academy award and yes it was for his role as “Uncle Remus”. They could have told Baskett’s story in the line while waiting for the line for Splash Mountain … now that would have really been magical and a testament to Walt’s love of this man as well.

  10. Casey

YES!!!! I knew they would come to their senses. I’m happy to say when they put Splash Mountain back I will be riding it!!

    1. Jade VR

They didn’t.. you failed to read the story and just saw the title…

    2. Jade VR

They won’t be putting it back. This is a fabrication.

  11. Mike

Disney doesn’t care about ppl they care about money. The original idea behind Disney was great. You can’t just erase parts of history just because you don’t like it

    1. Aunt Polly

It’s easy to agree with the statement “you can’t just erase parts of history,” since that’s obviously impossible and is why no parts of history have been erased … by Disney or anyone. History continues to exist. Disney might be magical, but erasing history would also involve erasing people’s memories, and that’s a magic trick they still haven’t mastered. Meanwhile, they can change whatever they want on their own property, no matter the reason, whether you like it or not.

  12. Marie

LOL….the Splash Mountain Characters are actually based on African Folk Tales, while they have hijacked The Frog Prince….a German tale with European characters, and changed race of the characters, location, everything about it. But it was Splash Mountain that was offensive.

    1. Aunt Polly

      Pot meet kettle.

  13. Shane

It’s been a few years since being to Disney World. They have added a bunch of new things since we last been which was literally a couple days after not having tow wear masks everywhere. BUT, we have already started making plans for when Universals Epic Universe opens to go back. I have a feeling, with all the Disney bull lately, Epic Universe way eventually make Disney a ghost town. I hate saying it, but this park literally reminds me of what the Animal Kingdom original plans was.

  14. Splash mountain was one of my favorite rides as a kid

  15. Kw

I find it fascinating that 1940s Disney seems to be best preserved at Disneyland Tokyo.

  16. Janet

Im hearing Tiana replacement is nowhere near as good. DW should never have removed Splash Mountain. It was a fan FAVORITE. They should have just changed the song if people thought it was racist. I didn’t. Bring it back please
    .

  17. ilovedisney

omg yay thanks God I always wanted to ride splash mountain

    1. Jade VR

Sorry to say, you won’t be able to, unless you plan to go to Tokyo Disneyland. There is no plan to bring it back in the States.

  18. Bobby

I heard that Shanghai disney and Hong Kong disney are also not changing the splash mountain did the change the minds or what

    1. Jade VR

No, they didn’t change their minds. I don’t know the story behind Shanghai Disney, but Tokyo Disneyland is not owned specifically by Disney, but by the Oriental Land Company, which can have their own say of what remains or not within their park.

  19. JWillard

I understand the reasons why the change was made but, how come we today are willing to change things ment to bring a smile to the majority of those who visited Splash Mountain have to change it for a few?
