This is the bill in it’s original text: Treatments for Sex Reassignment; Granting courts of this state temporary emergency jurisdiction over a child present in this state if the child has been subjected to or is threatened with being subjected to sex-reassignment prescriptions or procedures; providing that, for purposes of warrants to take physical custody of a child in certain child custody enforcement proceedings, serious physical harm to the child includes, but is not limited to, being subjected to sex-reassignment prescriptions or procedures; prohibiting certain public entities from expending state funds for the provision of sex-reassignment prescriptions or procedures; prohibiting sex-reassignment prescriptions and procedures for patients YOUNGER THAN 18 YEARS OF AGE; requiring the department to immediately suspend the license of a health care practitioner who is arrested for committing or attempting, soliciting, or conspiring to commit specified violations related to sex-reassignment prescriptions or procedures for a patient younger than 18 years of age, etc.

I have actually bothered to look up and read SB 254, the bill in question. It does not make transgender care for adults illegal. The section of the bill which deals with persons over the age of 18 simply states this:
“The bill requires that if sex-reassignment treatments are prescribed for or administered or performed on patients 18 years of age or older, consent must be voluntary, informed, and in writing on forms adopted in rule by the boards and that consent is voluntary and informed only if the physician who is to prescribe or administer the pharmaceutical product or perform the procedure has, at a minimum, while physically present in the same room:
Informed the patient of the nature and risks of the treatment in order for the patient to make a prudent decision;
Provided the informed consent form to the patient; and
Received the patient’s written acknowledgment, before the prescription or procedure is prescribed, administered, or performed, that the information required to be provided has been provided.”
Ignore the fear-mongering comments about the bill, and about Gov. DeSantis. The purpose of the bill is to protect children, i.e., those under 18, from abusive mutilating treatments. That is perfectly reasonable. It is sad that some clinicians and pharmacies have chosen to withhold treatment from adults out of fear. But their fear is based on ignorance. Adults deserve appropriate care, and it is sad that some doctors and pharmacies have reacted the way they have. That is not Gov. DeSantis’ fault. My reading of the bill makes it clear to me that our governor is the target of malicious lies. I applaud his efforts to protect the most vulnerable members of our society-our children.
