You can add yourself to the list of ” the vocal minority”. I’d have more respect for you if you came out and said things directly instead of “sneak dissing”.
I was really anticipating this series . It was nothing but insultingly predictable & boring . The fact that you are begging people to support the series smacks more of you wanting to keep your job than really caring about what you are doing . If a series is good you don’t need to beg people to watch it . Put this series to rest & where it belongs , in the crapper . Leave the Star Wars franchise to someone else who knows what it’s about . You clearly don’t !!!!
You can’t even write a single coherent sentence. Just one long run on with no details about why you don’t like the show.
That lets us know you aren’t being genuine. You just don’t like that Disney is making Star wars for teens and young adults instead of you. You’re saying it’s bad but can’t even pinpoint one bad element? Just whining on and on about Disney? Yea fake fan drooling nostalgia all over the comments.
The Acolyte is just another example of Lucasfilm losing it’s way. Remember ‘Willow.’ Lucasfilm took a franchise that could have had every kid watching on Saturday morning, and turned it into one big turd. Kathleen Kennedy obviously has strong Hollywood connections; that would explain why she is allowed to destroy franchise after franchise.
You can’t even pinpoint what the Acolyte did to destroy lucasfilm. You’re just mad at random names on a screen. Not a single thing pinpointed you just don’t like a woman in charge. Hilarious
I didn’t think it was that bad. What were people expecting from a show aimed at teenagers with Muppets, space-magic, and laser swords? To be honest, Star Wars crashes more often than it’s able to actually stick a landing. Lucas himself only got 2 in 6. And I remember two Ewok movies in the 80s that are hard to sit through. The Acolyte had things that worked and didn’t work, but I hope they keep trying. I liked it enough to want to see more from that era.
I personally enjoyed the show. Manny Jacinto absolutely nailed his role. Lee Jung-jae, Dafne Keen, Rebecca Henderson did well in, and I think Amandla handled Mae and darkside Osha well. Her chemistry onscreen with Dafne and Manny was terrific. I would love to watch the rest of the story unfold.
I agree. They fell flat with making the witches a little too fearful of outsiders. Also having them all die rather than just Aniseya makes it seem less like a mistake and more deliberate.
Then there’s the Qimir storyline that feels a little too packed in with everything else. Still it’s fun, expands on how Lucas viewed the Jedi, and brought us a whole boatload of Legends material to get excited about. I’m ready for season two without a doubt.
How Lucas felt about the Jedi?! Lucas didn’t write this trash, Leslie headland’s band of “didn’t know a damn thing about Star wars did..”. This show would’ve fair a lot better if they would’ve stayed with Canon for example Darth Plagiaus The Wise has only one apprentice, Sheeve Palpatine (AKA The Emperor Darth Sidious) for those that don’t know canon… PERIOD! Had they done their research and read the comics, novels, etc, they would’ve known this. I’m glad some of you enjoyed but for me, this was an epic fail. They can keep their season 2. There’s no fixing this show, let’s move on now.
Amanda stenberg (I’m not memorizing her name) played her emotions the exact same in every scene she was in. And she played 2 different characters that both had very different outlooks on life. I get you have to bow down to the diversity throne, but come on man.
Mae and Osha truly had two different mannerisms, personalities, and skillets. Only thing that was really the same was they both sound the same when angry or crying.
Still not liking an actress is one thing. Going out your way to purposefully disrespect them and say they don’t deserve to have their name memorized? I hope someone says that to you in the nursing home when you’re old. I hope you feel all the same levels of disrespect you show to others.
Didn’t know who the actress was to begin with but she could not emote in any sense. If you know big bang theory sheldon was to be deprived of emotions and yet the actor emoted. Now im going to rehash a line from shoresy and this series was so swampy that ducks unlimited wouldnt even touch it
I stopped watching Ahsoka after “space whales”–this is where Disney’s Star Wars jumped the shark. It was so bad I cancelled Disney plus before I could watch The Acolyte. Looks like I made the right call.
Aww no love for the Purrgils or Thrawn? Thrawn is one of the best parts of the Star Wars series. Whether its the original books or the new canonical book trilogy. Lars Mikkelsen’s voice acting in Rebels was nailed the ominous tone and Dave Filoni wrote it well. Sorry you didnt enjoy it.
Thrawn is an awesome character. Just wished they made him look and act the same way as in rebels. He didn’t look fearful or in fighting shape in Ashoka at all. Admiral Thrawn is a character from the empire that reached his rank through fear, cunning and deception. Again, stick to canon. At least try to keep it close. Ashoka was miles better than Acolyte.
Why are the fans of the original SW always branded Toxic? Yes agreed there are a small amount that are, but majority not. The Acolyte is one on the most terribly written, directed, edited & acted series I have ever seen, the only reason it is in public eye is because the SW brand that’s been used & abused for another cash grab.
Yea see you already sound just as hard as the rest of your brood.
Terribly edited but it has some of the most viewed action sequences in Star wars. Bad writing yet it stays perfectly in canon and introduced 10 different Legends concepts.
Bad acting yet people online we’re at the edge of their seats as they learned Sol was a zealous maniac. Come on you’re just hating just to hate
Ahsoka series had a serious flaw as did Kenobi and that was… Filler episodes…a lot of stuff they used as fillers did not need to be on that show considering these shows are coming out to be a half hour long per episode and then it contains 6-8 episodes total. They could’ve made 3-4 episodes an hour an a half long with no filler content/trash in it which would’ve made a short series worth watching.
I am not a Star Wars fan in comparison to others, but I enjoy a good movie ot TV series. The Acolyte failed all around. Very poor story line and acting equivalent to a homemade movie. I can’t talk about breaking with Star Wars lore, but my son gave me some education on it. If this were any other business the people who made and approved this mess would be fired.
I did watch all episodes, but I can’t help watch a train wreck.
Once again a lazy review. What part of the story was lazy? What would you like to see done differently?
Most of these actors are well trained stage and film actors. Yet apparently it was like a home movie? Which performances in particular?
Y’all all make blanket statements because you know your argument falls flat through moment you try to use specifics. Especially when you take into context that his media is for teens and preteens
Show was disjointed and the character motivations felt random. Ultimately it felt like a waste of time watching it. Most of the Disney Star Wars content has just been bad TV and I’ve lost interest.
Most people who hated this series knowledge of Star Wars goes about as far as the last SW video game they played..Out of The Mandalorian, Ashoka and Andor, this was by far the best of the bunch! Let’s see, you had the best lightsaber fight scenes since ROTS, an actual character turning to the dark side, as it happened, while finally seeing a lightsaber being “bled”..what do we get out of the Mandalorian..baby Yoda?? Ashoka, hyperspace whales?? But The Acolyte is poorly written..LOL..Really??
I thought it was fine. It set up a second season we’ll if they move forward. There was a quote from the office in another comment, and that reminded me that the first season of the office was terrible. I think they have enough to build on.
Simeon Immanuel This show was trash it was a copy of phantom menace with matrix reloaded and kill bill sprinkled in. We get you like the show congrats. But the show was complete crap. The story line made no sense. They ruined the lore of Star Wars to push their narrative. Pushing feminism onto a boy brand is completely kill Lucas film and Disney. If you go read any high republic books including the ones vernestra is in the story doesn’t add up. Sith are bad Jedi are good it’s always been that way till this nut job got a hold of the reins and decided it’s time to mess it up. I could continue with the crap acting and what an abomination this story is.
💯!!! Keep it Canon with some good story writing and watch everybody jump back on the bandwagon. I saw a YouTube video from Star Wars Theory and he quoted…”Give me 180 million dollars and I’ll make something that everyone will love and enjoy”. I think Disney, even though they have a problem with SWTheory, should set their differences aside and give him a shot at it. He is a walking encyclopedia of Star Wars knowledge. I think he could put Star wars, Lucas Film, Disney back on the map.
Are you serious? Did you not watch the show? The terrible acting, the predictable plot/twist. The terrible writing and obvious money laundering when it came to the $180 million budget. The fact that some of the actors were purposely hired without even an audition tells me Leslye Headland has some serious dirt on Disney and if they grant her a second season when other shows deserve it more with that kind of budget. The low score on RT alone speaks volumes of what true fans expect from SW.
I was really excited about this show before it premiered. The lack of content from the period should have allowed them to explore this time period and add a lot to the star wars lore. I think for me its obvious that the story and dialogue needed some more work, which seems to be endemic to hollywood productions right now. I wish they had worked on the story more before production to help with consistency issues in their own story, not to mention consistency issues with Star Wars itself, namely introduction of grayer areas of the force. This could have been an amazing opportunity to launch the high republic genre on screen and it unfortunately missed the mark for me. I did love Quimir and Sol’s performances and the battles were epic, I just wished the story had been worked on some more.
As a new Star Wars fan, and not quite knowing all of the story lines. I enjoyed this show, was able to follow the story that showed how love between sisters can be repaired no matter how long. I am sad that there will not be another season. I wish the sisters could team up and live life together. I am sad to see that there will not b another season.
This show was the absolute worst thing that Disney has done to Star Wars. The Jedi acted nothing like Jedis. The story was all over the place and ultimately made no sense. Half of the time it was like watching a Kung Fu movie. The way the one Jedi attacked the other one in frustration – ridiculous! This show had the potential to create a new era. All it did was show that Disney doesn’t care about Star Wars. All they care about is bowing down to the growing idiocy that is taking over Hollywood and the country in general.
There are those of us, like my girlfriend and I, who love the series and the take it took in broadening the Star Wars universe by creating a villain and heroes who aren’t so sympathetic. There have already been layers of a cult like aspect to the Jedi hinted at in the prequels and The Clone Wars series. This was actually a breath of fresh air.

I believe Michael from the office said my thoughts on a second season of the Acolyte best, “NO! GOD! NO, GOD, PLEASE, NO!”
Simeon Immanuel
Why? Because we finally get to see the Jedi as how Lucas always wanted us to see them? Flawed and dangerously dogmatic? Truth hurts huh

It’s not toxic to have standards. The Acolyte had a couple of good acting performances and good fight choreography. Everything else was wretched.
