I don’t care for the merger. Too big of a monopoly for sure !!!

    1. Carol

I have lived my whole life in a town next to CP and I’ve seen many changes to CP , to the good so this doesn’t surprise me! Just keep it affordable and fun with great food!!!

      1. BJ

        And safe

      2. Not Yours

Don’t worry, with six flags now running it, it will be totally unaffordable now and will soon be run into the ground just like all the other parks they own!

        1. Dee

          True

          1. B Barnett

It’s “America’s Roller Coast,” not “America’s Roller Coaster.”

        2. John

Exactly. Sin it will just be another run down plot of land like geauga lake

        3. Claire D

Just like they did to Geauga Lake…

        4. Tammey

          That is so true.

        5. Jaymonster

Six Flags isn’t running it. The majority of positions in the executive level of the deal are Cedar Fair. They just chose to use the Six Flags name.

    2. Bill

Show me a time and example of any monopoly ever being good for the consumer? Hate it!!!

      1. Lea

They will run cedar point in the ground just like they ran all of their own into the ground

        1. Kelly

Me n my sister r from Delaware. We have been to the park twice the last time when they celebrated there 150th year. It sucks G.A. is closing it. Haven’t been to there parks since the 90s n will not ever go to one again

      2. Todd

Just FYI, Power Tower is not a water ride.

        1. M

          Abd the Maverick isn’t wooden!

  2. Tom

Great News for the thrill seekers..

What I find funny is cedar fair bought out six flags geauga lake . Because , six flags built up geauga lake to fast and couldn’t pay off it debits. Now cedar fair is joining them in this merger. Wow.
My fear is how will this effect our beloved park. And what are going to be the major changes are their going to be or how high are prices going to go up.
When Six flags parks then everything is outrageous high priced. The only thing. I hope is that now with them joining. Will be able to go to all the parks and the season passes will be still affordable.
And as far as peta. I think they need to mind their own business. These animals and letting farm has been here since cedar fair put in frontier town. No animals or people where hurt. This happens and was a accident.

      1. Not Yours

(P)people(E)ating(T)asty(A)animals can never mind their own business. They are a fascist group that likes to dictate what other people and places can do!

        1. John

I hate what this world of greed has become.

      2. Pat

I hate to see Cedar Point become just another Six Flags.I grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland and Dad took us twice a year.No park compares!

  3. Cedar Point & Six Flags sounds like a great merger, bring back frontier town, keep the older coasters, sky tram,& relic rides!
Make the entry prices more affordable & make more affordable food eateries!
A beach dance hall resembling the early 1900’s would be great too!!!!

    1. Not Yours

“Make the entry prices more affordable”???
Not going to happen with six flags! Just wait till you have to pay $17 just for a hamburger!

  4. SueB

Knott’s Berry Farm is NOT in Anaheim! Don’t like the idea at all – getting too big and too expensive!

    1. Lea

I love Knott’s berry farm. Spent my childhood there liked it more than Disneyland to be honest

  5. Carl

The Maverick is not wooden. The Power Tower is not a water ride. Did AI write this without being checked afterwards?

    1. Pam

I went to Six Flags after it bought out Geauga Lake. Half of the rides were out of service. I dont see this merger as a good thimg but time will tell.

    2. Heather

And it’s called America’s Roller Coast, not Rollercoaster.

  6. Kista

I don’t like the idea of Six Flags having control of Cedar Point. Just look what they did to Geauga Lake and Sea World in very short order here in Ohio. Gone, Gone, Gone!!!

    1. Gary

Carl, this is the Internet. Please define “check afterwards”.

      1. Angelita

I don’t like the idea of Carowines here in Charllotte, being bought out by Six Flags either. Please don’t Six Flags my Carowines!!!

    2. David

Read again who the CEO will be of the new merger entity

      1. Jaymonster

Exactly. Everyone worrying about what Six Flags is going to do, but they are not in control after the merger. Six Flags was the more recognizable name so they took it to use across the new entity, but it is cedar Fair executives that are in charge of the new company.

  7. Brandon

Well, there goes the only thing that made Ohio stand out from the rest

    1. Jen

Love CP! I have been going there since I was a small child in Kiddie Land to an adult and taking my kids there. We all love it. I hope they don’t change too much.

      1. Not Yours

With six flags in charge, the only thing that will change is it will now be unaffordable!

  8. Vicki

Not a good Merger Six flags will just close it like Geauga lake and Sea World . too many changes anys going on at Cedar Point , especially the cost of getting in in the food and going completely cashless if you haven’t been there in 10 or 20 years and you wasnt aware its all cashless not good ! i understand they have the Cash to Card but you take cash to buy the card who then knows how much cash youll need for the day ?? us old school kids have no clue about these things . please dont sale Cedar Point Ohio wont come back from such a loss !

  9. B Roberts

Makes me sad. The end of an era. I grew up going there several times a year. Then took my children. I’m 67 now, at least I have the memories 😢

  10. Gonzo

Major corporations and mergers always end up badly, especially for the employees involved.

  11. Pat

I hate to see Cedar Point become just another Six Flags.I grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland and Dad took us twice a year.No park compares!

  12. Dee

Well… Went in 2022 so the kids could visit for the first and last time. Sad about it but what can you do

  13. B

Just look at what both them did to Geauga Lake and Sea World.

  14. More proof that bigger is NOT better! So much for the good times and history.

  15. Larry Willis Jr

More proof that bigger is NOT better. Greed wins! Ohio loses!

  16. They are way too high priced . It’s outrageous what they charge . I have not gone in 5 years cause so high

  17. Tammey

Six flags took over Geaga Lake years ago, whelp we see how that turned out. There is no more Geaga Lake. Say goodbye to Cedar point!

  18. Yves

Six Flags was the contributing factor for the closure of Geauga Lake. It seems that they ruin everything they’re involved in. This is a disaster waiting to happen…
