Hey Acolyte, BUH-BYE and good riddens. You don’t blame the viewer when the show is bad, that only alienates people even when the show takes a good turn.

    1. Kelsey GRAMMAR

      *Riddance*

      1. CactusHeart

        THANK YOU!!!!

      2. Bring Luke back, I was so afraid when Disney bought it. Seem like its coming true.

      3. Cedric Coleman

And we need to QUIT using celebrities’s full names as your screen name! You are NOT them. Be creative–like, kelseygfan13 or something. It means the actors who we claim to like do much, can’t use their real names and are forced to create a name, which I’d what the fans should be doing instead. Would you want someone to put YOUR name on here making comments people will think are you without your apptoval?

    2. Soviet

      The shoes not bad though

  2. Rolecage

this fan is loving all the Disney plus star wars in all its forms and hope they ignore the racist fans out there and hope the viewing numbers show a different picture

  3. Ben Skywalker

I hope so. 7, 8 and 9 were bad copies of 4, 5 and 6 with a heavy dose of woke. The Acolyte is a train wreck. The Legends books were amazing. They could have made episodes 7-9 off of The New Jedi Order or something else from legends.

    1. Bob

Yes those books authorized by George Lucas were all winners and slowly showed Luke growing and Mastering the Force. Always good story lines, plot twists and the Force is ALWAYS with Luke! Pay attention Disney!!!! Those Books will give you back the Fans you have alienated!

      1. Yes, that’s the right idea.

        1. Jt

Kennedy needs to never touch anything Star Wars ever again. She’s the worst.

        2. Aaron Nelson

Why can’t they pull their heads out of their asses and just make a Darth Maul show? Bringing CG Luke Skywalker back is just going to make everything worse.

      2. Blamter

As long as the road still leads to Luke dying Luke a loser drinking green milk I’m not watching

        1. Blamter

          Minor spelling mistake point ruined

      3. Notoshows

Just kill all this crap. No need to make shows and crap movies. Just focus on good storytelling and take a few years and make quality movies. Too much shows. I’d rather watch a good movie a few years and have fans wait with something really good. There’s too much stuff that it’s saturated.

    2. Matt

Sadly, the current plan is to push a Rey version of New Jedi Order….ugh….not an ampistaff or vorundumm armor to be seen……broom Kathleen Kennedy and let Filoni and Favreau mold Star Wars

    3. Doggiedoo

What made the sequel movies woke?

  4. Dr. Carrot

They’re silly. It’s about good storytelling. You must have good writing, like Andor. That show was amazing. CGI doesn’t make shovelware interesting.

  5. J. Payne

If “bring back Luke Skywalker” is their main takeaway, they’ve missed the point entirely. Star Wars needs competent writers who are committed to telling good stories and developing good character. If they get that right, people will watch all the Star Wars they can produce, regardless of who the protagonist is or what they look like. If they don’t they’ll continue to hemorrhage viewers, regardless of who the protagonist is or what they look like.

Disney is catering to a different crowd.
“The Stranger” just gained Disney+ millions of new subscribers.

Guys between the ages of 3 and 99 are playing video games, they are an unreliable audience.

Star Wars is a Global franchise. Disney is going to appeal to a global audience.

Who spends more time watching TV?
    Women.
    Who has disposable income?
    Women.
Even Grogu was designed to attract little girls.
‘The Acolyte’ is for their moms.

    1. wansai ounkeo

Guys are the most reliable audience to target, especially for sci-fi fantasy content like Star Wars. They are far more loyal and will put their money down if the show is good enough, even if it isn’t great.

All of Star Wars success is due to male fans, most of whom are probably gamers.

The female fanbase is small in comparison. Star Wars catering to frmale fanbase is like Barbie catering to a male fanbase.

      It is nonsensical.

      1. Jordon Lewis

They have Hayden Christensen who is begging to be in a Star Wars project. The fans are begging for more Hayden Christensen in a Star Wars project. So naturally Disney is totally ignoring this in pursuit of literally any other avenue. IMO opinion a series focusing on the early days of Darth Vader actually hunting down Jedi before it getting farmed out to the Inquisitorious is a no-brainer. They could even call it…Hmmm…Something catchy like…VADER. C’mon people it ain’t rocket science!!!

      2. Doggiedoo

When Star Wars first released in 1977 all people were amazed by it men and women boys and girls. Yes there are probably more male fans than female, however there were no video games, or world wide web in 1977. So no, most Star Wars fan aren’t gamers. Your knowledge is very limited. Men work seventy hours a week? Perhaps a few but its not the norm. You read pretty angry at women. You should seek therapy.

      3. It be better just to reboot the whole series with younger actors playing the parts of Luke Skywalker and Leia and Han Solo, they are a replace Chewbacca the actor who plays them I don’t even believe it is even alive anymore, And in regards to R2-D2 and C-3PO R2D2 doesn’t even speak and C3PO can be voiced by Anthony Daniels and another person can be wearing the suit

    2. Paul Faulkner

Hey! I’m a 43 year old dude and I have dozens of Grogu things. And I can’t wait for him to be on the big screen.

      1. As what a puppet

    3. Sky

Going back to Luke is as smart as the current direction. Luke’s time has passed. You can’t get stuck on one character. People want new and good. Focus on the universal story and not a personal narrative within it. It should be about a generally relatable character to everyone. Personal nuances should be secondary.

      1. Anon

No, just no. You’re telling a fandom that has literally wanted to see Luke’s personal progression, to an all powerful force entity, for almost 50 years, that it doesn’t matter? Luke’s rise to power may be the one story, in any world, that outweighs the universal story.

      2. Yeah I fully agree with you, they could have Luke son continue the story on ward but you can’t do storylines based on sexual identity politics and pandering and race swapping, that never gonna work there is so much lore out there but they refuse to use the books, and just did a rehash of episode 4 and made Rey into a Mary Sue, which backfired on them Star Wars has always been the male dominated fantasy

    4. darth gator

And, yet, those moms aren’t watching The AcoSHYTE in sufficient numbers to make it remotely successful. In fact, no Star Wars series targeting a majority female or “modern” audience has been terribly successful. It’s almost as if telling the group that made the IP wildly successful that they are neither needed nor wanted is a terrible idea…

    5. Jt

      Disagree.it needs to be good.

    6. Boppertrooper

This just sounds like you’re saying the SW fandom is entirely male which isn’t at all the case.

There are many women in the fandom who have been extremely vocal and critical about the poor quality of the show. Just look at SnarkyJay on YouTube for one example.

It’s mainly the writing that makes this show so bad. The plot holes (of which there are many) and complete disregard for canon just spit on everything that has come before.

      1. Yes there’s always been a large female presence in Star Wars Princess Leia is the leader of the Rebellion but the problem is that the current IP in regards to Disney is focused on sexual identity Politics the writing is bad the pacing is bad there’s no character development at all and they think this having a person say I’m gay or trans is enough or this person say hey you know what I’m black I’m Hispanic I’m Asian that should be enough no you got to have a serious character development that’s the only way it’s going to be profitable but you can’t just put a person in a role of a Jedi and say yeah just stand there because you’re black or Hispanic or Asian or Middle Eastern for Indian that’s pandering

  7. Jeda

Disney “We’re barely treading water here, so let’s bring back Luke Skywalker as our central character. But let’s do something nobody will see coming. We’ll turn him into a chick, and make her gay”.

  8. Chuck

Hamil has gone so woke I don’t think anyone would come back to watch him play Luke.

    1. Hobb Farmtoop

That’s patently untrue and you know it – most fans would rather see him in the role, if possible. If an actor’s political beliefs puts you off their portrayal of a magical space wizard, you need to take a good hard look at yourself.

      1. J

What he said is true for a lot of people and your dismissal is similiar to how Disney reacts and here we are.

    2. I don’t believe Mark Hamill is woke I just believe that he is trying to adapt and don’t want to offend nobody But even he said himself that in the books Luke Skywalker had a son and everything he wasn’t pleased with the performance that he gave in those movies he did not want to have a little sitting on the island drinking green milk

  9. BG

I don’t think bringing Luke back will help at all after you have damaged the brand to this degree. SW fans are in a total freefall of absolute Apathy…..Disney bred that by allowing it to go on for far too long….I don’t know if Luke, Han, Lea, Yoda…..none of them can save it at this point….

The only way SW is saved, is if it gets sold to another company that cares about it as an IP…..and not just caring in a “product” corporate sense…..I mean really care about it…..maybe a insanely wealthy Arab that grew up with it buys it and returns it to its roots and does what Disney did to much of the EU and makes all Disney garbage “Officially” non-cannon. Then you might have a starting point.

But, I feel it’s going to take a clean slate…..with a new owner….even if you told me Luke and s back….I don’t trust it in the hands of Disney.

I mean, how are you returning it to Luke, when you just announced some Iranian, documentary lady that wants to make men uncomfortable is getting the next big project???

KK and BI are out of their minds, they are too old and not in touch with fanboy mentality, which is what a company needs when properly making this stuff. BOTH, Marvel and SW were never in Disney’s wheelhouse…..they should have stayed in their lane…..family friendly animated fare for general audiences…..I told everyone that would listen to me a decade ago that Disney getting SW would end terribly…..and I feel sadly justified.

women spend more time on the TV because they have nothing interesting about them while their man works 70 hours a week. they don’t have disposable income, they are receiving it from someone else or they are being plain irresponsible. grogu was designed with the same intent as r2d2/c3p0 or har jar binks, as comedic relief. the people who have grew up on. lived with, and have loved star wars and really pay attention to it without bias are the ones who really know how to catch attention and the majority are men. Disney wants woke, and they want messages. and they want to persuade women into something because women are the biggest spenders of money in the US

    1. Doggiedoo

You have some resentments against women. Mommy issues? Seek therapy and don’t date women, please.

  11. Cecil

The only fixing it is by completely scrapping the horrid sequels. Just erase them from Canon.

  12. They should drop episodes 7 to 9 from cannon. Switch to the wonderful EU stories. But replace Luke, Leia, and Han with age-appropriate actors. Think it can’t be done? Check out the 2009 reboot of the original Star Trek series.

    1. Paul Faulkner

I’m not really interested in the EU stories because I’ve already read them. Sometimes in novel and comic form. In the EU we knew how Chewie died for instance. Why would I want to see that on screen, when I already know what’s going to happen? I like that Disney started from scratch. Bringing in a few things from the EU/Legends when they can find a way, like Thrawn. I think where Disney ran into problems with the sequels wasn’t creating new stories, it was having cohesive direction on all three at the beginning. So that TLJ didn’t try and retcon TFA and then RoS retcon TLJ.
And as far as bringing on other actors to play these roles, I LOVED Solo, but it tanked hardcore at the box office.
Plus cgi/deep fake and recasting hasn’t been done consistently. In Solo, both Han and Lando are recast. In Rogue One, Dodonna and Mothma are recast but Tarkin and Leia are CGI. And of course Luke in the series. If they are going to tell stories in this era they need to be consistent with how it’s done.

      1. darth gator

Yeah, adapting stories from other media into films and TV series is something no one wants. That’s why no one has ever managed to create a successful film franchise by adapting comic books, fantasy novels, plays/musicals, etc…

    2. Doggiedoo

It is almost an entirely different show. JJ Abrams wrote that mediocre movie. He ruined Star Wars, too.

  13. Ahmad Izham

More comments.. on sequel trilogy… correct issues likes of rey takes skywalker names ‘kills old skool like me’… use mark hamill and carrie fisher daugther more ‘than a simple nod’ on skywalker name… master lucas opinion must be gain on this…

  14. darth gator

Continually repeating the worn out and demonstrably false accusations that Star Wars fans hate female and POC protagonists simply demonstrated your complete lack of intelligence and critical thinking, Inside the Magic. No one cares how much melanin a character has, the bits they keep between their legs, nor what kind of bits they like to rub their bits against. Fans reject objectively terrible stories populated by incredibly uninteresting characters played by dull planks of wood. And that’s essentially all LFL has produced since Disney bought it.

Maybe you should stop gaslighting and actually discuss the real issues people have with Disney Wars. But that would probably result in revoking your access, wouldn’t it?

  15. Brian

What the world really needs, is a live action Hondo and the pirates of the galaxy series.

  16. Diego

There is always backlash with certain fans, those are the ones that after 20 years they starting to like the revenge of the sith and get crazy about Hayden C…..
All the shows are great and explain a lot of the history of Star Wars as a whole.
Keep bringing the shows please and I hope all this speculation becomes real.

  17. essay

Just recast Luke with Sebastian Stan already. Fans have been clamoring for it for years.

    1. BLURCH

Agreed we don’t need to have the original Luke we get it it’s 50 years later. Digital overlays isn’t that cost efficient for an entire series recast.

  18. Paul Reeves

I am a Star Wars forever fan…even when many fans are bashing The Acolyte, I will still watch any & all Star Wars films & fan created short films. As far as future plans, I always thought they could make full length Star Wars films based upon the novels of Star Wars Young Jedi Academy, the academy Luke Skywalker started. It will bring entire family base of fans back!

  19. Smegma skywalker

They have thousands of years they could use in stories. Go back to the sith empire or tell the story of yoda jedi master or of the beginning of the jedi order. There’s literally hundreds of avenues they can choose

    1. Glen

Give is a Darth Bane movie

  20. K

    Disney
Please give Star Wars back to George
    Thank you old school fans

  21. Reaper

Kathleen Kennedy is the biggest problem with Star Wars

  22. Dennis

Just dump Kennedy. She’s the problem.
Give Dave Filoni full control. Anything he controls is gold.

  23. Evan

Maybe the reason Star Wars is receiving backlash is because it’s bad? This article seems to insinuate that it’s the fans fault Disney is incapable of producing high quality entertainment these days.

  24. SW

Still blaming the fans and ‘Muh bigots’ for Acolytes failure? You’re why everyone hates journos

    1. Darth Marty

With people like you commenting and rating shows we might as well cancel Disney and Lucas art’s completely.
Thanks for ruining shows many of us enjoy.

  25. They should ignore the sequel trilogy and most of the D+ series except for The Mandalorian.

Follow the Expanded Universe with a new Thrawn and Luke Skywalker, but replace Hamill with another actor. ‘Star Trek’ 2007 did this surprisingly well.
