Perhaps they closed early because all the virtual que guests had gone through. When we were at Magic Kingdom, the attraction opened late in the day on 7/16/24 a small group of guests were able to ride it. We didn’t get into the que at all. On 7/19/24, we got into a grouping and had to wait hours for it to open. We did get to ride it finally. We were rushed through the que and did not get to really look at the photos imagineers put up in the que of Tiana’s father or the “Easter eggs”.
Splash mountain should have been left alone. Tiana should have had her own attraction. Disney could have done so much more with that. With all the new technology that exists now they could have done a completely innovated attraction. Look how great Avatar is. And there’s so much more they could have done for Princess Tiana. Disney was doomed from the beginning taking away splash mountain! Serves them right!
This failed redo is only a small part of a much larger picture. Take a look at Disney’s stock price today, back down to 89.91. I don’t see anything in the near future except maybe the earnings of Inside Out 2 that will do much to raise the stock price. That said, I had my fingers crossed that the return of Bob Iger might change Disney’s wokeness, even a little bit. I guess I shouldn’t have wished upon a star, “My bad”.
Considering Disney is going woke as possible. They probably use DEI hiring. Instead of hiring for knowledge and skill. That’s why rides are not getting fixed properly.
this is what happens when everyone in engineering classes get passed, then you use the lowest bidder for the project and have DEI hires, Disney has lost it way look at the disaster over at Epcot, what we were promised and what we got are very different. In the past you could count on Disney to be the best in innovation and entertainment. they seam now only to be interested in the bottom line and appearance. raise the ticket prices and patch all the rides together people will still come and not notice.

Being back Splash Mountain. Never should have listened to the small crowd of people with the big mouths.

The only thing I didn’t like was virtual que. I had to wait over 8 hrs just to be called into line and wait another hour to ride it. Enjoyed the ride.
