I don’t know why I can’t learn to not click on Inside the Magic links. This is absurd.
In my opinion, Disney should build a nice pool and reopen the Starcruiser hotel as an expensive-end moderate resort. Keep the decor and theming, skip the rest.
The normal hotel cast members can dress appropriately to the Star Wars theme.
“Now, fans are shocked to learn that Disney Imagineers are using Starcruiser to influence the design of a most likely place.” This is nonsense, did AI write this.
Also what shameful pandering, this is embarrassing
Ugh…. if I am going toe staying Ina canp ground, I’d like my cabin themed to my surroundings! They are ruining the entire ambience of Fort Wilderness! Star Wars should stay in Hollywood Studios and let Fort Wilderness stay it’s rustic, natural self. If they wanted to bring the Star Wars theme to the resorts, they have the Halcyon ready to go…just add water!
Ugh. People were complaining that the new “cabins” at FW didn’t look very rustic and now perhaps we know why. Disney seems to be having trouble lately with theming things appropriately. Many are blaming the Las Vegas types they brought in to design everything instead of having Imagineers do it in house like they used to. It shows. It isn’t Disney.
Not that WDW needs another resort to crowd the parks further, but I’m at a loss as to why Disney doesn’t open the Galactic Starcruiser as a regular resort and book guests without the “immersive experience”. It’s already themed and guests would pile in for a reasonable rate. Add a Star Wars themed pool with a slide that feels like you’re going warp speed and set up a bus stop to get guests to other parks. Disney would probably make bank on it.
I think the building’s location makes that impossible. It’s kind of tucked away “backstage” of the rest of Disney. Traffic to and from would interfere with the logistics and create possible security issues
That’s the problem, everyone says “throw a pool in it” like that would solve things. It wouldn’t, the Starcruiser is 90% show building with around 100 actual rooms to sleep in. Also where the building is situated backstage and getting guests to and from parks would be a nightmare, not to mention there’s very little parking, it’s all cast parking.
It failed because it proved out the average Start Wars fan, not because it was a bad idea. I personally would LOVE the chance to stay there, but could t afford it.
I recently visited Galaxy’s Edge for the first time and saw the potential but at the same time was disappointed. Not as cool as the stuff that was being done before Galaxy’s Edge opened.
Disney is sitting on a gold mine and just doesn’t understand what to do with it.
The issue is price. The Starcruiser idea was great. But it was beyond the price range of the average family. Just like Disneyland is now becomming too expensive. They just need to be less greedy and it will take off.
Personally I would LOVE to see the Halcyon Star Cruiser/Hotel reopened!!! The main problem was that it was too expensive…. If Disney can figure out a way to market the idea to be more affordable this could work…. They would need to make it open to the public so that anyone can visit it. Everyone should have a chance to participate in the cosplay events. In addition to this, There should be another option for guest to stay at a separate hotel with the same interior and settings. This way it could be available to everyone instead of a select few who can barely afford it!

I guess working for Disney is like joining a gang… you don’t just leave Disney… Disney tells you when they are done with you

Why would anyone who chooses to stay in a Fort Wilderness cabin be happy with a Star Wars room? Can’t be further apart in themes than that.
