I didn’t care for their take on YouTube culture, tbh. It felt very non-Bluey.

Hilariously honest take I think. Perhaps your personally offended by what the mirror showed you.

It was a cartoon, the actual actors weren’t on screen so their identity was safe. It was pretty typical muffin, not a terrible episode.

Take a pause – breathe. It was a funny minisode. Enjoy – don’t – move on.

Anyone that thinks this episode doesn’t fit with what Bluey’s all about is clearly misunderstanding the perspective of the show’s creators. This is 100% something I’d expect from them.
The only thing I’d disagree with from this article is the statement that the ethics of child influencers and YouTube culture is something of a wildcard. There’s no real question on the matter from the perspective of anyone that’s actually studied child development or psychology from an academic perspective. The world of social media and it’s effect on children is increasingly harmful. There’s no disputing it, as rates of depression, anxiety, and suicide skyrocket at increasingly younger ages. Bluey taking a stab at that, is very much a good thing, and I wish more popular children’s media would fight against it. The problem is, of course, few shows are as committed to the mental and emotional health of young people. Most just want the money, and have a hard time arguing against an unethical source of income.

My toddler and I found the episode amusing. I think it’s it’s great they bring in bits of reality here & there. Just small moments, like when mom Chilli flips out trying to get the girls out of the house for their playdate with Judo. My toddler cracks up watching that episode EVERY time because it’s me, when frustrated!! I have no qualms about admitting I’m not a perfect parent or person, for that matter. Muffin Unboxed, is just another moment of reality. We love the Bluey family, all together, and the show is wonderful. These moments of reality, to me, are great because we all know life and parenting aren’t always perfect or easy and while the majority of us strive to be great parents, we all have our moments!! I wouldn’t want the show to be like that all the time, but these little moments of reality, are a great mix. As well as it showcases different families, have different rules and realities. Nothing wrong with that lesson. While we wouldn’t have our kids be Youtube stars or force our kids to do anything like that, to each their own. Bandit & Chilli clearly parent differently than Stripe & Trixie. Aside from pushing/forcing something unnecessary onto a child, there’s nothing wrong with different parenting styles. That’s another subject for a different day though!!

I saw nothing wrong with this episode and those who were “offended” by it need to lighten up. My daughter LOVES Bluey and thoroughly enjoyed the Minisodes, so much so she watched all 8 a couple times over. I find that Bluey touches on some important topics and as a parent made me look at things differently and actually has made me a better parent. I find certain episodes actually open the door for conversation, for example, my daughter, who is 5 (and is very curious like most kids) asked me what pregnant was after watching the “Early Baby” episode. I honestly think the Muffin Unboxing minisode was light-hearted, and I even found myself laughing

It’s a funny episode. True form of Muffin. If anyone is offended by it, they can keep their opinions to themselves and move along. Bluey is great, mini episodes included.

As an actual kids’ content creator on YouTube, I loved it!

Very honest and realistic. My ten year old daughter and I thought it was great! There are lessons to be learned in every episode 🤗

This was literally mine and my kid’s favorite mini episode. Muffin is hilarious. People who judge this cartoon too harshly really need to contemplate what is wrong with their perspectives.

They did a wonderful job calling out the toxic environment that is children on social media (where they don’t belong). Children should be kids, enjoying childhood, not forced to perform for mom & dad. Well done Bluey!

Muffin unboxing had my husband and me in stitches from laughing. Muffin is his favorite character and we love how it takes a stab at the youtube unboxing culture. Our 2 older girls are on youtube alot and now put it into their play.
