So if it does it does cost of living is high people need to be paid above starvation wages. Elites won’t like it that want to experience a magical Disney day while cast mementos sleep in their cars It could be better- this is this first step in breaking down an unfair feudal system
To all cast members, please walk out on strike and don’t settle for anything less then $65.00 an hour and no part time employees allowed. $65.00 an hour is barely making rent in a safe part of Ca. and with all the super high taxes and gasoline prices the local government imposes and tax hikes the residents of California vote on themselves you should be paid nothing less. The union should be paying your bills for you while your on strike, after all your group pays them hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in dues. So shut them down for another year and a half, just like covid. You show them who runs that company.
Fire them all? Do you know how much work cast members put in every day they are on stage at Disneyland? I was a cast member at Disneyland for a little over three years in the mid-1980s to late 1989, and I remember going to college during the day and as soon as I was done hi to the park go to my locker change into my costume go on stage and you put so much work in every single day you are on stage as a cast member and I only made two or three dollars above minimum wage and I was lucky that I lived at home because I could not have survived on what I earned. Disneyland is a wonderful and beautiful place. It is full of fantasy and wonder for children and adults alike, and every single cast member who works at the park to make that fantasy live for every guest. You have no idea how hard we worked, and the cast members still do to this day. I have several friends who are still working at the park; some of them were hired together with me. Every single cast member deserves fair wages, well above minimum wage and I mean well above minimum wage. We poured our souls into whatever cast member position we were assigned. We worked so hard, and the park is at least three times busier than it was when I was a cast member there! I am deeply saddened to discover that cast members are not receiving adequate wages to survive in our current economy because the price of everything has gone up and as sad as it makes me to hear that Disneyland might have to close down for an unknown amount of time should there be a strike, as a previous cast member of Disneyland, I must say that I do back the union and the cast members for this decision. Should the board of directors not really work at putting together a fair wage for each cast member, and I think that Disneyland should still use part-time cast members as well as full-time cast members, because many of those part-time cast members are in college or they’re working another job. I don’t think it’s fair to say that Disneyland cannot have part-time cast members, but I think Disneyland should come out and work with the union and give cast members a fair wage packet because it is well-deserved for the amount of work the cast members do at each shop restaurant attraction, etc. their heart and soul is poured in everything each cast member does each day and they deserve fair wages!
