I have been going to Knott’s, from the age of 10, when it was FREE. My mom would pack a picnic lunch for the 4 of us and we would eat it in one of the covered wagons. There were donkeys, you could ride by the mystery house, which was free, also. Of course, Mott’s miniatures, was a must see and it opened our eyes to the vast potential of our imaginations. The bottle house, made way so my brother, Corey, could build a diorama for school featuring a mini bottle house made out of bits of bottles.
When I was in 5th grade, I was on a field trip with, Smith Elementary, in Huntington Beach and it happened that Dick Clark was there filming a promotion for an upcoming show of his. He asked me to sit on his lap, to get a publicity shot. It was 1965 (When I think of it now, there’s no way, that any of us, would allow our child to do this) there were no papers signed or permissions needed. It just happened.
The day ended with the requisite ride on the stagecoach an iconic staple since right after they opened the theme park and remains today. Along with the steam train.
When my kids were young, I would take them to Knott’s and regale them with stories about Knott’s back then. Once, the eye rolls were complete, they would say, “Can we go have fun now ?”
Memories are implanted but, Knott’s is on my heart ! 💜

Our granddaughter has been so bummed that her favorite rides have been closed. We can’t wait to see her ride her Snoopy Land rides again.

I grew up within walking distance of Knott’s. I went to Walter Knott elementary school for grades 5 and 6 in 1966-67. Knott’s was free to roam around. There were only a few rides. No tickets. Paid cash for rides.W hen I was a teenager. the park was enclosed and it was a dollar to get in. They built the John Wayne Theater for concerts. I saw Paul Revere and the Raiders there. When I was still in elementary school we would play cowboys and Indians in the wagon camp area. So many good memories.

With the Cedar Fair and Six Flags merger there should be more money available to support the upgrades

They can’t without Casandra Mandevilles permission, this is actually her park. As been since 1997. It was left to her, in her mother’s will, Cordelia Knott. These fake CEOS know this. They are all the time making fun of her, giving death threats, making fun of her family.
To let you know, these imposters, actually hate babies and children. Since they stole Casandras park, they made it very known, they will get rid of anything to do with camp snoopy.
Once Casandra gets her park back this year, she will close it and clean house.

She will clean up and retore everything her family has done. Casandra has been fighting for her park since 1997, that’s when she became the true CEO of Knotts berry far.

Casandra Mandevilles is not a child of Cordilla Knott.
