    The ancient ruins in the set photos could be one of the five ancient native temples on Las Cinco Muertes, the five island group containing Isla Sorna.

    Also, the modern Planet of the Apes movies are essentially prequels to the original films that take place thousands of years in the future, so I’m not sure that the newest one taking place a few centuries from now counts as evolving the franchise.

    Watching the animated series on Netflix may help answer a lot of questions. Both Camp Cretaceous, and its sequel series Chaos Theory, privilege a lot of addl info. In Chaos Theory, they introduced what is heavily implied to be a human-dino hybrid, so it seems extremely likely that the new trilogy will go that route.
