    A Ouija board. Not an.

    1. MaPo

Ouija starts with a vowel, therefore “an” is proper.

      1. NPatrick

No. Ouija is pronounced with a W sound, which is a consonant. Therefor it is preceded by “a”, not “an”. Just read the wikipedia or dictionary entry for ouija.

        1. Starskeptic

          Thank you NPatrick!

The magic we realized is gone.

    2. Cheryl

I’m really happy to hear that Disney is slowly returning to the Fast pass. The Genie+ was a complete disaster in my experience. A waste of money!
I, too, missed the traditional values most of us have known and loved.
I do believe in inclusivity but do so gradually. As you stated, hardcore Disney fans don’t like change. So when there is drastic change from traditional family values to extreme inclusivity there’s a problem for those fans. I personally know someone who says they will never take their grandchildren to Disney with what it’s become. She enjoyed Disney when her own children were young.
I’m happy Disney has gotten the picture and is finally doing something to fix the problem and bring back the Magic 🪄✨

If they pretend the LGBTQ crowd doesn’t exist , universal will grab their dollars with Epic. Disney on the way out , they didn’t expand or reinvest . Doing the modern Star wars instead of the original I the theme parks was a major mistep. The Star wars hotel was beyond financial reach for most, and who wants to cosplay on vacation

    1. ELLEN

YOU ASK WHAT WOULD WALT WANT. I CAN TELL YOU WHAT HIS SISTER TOLD ME. MY GRANDMA GREW UP IN THE NEXT DOOR TO WALT + FAMILY IN KANSAS CITY, MO. SHE REMAINED IN TOUCH WITH HER BEST FRIEND RUTH UNTIL THEY BOTH PASSED IN THEIR 90’s. I HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING RUTH + HER HUSBAND IN THEIR PORTLAND HOME SEVERAL TIMES. THE LAST TIME I SAW RUTH WAS IN JUL 1994. SHE TOLD ME WALT + ROY WOULD BE VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE DISNEY COMPANY NEGATIVE CHANGES!
I HOPE WALT WILL ONE DAY ‘TURN IN HIS GRAVE’ WITH HAPPINESS.

      1. Mcabu

        Ok, no need to shout.

        1. Ann

          Mcabu,
Some people with vision problems use all capital letters, not shouting.

      2. Dennis

It’s very sad that Disney is catering to the woke culture which is the minority. We have been to Disneyland for vacation when our kids were little and have gone a couple times since they have become adults. I don’t know if we will ever go back. We have even canceled our Disney +. . Disney did this to themselves!

        1. mipooh

It is that the woke situation but it is the money situation. period!! The average family can no longer afford to go to Disney. The costs, to get in, to eat there, to even stay there. Plus having to use genie+ where you are even charged more money to get on certain rides. Plus you are constantly on the app trying to reserve rides.Take your child to a character breakfast can be anywhere from $35-$125 per person depending on date & time. When my child was young we made 5 different trips to Disney World, but at this date & time I won’t go back. I would go to Universal if I ever went back to FL.

    2. T-Dog

You can’t afford to ignore these groups now. You’ve gone too deep. Groups like the LGBTQ+ don’t attack companies for not being inclusive. They attack them for catering to these groups and then backtracking when their core audiences begin to turn against them. Best bet is to never go down that road in the first place.

    3. JohnL

Not with the recent changes to DAS that exlude a whole class of people including veterans and first resonders suffering with PTSD … Disney just took o whole giant step backwards .. stop fraud .. absolutely .. deny true needs .. never

      1. Sherri

Absolutely and then they had the audacity to mention it bogging down the Lightning Lane, too. ChaChing! Perhaps if they didn’t force the DAS crowd to wait in the LL after already waiting the given wait time of the ride. We used to go the exit. I hear they’re so many people down for a DAS. I’m waiting for the ADA lawsuits to begin. I haven’t been since before Covid and every time I start missing it and think about going, something else comes up. At 65, I doubt I’ll ever return.

  3. Lisa

Bring back everything original, but with a more modern twist.

Please lower the costs on the resorts and character meals

I think people have forgotten a lot of the original Disney Classic values, because everything now is about being aggressive, taking control, cellphones, tablets, and I want, want, want.

You don’t see Tom Sawyers, Huckleberry Finns, Jane Banks and Michael Banks, The Kids from The Apple Dumpling Gang, “The Mickey Mouse Club kids” or kids like in The Bridge to Terabithea, or even Mya in The Princess Diaries, anymore.

Kids now are hooked on staying inside and playing videogames, unless they have enthusiastic parents who make time for their kids.

How about forming another “Mickey Mouse Club” or “Favorite Disney Character Club” with interactive activities for each Season and have where anyone can get a chance to WIN discounts on resort rooms, merchandise, tickets, etc.

    1. Carol Halter

The magic could start with special little things that help make a Disney trip special. The extra smile from a Disney cast member, the extra desert, the assistance from cast members when something goes wrong, time when you receive special recognition for just being a part of the “magic!” Bring it back, start with cast members going out of their way to make it happen. And stop charging excessive amounts for little things, like delivering a package to your room/hotel without charging $48, especially after paying an extreme amount for a ticket to get into the parks! Those are the things that need to happen!

  4. Michelle

Disney needs to get back to Family Core Values. Haven’t seen a good movie in ages and the Theme parks have gone down hill. Catering to people and changing rides because a Mom can’t answer a child’s question on Pirates. Here’s a thought, that is what Pirates did or dont ride the ride. They changed the Jungle Cruise and took away Splash Mountain that had been open for over 30+years. The Magic is gone and needs to find it’s way back. Now they changed to the DAS pass and are excluding a lot of Disabled people because of spoiled entitled brats. Wake up Disney, wake up

    1. AH

DAS is basically gone. They are even excluding Make A Wish kids from skipping the line!

    2. Elaine Lewis

      I agree!

  5. Roy

I thought when Bob Iger came back and told us that the movie business would get back to storytelling and then fired some of the major players in the studios we were back on track. But then came The Acolyte, with its gay director and its homosexual undertones. It has become the worst series in the Star Wars franchise. I’m not so sure they have learned their lesson. Unlike Anheuser Bush.

    1. Steamboat Willie

Yes, because one trans woman in marketing is a reasonable excuse to “boycott” a company that owns like 45 percent of their industry.

Also, I’m pretty sure Daddy Iger was worse before that. Talking about how AI was the future and all that. And The Acolyte was blown entirely out of proportion because “WoKe!1!1!” Sure the show isn’t amazing, but it’s definitely not the worse thing to “grace” our screens (Velma).

      1. AH

They insulted their customers not only by having a dude who thinks he is a woman (insulting to women) but also directing their bile at their customer base.

  6. Jk

There are too many ideologues entrenched in Disney. Fire the lot. New management and creative teams are needed otherwise change will only be superficial.

    1. Daryl-Rhys

Honestly it’s America that needs to change not Disney. Your country sucks.

      1. Steamboat Willie

As an American, I have to agree. Somehow our country can’t even afford Universal Healthcare…

        1. Todd Hudson

It’s not that we can’t. Its that our country comes up with some of the most edge technologies in medicine anywhere that’s because od us paying for it. The problem is the pharmaceutical and medical in general costs to much. We need to make them stop with unnecessary procedures that cost way more then they should. Quit making medicine cost way more then they should. I just got bill for being airlifted to a hospital from another hospital only about 25 miles away costs 50000 alone not counting what they used on me during trip. Can’t tell me it costs that much.

          1. GAMOM

I was airlifted last year about the same distance. It was billed out at over $66K. Thank goodness Medicare and my supplement paid every penny. I was 72 years old at the time.

        2. AH

Sail away SBW and don’t come back.

      2. Bert

Yeah, but in a good way.

      3. AH

As an American I say stay away. You are probably free to post stupid comments because of the USA

  7. Charlene

I think your article was well written and covered many of the loyal Disney fans feelings. It has been a struggle for Disney but let’s hope family values are on the way back. I agree the price of tickets, resorts and character dinners are too high for families to make this a yearly vacation. I still love all things Disney!

  8. Rose

About time. I’ve been to Disney in recent years and they are so much more political. I go to Disney for the stories, not politics. I do love including different cultures, but I also like traditional plot where it’s about family. Like Coco, Moana, and Encanto. Good plot, good music, and family values. I missed feeling for the characters and caring about what happens to them. The last few few movies have completely missed this.

  9. Rose

I would love to be called a mousekateer/duckateer much better than being called friend at Disney. Bringing back the dining plan, and doing the fast lanes prior to vacation is a great idea. I like to pre plan vs. plan as I get there. It makes me do more adulting than focus on having fun with my family.

  10. Igar kills the magic Disney dream. Park name should be changed to Igerville wirh Disney’s parade and characters . Bring back:
    Original Figment ride
    Original Movie Ride.. its
    why its Grauman’s rheater
    Tarzan’s rollerskating
    monkeys
    Original stage productions
of past movies like Pocahontas, Hunchback,, etc.
    Original Little Mermaid (revamped)
    Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit
    More images

of Walt wirh his movie characters.
New Mermaid ride changed to Pinnocio or Bambi (have his mother captured by zoo instead of being shot)
Make stronger attractions that don’t break down.
Walts park was spotless. IGErs park is filthy!
Think of pleasing the children and the child in their parents.

    1. Eva

I went to Disney both CA and FL for years for a magical experience not for political and woke experiences. The majority of the country doesn’t want these views shuffled done our throats. We want Love America month not Gay Pride month. Keep politics and personal life styles out of the experience.

      1. Marie

        Wow!! Hate much?😲

        1. AH

          Nope

      2. Trevor

Except for your “lifestyle”? That one is ok, amiright? 🙄

  11. Patrick Laird

Yeah right, them basically sending Disney back to 2011 or so before they took over would be a sign of defeat – something they don’t want.

  12. MaPo

They’ve made moves before that looked to be moving away from activism, only to flip the script and double down. Right now I take everything with a grain of salt. Actions not words. Step 1, get rid of the top 3 people in every division including the board.

  13. Bill Wilson

I had annual passes in the late 70s, 80’s, 90’s early 2000’s with my kids and grandkids. I stopped when Disney went non-family friendly and told all of my family and friends why and they stopped too! I now have great grandkids and will consider taking them IF Disney returns to those values!

  14. Oh really

    1. Less concentration on ticking off virtue signaling checkboxes, more concentration on quality entertainment. 2. If they really want to be inclusive how about more reasonable prices.
    3. Our country is far from perfect but where else can you say stuff like that and still be around afterward. Feel free to leave if you find it that distasteful. Countless others are pretty eager to be here.

    1. Daryl Mc.

You know what the true great thing about this country is? I can find it distasteful, but because I love it so much, I can help it strive to be better to ALL Americans instead of wanting to keep YOUR version of exclusion.

  15. Chris Benker

Disney is trying to be “inclusive” by cramming their liberal views down everyone’s throats. NOT a good idea.
Walt Disney’s vision was tone family friendly (which they’re not by their outrageous prices!), and giving people a place to “escape” real everyday life.
We don’t want to go somewhere and have liberal political agenda!

  16. Steve

    Due to Disney new Metra,
I sold all my Disney Stock,
    Past trips to Disney world
[ when my kids were younger- 10 visit] will be no more, grandkids to
Dolly Land or Umiversal Park; but not any associated visits to Disney.
Enjoy their COMMUNIST Anti American 1612, CRT, WOLE, or BLM.

    1. Gryphonisle

I take it you renewed your klan membership

      1. Marie

        😂

      2. bubba smith

        MAGA 2024 chums!

    2. Mimi

We don’t want you there! Good bye!

  17. Phil

Thank God! Today’s Disney is not Walt’s dteam. We are thankful they have realized this. The company will regain fans and respect.

  18. Leeanna

It’s a wait and see situation. With the damage that has been done I had vowed never to go to a park again and I have been going for over 50 years. With all the price increases the average family can’t afford even a day, let alone a hotel stay. Genie+ has played to the elite and left the rest of us out. Let’s see what happens. I hope it improves. Also, they need to stop with the live action remakes. Go back to animation; they are so much better. Also in DW the new Moana area looks like nothing more than another sidewalk to go to other places. What a waste.

  19. You can only pick one (1) ….
1: $90.00 from the Walt Disney “Magic” Crowd
    Or
    2. $10.00 from the Walt Disney “WOKE” Crowd
How #2 working out for you…?

  20. Chava Padilla

I agree that Disney lost its traditional values. This along with increased cost has kept my family away.

  21. M. Mouse

Chris – Your are right about high prices. Disney Post COVID is too darned expensive. But what “liberal agenda” are you seeing at the parks? And if you think “Gay night”… We’ll they’ve been doing that since 1978.

    1. Gryphonisle

From what I’m hearing, Disney Tokyo blows the US parks out of the water; better line management; better food at substantially lower prices and better rides.

The difference is Disney doesn’t run those parks, so perhaps Disneys solution is to back out of park management here too

      1. Martin Rademakers

I had the unexpected opportunity to visit Disney Tokyo, and it was like Disney World 25 years ago. Super Clean, reasonable prices, great food and your not being forcedly fed woke and pride messages all day. And happy kids are everywhere.

    2. Fred Marple

      shhh… they don’t like facts 😂

  22. Gryphonisle

Traditional values centered around misogyny and general bigotry? I doubt most people of color, and single parents, see themselves as “alternative audiences” and decent people of all stripes are appalled at the open bigotry the Governor of Florida can express to the mainstream media, and get away with it.

    1. Fred Marple

Yes, exactly those ” values” they love them 😞

  23. David Bird

I do blame the “woke” crowd, the leadership who are pushing their “gay” agenda as seen in interviews, and not letting the creatives do their jobs. Disney can be magical but lately they have been shooting blanks.

  24. Marilee

They are going to have to do a huge effort with their movies before I ever consider even watching Disney movies again. We used to take our whole family to Disneyland every year. Haven’t been back for 8 years. We are going other places and have had wonderful experiences without Disneyland. Disneyland offended the family and came after our little kids. There’s no excuse for this. Especially since it was more for the kids. Shame on you. We’re never going back.

    1. Mimi

Good we don’t want you there. Bye!

  25. Mike

I remember growing up watching Wonderful World of Disney, and WDW was one of the reasons I chose to move to the Orlando area. I personally believe in traditional “family values” but realize there’s other groups out there that also need to be included. The problem is Disney has abandoned their bread and butter to cater to the fringe groups. If all your content is geared toward 10-15% of the population, don’t be shocked when the rest of us decide not to participate with what you’re selling.

    1. Dk

One big thing they need to do is get rid of “pride” EVERYTHING! Just because some gay executives at the company want to push their agenda doesn’t mean they should. People plunk down $400 dollars for fantasy, NOT to be lectured.

      1. Mimi

Don’t like pride? Don’t go, we don’t care.

  26. Martin Rademakers

What can I say, my family went to Disney world every 2 years for 30 years and the last trip was like being in an unfriendly neighborhood. Nobody was friendly, costs have skyrocketed and it was apparent NOBODY was enjoying the trip. We skip our last two days….and went to Universal Studios and we found the fun and excitement lacking at Disney, there for everyone. The kids enjoyed it, and adults did too. Goodby Disney, we never coming back again.

    1. Mimi

      Bye!

  27. Bert Whidden

The steps needed. Bring back Magical Express. Stop the park reservation nonsense. Completely get rid of Genie+.

  28. Sue

Yes Disney has really lost its magic with the woke go broke crowd!! Turning Red for example….unbelievable!! Very inappropriate for children and that’s just one movie failure!! They are losing us conservatives and we are the main audience!!!

    1. Mimi

Conservatives, the biggest hypocrites in history.

      1. Cindy

That was a dumb comment. Do you say all Gays are pedo’s! You should never categorize any class or race. Most Conservatives are Christians and we are all Sinners. People aren’t perfect and can fail via temptation. Churches have been infiltrated by Fake Christians who shed a negative light on true Christians, who strive to live life according to the 10 Commandments. I know hundreds of Evil Democrat Lawyers, Doctors, Business Owners, Investors, etc. and Fake Conservatives who intentionally destroy lives in order to enrich themselves and maintain power!!!

      2. bubba smith

You and Disney need to find Jesus. America is Jesus bless us all
        MAGA 2024 and always

  29. Mike. C

That’s right, you heard the people. White only characters with male leads only. from here on out. Anything else will have the people raging crying it’s woke. Minorities only allowed as servants or the villains. Never the main.

  30. Edward Davis

I And my Family had Annual Passes since my son was 3 in 1997 and I had an Annual Pass since the mid 80’s. After COVID and having stopped using our passes for almost 3yrs I was going to renew the four passes but the pass that cost me $400: each was now almost $1200 and Way too much for me to be able to get four at almost $5000. So, we decided to go back to see it in 2023 and we went to Epcot. The First thing that we disliked was the making a Reservation. Then when we got into Epcot it was a mess. Construction everywhere and it was hard to get around being disabled. I rented a scooter and I made it to the American pavilion and it stopped working. I had to wait almost an HOUR for help after finding a cast member and explaining the problem. She was nice but I never saw her again. Finally a security guy came over and asked if he could help. I again explained the problem and he made a call. 30 more minutes later someone finally brought me a replacement scooter. After sitting in the sun 🌞 for almost 2 Hours we tried to have lunch at the Mexican pavilion and we ordered and waited for a long time for our food. It finally came out and it was COLD. Needless to say it was a Very Disappointing day and after the food debacle I and my family couldn’t deal with it anymore and we Left having done Zero rides or attractions except spaceship earth. If this is the New Disney I’ll be going to universal or other Parks. We haven’t been back since then

    1. Mimi

      Maybe it was karma.

  31. Walt

Used to go 2-3 times a year (perk of being a cast member) of course they took many of those perks away! I have not set foot in a Disney park since 2017 nor will I. It used to be enjoyable – now its a competition – and you have to make a reservation – what a joke. No thanks. Plus prices are ridiculous, wokeism is ridiculous, standards for cast are way down.

  32. Fletcher

Disney has always been very gay friendly. They had Red Days or Red Weeks forty years ago. But they forgot that these folks only represented a very tiny portion of their consumer base and started treating them as an overwhelming majority. They did the same dumb moves that Bud Light did, making the tiny minority the focus and ignoring the vast majority.

  33. Carol

You still have to pay for this latest proposed change back to the fastpass system so it’s really just a change in name. They are still grabbing the dollars!!!!

  34. John

Don’t care if they close it down last time I went to Disney it was a bad experience stayed inside the park spent the extra money so we didn’t half to stand in line to ride well some rides where longed in the express lane than the standard line.i expressed my opinion with the manager where I was staying the lion king resort and was offered 4 nights free and I refused it as far as am concerned am done with disney will spend my hard earned money at Universal they got there sh..together

  35. Stan

It would be good for Disney if they have really decided to return to their roots and provide entertainment for families and not pushing social agendas. Time will tell. One movie doesn’t confirm they have really changed anything. It will take many more before I can really believe they have changed, but it is one step in the right direction. I just hope their next 3 steps aren’t backwards.

  36. A. Dudeck

I’m sorry, folks. It’s not the “woke” 50% of the country people, it’s not the LGBTQ+ people, it’s not the changes to skip lines affecting Disney. It’s capitalism at it’s finest. The exorbitant costs; hotels, entry fees, souvenirs, and food costs. The employees must follow strict protocols with fear of dismissal for minor infractions PLUS they are not well paid. Disney is still making record profits from the theme parks.

  37. Cindy

I’ve avoided Disney for over 15 years because of Gay Week, all the sexual nonsense and satanic-like things throughout their Parks. I have been a Florida resident for 30 years. Most Locals want nothing to do with anything Disney. We now focus on Caribbean Cruises (not Disney’s) and other kid attractions throughout Florida. My family (nor most families) isn’t going to allow Perv’s to brainwash our kids. There should be no Gay week or anything sexual displayed or occurring in any kid’s parks or facilities in America. America believes in and has always been based upon God!

  38. Allymarie

Hopefully Disney goes back to focus on the true family vacation. Whatever your family looks like. Its become too removed from why it was created.

  39. WDW Member

There’s no magic. There never has been. It’s an amusement park. That is all it’s ever been. People try to make it something it’s not.

And Splash Mountain needed to be returned. None of the kids in the parks has ever seen Song of the South.

  40. Don

Most are not in to guys are pride month no parent wants their child to be queer why sponsors has left

  41. Phantim Manor

You give two examples of “change”: a movie that has been in development since way before the woke kerfuffle, and a measly tweak of the fast pass system. That’s hardly an indication of core change of heart. There’s gonna be a lot of pain ahead and with the current board I’d say financial collapse is more likely than turnaround.

  42. Bret

Society does not need high paid actors and companies to bow down or cater to a select few for political purposes. Disney’s poor decisions are all self inflicted wounds that will continue to bleed for many years. Live and

Don’t attempt to profit by dividing racial, cultural and ethnic groups thinking you will divide and conquer and make money doing it. This IS WHAT A RACIST DOES. Live and Let Live. Go have a Bud Light, because I won’t.

  43. CAP

They don’t want our voice. It has killed my entry twice now while I was typing!!!!

  44. Too little to late.

  45. Our family has been fans of Mr. Disney since the days of the Wonderful World of Color. Then the first park in Florida opened and my uncle Ed Bowser went with his family and stayed at the Contemporary Resort.
We first went with my father-in-law when our children were in grade school, who are well on in their careers. one a doctor and one the head of a Military Medical region.
We finally were able to go even with meager means. We greatly enjoyed our time even with having to eat in the car to be able to afford paying going into the parks. Family doing something together was Mr. Disney’s”’
” “Daddy’s Day” with his girls.
It has changed dramatically for the worse and needs to return to the family atmosphere. The Woke agenda has destroyed Disney and the erasure of what offends others that is known to all as our American history.
Death of the Dream is the road the company has traveled and hopefully, it can be saved.
If I have offended you GREAT! Grow up, it is not all about you!

  46. I don’t quite buy that they are going back to traditional values. They are currently changing Peter Pan to be more inclusive and diverse.

  47. Zach

Something I don’t understand in people’s anti-woke stance is that somehow the inclusion of a “non-traditional” character or theme somehow represents a departure from traditional values. People cited the fact that Buzz Lightyear’s best friend was gay was a departure from family values and a reason why the movie wasn’t successful. The movie itself wasn’t *about* anything outside of a normal adventure story. Maybe there wasn’t a weird/problematic romance like in Beauty and the Beast or The Little Mermaid or The Lion King, but other than that it was pretty normal. And gay people exist and it shouldn’t be a problem that they exist in children’s movies. I think Lightyear’s biggest disadvantage was that it wasn’t Toy Story 5. But yeah, maybe Walt Disney would be rolling over in his grave, but when did he start rolling over? Aladdin? Lion King? Mulan? “Would a guy who was born in 1901 approve of two women kissing?” is not where we should set the bar.
