In one day @ Disneyworld, got stuck for 25 min inside Haunted Mansion,, had to be walked off Frozen after about 15 minute, then stuck inside Spaceship Earth another 15 Minutes,
Was an interesting day, nobody complained at any of these delays
At Disney world we were approaching the last and biggest drop on splash mountain when we jolted to a stop.. Alarms started sounding. Then the other ride carts started coming behind us and hit us pushing us closer to the drop. As each car would he we would jolt and move forward. By the time team members arrived our car was perched part on the track and part in the air over the drop. They evacuated the other cars first, then us. My friend in the back first then me. Our daughters were in the front they had to climb over the seats and over rocks to get out. I also had to climb over rocks and I am mobility challenged. Then we went down I think 5 flights of stairs everyone ended up having to wait for me because I took forever on the stairs. We were given a small bottle of water and a lightning lane pass. My day was ruined because after the stair i couldnt walk. Thankfully i had a scooter, but i was unable to ride anything else
My family and I got stuck on POTC at Disney World during our fourth trip in 2008, we got stuck towards the unloading dock at the end of the ride and I was panicking a little bit but the cast members who were operating the ride made sure that my family and I were okay and we got to have a in show exit which was really cool and we also got some fast passes for any of the rides at Magic Kingdom.
I find it incredibly suspicious that all of these rides for the past few times read about them are malfunctioning and there are the possibilities that guests could be hurt in a very in a serious way I think there’s some foul play at foot here if I was Disney management I would look into this very seriously it is very suspicious to me in all my years of going to the parks I’ve never had these kind of problems rides will stop temporarily to let passes off with wheelchairs or assistance but nothing like this I blame it on these reservations you need to go it’s very suspicious.
So needing a reservation to enter the park
causes the rides to break down? Sorry but that is a ridiculously stupid comment. It’s called wear and tear and ride maintenance.
Last year I got stuck on the Small World ride in the last room where all the characters are dressed in white. About 20 minutes, and yes, we did have to listen to that song on repeat until the boats started up again. My friend who was with me and only rides because I generally enjoy it (plus it’s a chance to rest in air conditioning) refused to ride ever again. I also experienced a breakdown of Rise of the Resistance just as we were at the front of the line outside the boarding area. In both cases we were given fast return passes for later (for any ride) and I didn’t consider my day ruined either time, just went along and did something else. We did come back to Rise later and used the other fast pass for Space Mountain.
This is pretty scary. I feel bad for anyone that gets stuck on a ride. It’s worse if it’s on a drop, an inversion, etc. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Instead of building new rides/lands/experiences/ etc, Disney should focus on repairing the rides that keep breaking down and the rides that are older than 10 years old. Even some the newer rides (like Tron) are starting to have problems with mold, etc. I just wish that there were more responsible when it comes to the maintenance of the rides. But, they rather build new rides or (it seems) wait until something almost horrible happens until they actually do something. I’m a big fan of WDW (since it’s not too far from where I live now) I’m going on May 18th to Hollywood Studios. I would like to go on Ride of the Resistance. It seems that specific ride keeps having trouble. Question…… Do you need to have/do a virtual que when trying to go on that ride? I kind think that these virtual que’s are ridiculous. I tried it once a couple of weeks ago. I got the virtual que for Guardians of the Galaxy at 1:00 p.m. I still had to wait for 130 minutes to go on the rid. So, I left the park with my parents. I’m not going to wait for more than 40 minutes for any ride. It’s ridiculous. They should go back to the Fast Pass system. That was so easy, fast, and (most importantly) FREE.
This is kinda scary. I’ve hears about rides breaking down or stopping for a few minutes. This is because maybe someone that has mobility problems needs to get off the ride. Which I totally understand and agree. But, this is ridiculous. I’ve read so many articles about this. I think (in my honest opinion) that instead of building new rides they should first focus on fixing all (or at least most) of the issues that some of these rides keep occurring. What are they waiting for? For someone to be hospitalised??? Seriously!!!!! Fix the problems first, then build new rides/attractions/experiences/etc. Question….. Do you need to do a virtual que to go on Ride of the Resistance in Hollywood Studios???? I tried a virtual que once for Guardians of the Galaxy in WDW. I got one at 1:00 p.m and had to actually wait over 100 minutes to go on the ride. So, I left the park with my parents. I honestly think that these virtual que’s are ridiculous. They should go back to the Fast Pass. You didn’t need to download anything on your phone, pay for anything, had to wait for a long time to get on the ride (as long as you came at the time on your fast pass,) etc. What do you all think about the virtual que’s??
I went to Disneyland on Halloween. Almost every ride broke down that I went on that day. I received no fast passes or compensation. All they said was come back when the ride is back up and running. Then the lines were over an hour long when I came back and wouldn’t let me ride as a single rider. I don’t know how Disneyland is still in business at this point. Customer service refused to give me my money back for the experience that cost $180 and I hardly got to ride any rides due to them all breaking down at various points. They did offer to give me a free ticket but I said only if it’s for Disney World because I don’t want to come back to Disneyland for the same experience. This is not the Disneyland that I remember from 20 years ago.
Ummmm this exact ride, last Sunday. We finished the ride. The screen glitched out, then we didn’t lower to the ground. Stuck in the air for about a minute in all three rows of all three sections. Then felt like a power reset/surge, and lowered to the ground slowly. About 9:45 pm Sunday May 5 2024.
Comments for Guests Fall From Dozens of Feet up When Disney Park Ride Malfunctions

Whores I say. How does “a few feet” translate into “dozens”? Dozens is a minimum of 24 feet.
