This is shocking, completely unexpected, and quite frankly shameful behavior. Right after I typed that in occurred to me that this is exactly the type of thing that Disney would to. I will not see the movie.

    1. Everybody should Boycott Disney.
I won’t watch It ever again. I Am also having your Disney plus channel taken off of my TV. I’m not paying for something like this. You blew it Elton John is the best in the whole world. What’s wrong with you people? Obviously they must be youngsters.

    2. Carolyn Reilly

Agree all about the $$ not history.

  2. Liam

Nah you diss the Rocket Man, you’re done in my eyes…

    1. Kath

Nope. Have no desire to see this movie. Another reason why Disney is circling the drain.

    2. Danny P.

      Amen!!!

  3. Glenn

They are treating Elton John as they did with Robin Williams for Aladdin. This is very disrespectful. I personally will continue enjoying the 1994 film and the Broadway version of The Lion King.

    1. Carla Lucas

How utterly disrespectful. Shame on Disney for being rude and snubbing the great Sir Elton John. After all this man has accomplished for them. I will not be seeing this movie!!!! In fact you just lose me as a customer all together.

    2. Bill

What a disgrace to exclude Elton without even a discussion with him. From a loyal Sir Elton fan, I am done with Disney movies.

  4. Kathy

Seriously Disney? How you going to write off ELTON like that? And changing Mufasa’s storyline? Strike 2 Disney. Going for three?

    1. C. Dalton

This is much like how they treated Johnny Depp & Robin Williams, writing them off. Elton helped them make millions if not billions of dollars. Both Johnny Depp as Captain Jack and Robin Williams, Aladdin and now Elton John, gave Disney wonderful gifts and a legacy of their showmanship that will endure for a lifetime. Shame on Disney!!

    2. Todd Hudson

Going for? They struck out with Johnny Depp for me then the star wars mess and the James Gunn fiasco. The mess with marvel changing main characters to feed agendas. Going against the wishes of Chadwick baseman because he wish doesn’t matter we are going to cast with the sister in the movie that way it will be a woman instead of recasting the role all together. Disney can’t figure out pissing off fans is what loses you money

  5. Gretchen C.

Wasn’t really planning on seeing it, as I am not a fan of the majority of the live actions, Lion King included. However, now that I know that you changed Mufasa’s whole story AND ditched Elton? Hard pass.

Just Disney being Disney. Not the first time they heave-ho’d the talent. Bad mistake. Elton could do damage back, of course, but I hope has more class than the Mouse mess.

    1. Jim

Having written the music for previous versions, another “Lion King” should have included more music by Elton. Just Disney…

      1. Melanie

Bottom line, Sir Elton is the greatest and Disney sucks for dissing him. I wasn’t happy with the live action Lion King, the left out some great parts. I will never watch this.

  8. Ronnie

Typical Disney as of the last decade or so. Total full wake approach to their talent LEADERSHIP that goes right to the top. It is not about wanting to change things up a bit, it is about RESPECT for the one that brought you to the dance. EJ made as much of an impact to LK as the story did. Dance with the one who brought you….. Sorry, I think I will pass as well.

  9. Debbie

Disney is done in my eyes. How dare Disney dis Elton John. He’s better than any of Disney. You dug your own grave excluding Elton John.

    1. Simba

DISNEY and Disneyland etc is dead his name is IGER.

  10. Nicole

Ridiculous that Sir Elton John was cut out. But he should be proud of the work he has done for Disney

  11. Frances

Shame on Disney being unfaithful , Elton John’s music and songs is what lives in the movie.
To me The lion King is dead… Not watching.

  13. Sam

I like LMM and his previous Disney work (Moana, Encanto, etc), but he doesn’t have to be involved in every Disney musical production. This is Elton’s baby and I honestly can’t understand why Disney would have it any other way. The man just won another Oscar for music not too long ago. Why ruin a great partnership?
This is simply a dumb move and EJ deserves so much better. And I’m not really a live action Lion King fan, so no, I won’t be watching at the theater or at home.
I AM a huge Elton fan, however, and probably would have bought the soundtrack if it had had new Elton music. So you lost me there too.

  14. Not happy with Disneys decision to not include SIR ELTON JOHN! He is a well known personality. I think that will have an Effect on Disneys new Mufasa Lion King. My Granddaughter loves the theme song ” Can you feel the Love tonight” She is part of the future generation of possible Disney Fans…show to Conclude Disney I would rethink not having Sir Elton John not sing…Big mistake otherwise! 😭😡

    1. Anne

I don’t like Elton John so not having his songs in the movie is fine with me. I’m really looking forward to seeing it despite the backlash, but I am disappointed that Disney changed up Mufasa’s childhood story. They did that just so it would be another ‘underdog that rises to the top against all odds’ kinda thing. Also lions don’t live in the snowy region of Africa.

  15. Arron

Seriously, it seems like Disney is doing everything in their to go bankrupt. It’s been misstep after mistake for the last decade or more. Cancelling people, recasting other roles in the name of wokeness, I have never liked Disney, and never will.

  16. Trish t

Elton John is 77 years old. Time to pass the torch to the younger generation, perhaps beyoncé should perform the theme song as well as voice of character, they could also try to enlist relevant artists such as lizzo or maybe even Taylor swift. That would help them out in the long run by attracting future fans of the brand.

  17. Not sure why Disney snubbed Elton John. That is marketing suicide! But, then again, like most companies that have gone woke, they don’t have an ounce of common sense. Haven’t you suffered enough Dusney due to your politics? Give it up!!!

  18. Doug

Dissing Elton is like spitting in Santa’s eye. Bad bad move

  19. Vickki

That is absolutely horrible to exclude Elton from the film. Won’t be watching it!

  20. Sal

Not seeing it. They changed the story from what I hear. And of most of all Elton John is not part of it. You hear Lion King you think of Elton first. Disney you are making a lot of wrong changes.

  21. Jay Marcus

Shame on Disney. Elton’s last album had among the best reviews.

Why doesn’t Disney pair of the two? Miranda has acknowledged that he appreciated the advice. Stephen Sondheim gave him as he was writing Hamilton. I’m sure he would love the experience of working with Elton on the movie score.

  22. Stefanie

I think it’s totally disrespectful that Disney did not have Elton John for the new update on the Lion King. No. I am not going to the theater to go see it. And I will not watch it on Disney+

    1. Renee

I’m no longer a fan of Disney! I’m a fan of Old Disney… New Disney has been making terrible decisions for a while now! (Poor Walt… RIP!) I’m sure he’s looking down at what Disney has become & shaking his head! RIP to the Old great Disney we all love…

  23. Clc

DisneyBland…What’s new”… Poor *WALT” is ROLLING OVER IN HIS GRAVE” 😭 !! Disney now -Wokeland gets more EVIL DAILY”!!!

  24. Tim Jones

Love Lion King and the Live action film and looking forward to seeing this new film but shame Elton John isn’t writing any songs this time

  25. Jacob Allen

I will want to see “Mufasa: The Lion King” with or without Elton John’s involvement.

  26. Bob

Absolutely appalling. Disney needs to get there head on straight. But doubtful.

  27. Kristina

Theu should have included Elton John. That is very sad and a very ungrateful, rude, callous snub. I am disillusioned with Disney. I am very disheartened they would do that. I have lost respect and admiration for them.

  28. Jordan

Who cares, honestly? This is goofy.

  29. I hope you pass these comments to Disney! They seem to make one bad decision after another! I will skip watching the movie. I am disenchanted with Disney in General. Former cast member has a sour taste for WDW. The MAGIC IS GONE

  30. Simba

DISNEY IS A BUNCH OF MFS ,I HOPE THE FILM BOMBS.

  31. JANET

Disney, where’s your loyalty? Will not see this film and poor choices made by Disney leads to my boycott of everything Disney.

  32. YES! Absolutely, Definitely, Totally, and Without question!!!!!!!!!! There is no one on the planet that can write/sing for the Lion King like Elton John. Shame on Disney! Shame! Shame!

  33. Anne

Elton John is woke so not having him in the movie will be a personal pleasure for me. This makes me want the soundtrack even more. It would be more disappointing if Lebo. M wasn’t a part of it. I will be watching the movie but only after its out on DVD (and there had BETTER be a DVD and a CD soundtrack)

  34. Vaughn

Whoever is making the decisions is going to run Disney into the ground! No Elton John really?

  35. Jennifer Johnson

As long as Sir Elton has nothing to do with this film, I will NOT be watching. Neither will my kids or grandkids. Disney, you are losing so many loyal subscribers you need to open your eyes and listen to your audience!

  36. Carole Johnson

Absolutely will not go to see this. What an utterly stupid thing to do.
