The Magic Kingdom needs some new rides. Tomorrowland has been awful for years. Keep Buzz, Tron and Space Mountain. Get rid of the rest. Put in something new and interesting. Tomorrowland is currently yesteryear.
The “new” magic kingdom is horrible. I spent 39 years going there 2x’s a year . And now for the past 4 years I have refused to go. Even with having a 6 year old now
Nit what Walt intended. A place for bith adults and children. Now Disney is just becoming a cheap imitation of what it once was. Just another pathetic kiddy park.
For a new generation of apparently pathetic people then? Because it seems to me that the ones who complain the most are the older people that “remember when it was this and that and changed from my time blah blah blah.”
My God, people just have to learn that time changes. If you all can’t see that, then how do you Even get thru life?
Exactly Robert. People are way too hung up on living in the past, when today’s generation of kids and young adults don’t connect as well with old school dark rides and such the way some older guests do, because of their own memories. Time is going to keep moving on, and accommodate the newer generation of people. Why can’t they embrace creating those new memories together?
As someone who has been there starting in 1972 as a kid, the vast changes has destroyed many of the childhood memories and inspiration. What was once geared towards a magical family adventure has morphed into a very expensive amusement park trip. The quality of merchandise has fallen substantially as well as the overall guest experience. The crowds are bigger these days and are less friendly than years past. Or maybe, it’s just a less friendly world with everyone trying to fit so much into less time. The cast members and all of the infrastructure personnel do an amazing job given the circumstances. It’s just a hard pill to swallow knowing the “feel” of what Walt built and the direction he pointed the ship is not where they are sailing to these days. The world is a different place, so maybe the issue is many of us expect too much of the old, reliable and understandable magic to still exist, or at least, come close to our expectations. Moana, the way of water, was a very pleasant surprise and was very well done. I just wish more of Walt’s pixie dust still existed.
How dare you try to get rid of the castle!!!! That is EVERY girls dream to go to see and be a part of Cinderellas castle!!!! I’ve been there for about 20+ years with my family as it’s grown tremendously (there’s about 12-15 and growing that come every year) and have seen the castle in SO MANY lights ways etc. This was Walt Disney’s dream, so for you to take that away literally takes away ALL “THE MAGIC” that he created!!!!!
First off, calm down already. Jeez, you act like someone on the internet making a comment is going to suddenly destroy Disney parks with merely their comment.
Second, the “it’s every little girls dream” thing… I’m sorry, you’re owing this way out of proportion, more than it need be. Perhaps you need to step away from the Internet and do some really searching inside yourself. Your sense of anger is showing thru your comment. It’s unhealthy. Nothing major like that is changing at Disney and it’s definitely NOT worth the complete rage you just typed out.
Hopefully the Magic Kingdom and Cinderellas castle will always be a part of Disney ! It just wouldn’t be the same even changing and making it a more magical place with new attractions & rides .
No not going to happen you taking something away that Disney Magic is I’ve been going there for many years I think this article is a lie I just saw another article saying they are pushing back the fireworks until after the sun goes down
A complete lie I just saw another story saying that they pushed back the firework show so the sound can go down. Do we really think that this is gonna happen has been there for a long time and it’s part of history.
The park has lost its magic. Just another pathetic kiddy park. With cheapened attractions geared towards the 7 through 10 crowd. Just a big wadte of money now.
Disney has list itself with a the subpar movies they are toting like tuana and the frig. Definitely does not need uts own land. Dusney has become a joke and has lost what made it magical. No longer a place for adults to enjoy with kids but all about little kuds. Noy what walt intended. I will not go back. I Am done with Disney.
Magic lives inside you, so for all those saying “the magic is dead” maybe take a look inward and say why. I’m guessing, you’ve spent too much time hating a changing world and less time trying to understand those who are different then you and the things they have to offer to the world.
We were horrified at the behaviour and lack of supervision of the queues heading back to the car parks after the fireworks. The queues were, as you would expect, long. What I was shocked about was the pushing and shoving, bad language, aggressive behaviour and actual fighting in the queue. There were NO staff and no security presence whatsoever although this was still within park grounds and with children in the midst of it. I am returning to Orlando next year but will definitely give Disney a miss.
Hopefully the Magic Kingdom and Cinderellas castle will always be a part of Disney ! It just wouldn’t be the same even changing and making it a more magical place with new attractions & rides .
We have been going to WDW over 47 years and we are Annual Pass holders. The many changes that are great and many are extremely disappointing, Tron Lightcycle.
The changes due to the offensive woke agenda is destroying WDW. Mr. Walt Disney is slowly being erased and it’s original concept, “A place where he and his daughters can enjoy daddy and daughter day together.”
The dream is dying…RIP.
The magic isn’t dead. Ask any 6 yr old who just went. Remember its.a new generation. And while it may not be for your generation anymore doesn’t mean that it isnt a magical place for kids.
A great example is Turtle talk w Crush. Watch the kids interact with him is always fun!
Nonsense. TRON didn’t bring the updating narrative. They’ve slowly evolved it with many changes over a decade or more. It has to keep relevant. Nobody knows ehat “song of the south” is so why not an update along with Ariel, Buzz, and pirates updated to align with the movies?
I do not mind the changes at WDW, but I am minding the price increases (which are common everywhere these days). I am not rich, and WDW is becoming a vacation destination for the elite.
This is part of the reason the magic is dead. Before I get started the greed train WDW was higher cost than other places but when you compared to what you received there was value returned for your investment. Now due to the lack of maintenance, the infusion of rude and undertrained staff. The lack of perks for people staying on property and the list goes on. Is the problem. What I see now days is an overpriced 6 Flags parks rather than what we came to love as Disney Parks experiences.
So basically what is being said here is not that the Magic Kingdom is no longer that, but that older enthusiastic guests that can’t Invision nor accept change are causing this ruckus.
Change needs to happen. Do you know what happens if Disney just leaves it all alone? It grows stale… Yes we might love the classics, but what’s it worth if the children and families of the modern day find the rides and attractions to be rather kiddish, or too boring. Unexciting and far from magical? Then you’re left with a park that will be underwhelming with little to no reason to keep coming back.
Disney over-enthusiasts… Please stop whining about change and realize there is so much more to see with new advances. Living in the past doesn’t make for more fun.
Just an observation but with all your posts you seem to have a lot of time on your hands…let me guess, a full time social media vlogger or something. I bet it has great medical coverage.
What a negative Nancy attitude! I’ve been going for years and just had one of my best trips to date last week. Complaining about the introduction of IP is just silly when you turn around and complain about a ride being replaced that WAS IP. Song of the South was a movie before the attraction existed. And my 60 something mother’s new fav ride is Cosmic Rewind.
Walt wanted it to be a living park that was never finished. Keeping things exactly the same wasn’t what he wanted…
Having just come back from Disney last week its hard not to make a companion to earlier visits starting in 1991 with my 3 children (3, 7, 12) and returning with one now 40 and my grandchildren 4 and 10.
It certainly felt like the magic had gone.
Everything changes of course, its a natural progression but I did think I wonder what Walt would say if he saw it now, is it what his vision was about? And while I would hate for small world to go, I can say I did like the new ones
You have always had to queue but when everyone was equal and all queued together it didn’t feel so bad. Now those that can afford to, can choose not to queue! Most family’s can’t. It was interesting to observe the lightening lanes. Full of adults who can afford it, very few family groups. Small children waiting hours to see Mickley Mouse and having to watch adults ushered through ahead of them. What would Walt think. For a brand that claims inclusively it didn’t feel like it.
We were the family who loved Disney but my son was so dissapointed he wouldn’t go back. Its not a cheap holiday from the UK, he could have had 4 European holidays for the same money admittedly with out the Mouse!

What makes it terrible? I understand the nostalgia is lost but isnt the idea to make new memories with each visit? Just curious why it sucks now.
Jade VR
Exactly Robert. The six-year-old would still enjoy it. My granddaughter lives it, changes and all. I would never deprive her of that, even if I hated it.
Cliff
In 1972, Tomorrowland was nice. Sadly, for the most part, now it is merely dated.

It really matters not. Disney is dead the magic is dead, removed for the new generation. It NOT 1938 anymore!!!! Hahahhaa snort!

The Magic Kingdom is the Center Piece of Walt Disney World and must be kept as close as possible as original as it can be !
Jade VR
In your mind it is, but I know a slew of others that would disagree with you. “Hahaha snort” yeah, ok.
You can hate things and keep your “dead” thoughts, but you know what they say and opinion is like…

Well Jade VR you can go and jump off a tower you have no idea what you made to comment on and you should clam up before you jump !!!

I just think that Walt would be so upset that “The Happiest Place On Earth” has become one of the most expensive places on Earth to visit.
