It would be so easy to stop it. Track withstand passes, credit card purchases or going online as disney and any item offered as brand new shut it down. Being a person who lives in the middle of the country and goes to disney once a year. I’ve stopped buying anything online for disney. At least now my kids are grown so disney trinkets are not that important. I just think Disney claims they are not this and that. I think disney is for disney. After all they are a business.
Resellers are the worst, it’s so bad with Lego sets, now this. I say the shaming is good as long as it’s legal. We do need to shame some people sometimes
the people buying up merchandise to resell online have no shame – so shaming them isn’t going to work on them. If Disney is limiting the buckets to 2 per customer, they should track them better so they are unable to buy more than 2.
I really don’t have a issue with resellers. As someone who doesn’t live near Disney I’ve bought from them before if the price is reasonable. If I want it that bad.. Disney wouldn’t have that problem if they just sold them online and non-limited edition.
That being said I don’t get the hype for most of the stuff viewed as collectibles, including popcorn buckets …if I buy something I’m going to use it not just add it to a display wall.
I’ve been saying this for a long time. Disney really needs to stop this practice. They go after people for creating things using their characters, but don’t go after the resellers. What a bunch of garbage. Suing an individual creating a crochet pattern or a phone case with a likeness of one of their characters, but not going after people who are making double sometimes triple what they paid for an item.
I have used a shopper once or twice, but you pay the actual price with extra for shipping and their time for going to the park to purchase it. Never been over charged for anything.
