Why can’t you have anything to say positive about our governor and the state of Florida? It is so obvious that you are anti-DeSantis but you’re not going to turn the people benefit from his policies against him.

    1. Kathy

That’s because there’s nothing positive to say about the weekly excepr thatGod he is term limited.

      1. Dave 62

Why don’t you move to another state like newyork

        1. Jackie

          I agree

      2. Shar

I agree! Another dictator. Controlling lighting for crying out loud? Some freedom!

        1. Jackie

Chill out. What’s your problem with honoring the red, white, and blue. That’s representative of our entire nation. The rainbow does not represent everyone.

    2. Sherry

Because he’s just wrong, who does he think he is demanding nons3nse

      1. Dave 62

The leftist groups are the ones demanding nonsense

    3. Dave 62

He’s the best governor I have ever seen…I live in illinois and I know all about bad governor’s

      1. Gmac

Stay in Illinois. DumbSantis has alienated half of Florida with his dictatorial policies and he is a horrible person as well as a horrible governor as well as a horrible governor.

    4. Pikkurtooker

DeSantis is not a Governor. He is a DICTATOR! Because of his dictatorial fight with Disney, he has lost my vote FOREVER!

      1. Dave 62

Disney a company that pushes an agenda of the leftist veiw point ,instead of being a place where people can go enjoy them self’s without political veiw points. Disney shouldn’t have started it though a veiw point of recognizing certain groups of people that want to push their agenda through Disney.. because if disney doesn’t recognize them they’ll slander them in the news to get thier way. The cry babies of the usa. Red ,white and blue means alot think about it

        1. Aunt Polly

I’ve thought about it. It means virtue signaling. Nothing more.

  2. Candace Blocher

It sounds more like a dictatorship to me. I do not agree with all of the many ways of life that people live, but I thought as an American, we have freedom and that doesn’t sound like freedom to me, to be telling people what they can and cannot do and to be what they want to be. Ron DeSantis is ruining Florida by trying to make it only for the rich people and people of his standing. What’s wrong with making it good for everybody? I am someone who longs for bipartisan unity.
God Bless America and pray for the less privileged people.

    1. Chris

I agree 100%. A country isn’t unless it’s free for everyone equally. Anyone who supports this surely wouldn’t like it if the Governor banned the way of life for them.

  3. Sterling Hendersone

    Can he even enforce that???
Disney is a private Corp. this is over the top. #dontsayclimateorgay

  4. Sterling of course he can enforce and control. Did you not see Disney knuckle under with his board still in control. Floridians must get line just like the Russians. Welcome to the Commie State of Florida.

    1. Carol

Puting limits on what colors can be used during freedom month not very free.

  5. Paddie O'Furniture

    Liberal temper tantrums are funny.

    1. Helen Louth

Are you really saying it’s OK to ban books stop people from living the way they choose loss of freedom of speech what party believes in those choices?

      1. Maddaddyssa

You don’t want books banned from the schools? Then there should be no problem if Little Black Sambo or Tales of Uncle Remus are in the public school libraries. Hey, 1A and stuff…

        1. Aunt Polly

I agree. I’m a woke liberal who wants Sambo and Uncle Remus books in public school libraries, because I’m all for freedom of speech. I’d also be in favor of a special section devoted to books like these, perhaps with warning labels so that borrowers can be more informed about what they’re checking out, similar to the parental warnings about movie content.

        2. Bernadette Hackett

Right, no problem with Black Sambo books. That is freedom. And, it would also be great if we could return to teaching actual history in this state. It would be great for our children to be able to understand and learn about what the Civil war was about; and, what happened to slaves, and what Jim Crow laws actually were. Fantasy history should not be an actual course in any school. Also, parents should be able to freely raise their children as they see fit. We do not need Big Brother telling us how to raise our children and what we can and cannot do. We need freedom to take kids to doctors and discuss their care without government interference. We need a return to control over our own bodies and healthcare. Big Brother controlling all these things is not freedom.

    2. Lindsay

Who’s having a tantrum? Is our freedom not worth fighting for? Is it hurting you to see others celebrating pride month?? I promise they aren’t trying to recruit you. Open enrollment ended last month. It literally takes nothing to mind your own business.

    3. Chris

      Stupid names aren’t…

    4. Jackie

They sure are. Lots of wasted energy!

  6. Sherrie

He is the worst. “Freedom” month begins with a ban on what colors bridges can use. That is not freedom. He is a wannabe dictator.

    1. Sandy

      Agreed! With Sherrie!!

      1. Dave 62

What’s the problem with red, white and blue, maybe you need to move to another country if you don’t support

        1. Kungaloosh

Maybe you need to move to another country if you’re so bothered by the sight of people displaying whatever colors they want, because that’s America.

    2. Aunt Polly

Since this mandate is in effect between Memorial Day and Labor Day, you might as well put quotes around the word “month” too.

  7. Tom

This is what happens a party controls the legislature, the courts and is, in turn, controlled by a governor who punishes any dissent. Sounds like Putin. Every one is afraid of him.

    1. NA

There are worse immigrants over flow in out country hurting our children and biological men using females bathroom and taking over female sports bridges colors in one state don’t come close to the fact that we are in big trouble all over America.

      1. Dave 62

        You are correct

    2. NA

Kinda funny. California is run by democrat dictators and Florida by republican dictators. The problem with our country is the extreme stances. Neither are good or healthy, neither are godly. Just remember that when you disagree with someone, there’s someone disagreeing with you too.

    3. Sandy Weinstein

      YES!

  8. Maddaddyssa

Crazy how a gun control group have their collective panties up in a wad over this(poor choice of words when dealing with this demographic?). What’s it to the hoplophobes? Pervy Weinstein yrs ago gave away the game when he said he’s making it his mission to destroy the NRA. Why would someone in the trick bag he’s in say that? The rampant sex abuse and child molestation in Hellywood has been a poorly kept dirty little secret for over 100yrs. Remember this next time an overpaid mannequin or anyone in the entertainment industrial complex mouths off about the need for “sensible” gun control

  9. Aurora

He’s almost out and done. He has been a true dictator to Florida. His anti everything stand is a poison that has been delivered by the stroke of his pen. He has effectively made it so middle class Floridians cannot afford homeowners insurance. Our pocket has bailed out the defunct with the blessing of those in our state government. Maybe the governor should rethink and correct the damage he has caused to middle class Floridians and their pockets.
    Good bye and good riddance

    1. Sandy Weinstein

      yes. so true.

  10. Karen

Freedom began with our for fathers And that is what governor DeSantis is going back to the original red, white and blue colors of the United States of America!! Thank you, Governor DeSantis!

  11. Nick

For a governor who cries about how intrusive government is in our lives, his works appear to be hypocritical. Freedom with government mandated restrictions that has nothing to do with public safety or its wellbeing, is not freedom it’s a political statement, plain and simple.

  12. Sandy Weinstein

He needs to go away for good. He has ruined Florida. He is a disgrace. Disney has been a place for happiness and he has made things miserable for everyone involved. I pray he does not get reelected and gets out of government.

  13. Penny Harvestine

I agree with the upset. I lived in Florida for over 20 years. Glad I left. Here’s a thought just fly those flags yourself, let him know how you feel show him.

    1. Kungaloosh

If I lived in Florida, I’d be doing exactly that. Let’s see the state try to prevent tons of people from displaying what they want. As long as it’s not expressing something vulgar, have at it, I say. Colors are colors are colors. Happy “Freedom” Summer, friends!

  14. Tammy

By choosing to dictate what colors can be used to celebrate, he has taken away the freedoms of those who celebrate Juneteenth and Pride, etc. He has turned Florida into his own little fiefdom which allows only freedoms for those who agree with him. That is not the freedom that our forefathers fought and died for.

    1. Aunt Polly

      My sentiments exactly.

  15. Charlie

I stand with Florida’s great Governor and you should to, freedom came with a great price tag and that supercedes any groups personal agenda.

    1. Kungaloosh

And none of that has anything to do with what colors can be displayed for three months out of the year in one state. And by the way, show me where it says in the Constitution that the price tag of freedom supercedes activist agendas. I’ll wait.

  16. Frank

God bless our governor!! 150% agreed with him. Patriotic colors to display for America the beautiful.

    1. Aunt Polly

But not at the exclusion of other colors. That’s called government intrusion.

  17. Jerry

It’s a good thing gov.desantos. can’t run again, Freedom is Freedom I served for 31 1/2, yrs in USN and I served for everyone’s Freedom regardless of race, or sexual orientation, and Disney is not owned by the state of Florida, so no choices inside of the parks should be made by him. He is nothing more than a junior Hitler in Florida and would have tried to hurt the whole united stated if pres. He will never be voted for by me. This is not what I served for.

    1. Kungaloosh

Thank you for your service AND your sanity.
