Before anyone goes on a rant about the ride, the movie or Johnny Depp, remember this is about Peter Pan replacing the scene in Fantasmic, not the ride.
I’m curious to see if your comment has a positive effect on ensuing comments, but I don’t harbor that kind of faith in humanity regarding keyboard warriors on this page.
I find it sad thst pirates is ending. How anyone can feel oogled by a robot is insanity to me. Disney needs to stop catering to just the select few and ignoring the masses.
Kind of sick of one group of people being able to pressure a company to change everything. Not because it should be, but because they just want to whine about something. And BTW the fact you believe no one else has a right to an opinion, obviously you’re part of the problem
Yes very sad that this iconic ride is shutting down. It was actually my favorite. I guess if someone doesn’t like it, “don’t get on it” there are plenty of other rides for you. Or better yet, go to another park and don’t ruin our Disney.
The ride is supposed to be depicting scenes that portray ‘actual’ pirate life and culture, in realistic, but fun, journey through a specific time period, and a specific culture. “A Pirate’s Life for Me!”
I totally agree ppl now days r to dang sensitive. That’s ride been there for years n no1 cared but all of a sudden its not appropriate. People r a joke now days grow up and let it be.
This is ridiculous. Disney needs to not cater to the minority that wants to whine about everything. It’s disgusting that a few freaks can get their way.
and I don’t literally mean that Walt Disney open parts of the Caribbean but I’m talking about the one he shows in his videos and the excitement it comes out of Walt as he’s explaining that you’re going to go down a waterfall and ask the nice lady how do you think you’ll get back up and she says a waterfall
I didn’t understand why people are surprised about pirates… We can’t rewrite history and their behavior so why are we changing rides to hide it like it never happened. And why is someone feeling like an animatronic is looking at them.. It’s a machine. Don’t forget Peter Pan had it’s issues to that are just as accusatory. I think the ride should be left alone. You don’t like it, don’t ride it.
Disney is completely offensive – they just need to shutter the park. Or perhaps stop listening to severely non functional mentally ill people that are so prevalent in this world now
GET A FREEKING LIFE!
If you don’t like something at the Disney theme park don’t go to it……period! You can’t re-write history to your liking because it offends you. Have you not seen the news lately. We have basketball stars (with their “I’m offended”) going to other countries and getting “detained”. Then they want their “mommies and daddies” to come rescue them. Spoiled children never learn!
I definitely vote for pirates. I do love Peter Pan too but pirates just hold so much more nostalgia. Also, I do understand and get changes in the world and how we see things, but at the same time I don’t believe in changing, erasing or eliminating our history. We need to see, learn and understand it to truly continue to grow as a society.
Disney had been going downhill in every aspects for years now due to to it being run by social justice woke snowflakes…Walt is literally turning in his grave…Sad really , use to love everything Disney…
Agree with comment sentiments so far. When peeps get up in arms about theme park ENTERTAINMENT not being PC or culturally sensitive, while hardly anyone cares about trashy video/television or violence and gore in films, I feel they are obsessing in a hyperfocused way.
Enjoy classic rides, theater, film, literature, etc., with an adult perspective. If you have children with you, talk about how attitudes and culture have changed over time. Don’t force our world through a microscopic, modern filter, insisting on change in theme parks and ignoring the really concerning issues around us.
Don’t know who complain but they should go somewhere else. The ride is fine stop ruding for one that enjoy the ride. My opinion is Capt Hook is a fairy tale. They had the ride before n got close down. Now the princess character visits are there. The children will see kids flying what will make them feel they can. I say pirates of the Caribbean stay.
New facts comming in everyday, the WOKE is happy that they can make changes in this country. People getting organized and we will be shutting down all vacation spots from the WOKE . Lets see them have fun with no place to go, sorry i did meet
WALT DISNEY back in 1966 and learned the magic of his park. Now the WOKE DESTROYS IT, i will vist Disney parks when they become WOke free and my beloved Pirates return .
I preger Peter Pan in Fantasmic.
As for Pirates of the Caribbean being removed because its dated, those complaining shouldn’t go on it. The ride draws thousands and every day there’s lines. The Pirates represent a time in history. Im tired of a minority voice of complainers getting their way and changing things that arent need of change.
People should stop trying to rewrite history. If you look back there is so much to complain about, but what needs to be done is to learn from it and stop trying to impose your views on everybody else.
Howcan youfind Pirates offensive ? Weloose one of the coolest attractions because some snowflakes find it offensive. They can always walk past the entrance and go see something else.
I think people are just too sensitive and they don’t appreciate the classic and iconic Disneyland favorite! It’s not the ride itself that is wrong but the people who have changed their point of view on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
I think removing these iconic rides and experiences is just plain awful. We must embrace our past and respect our future. Both can be achieved if only we try. Destroying the passed only means ignorance and a repeat of it in the future.
I live out of state and every time we went to California we had to go on my father’s two favorite rides…pirates of the Caribbean and haunted mansion. They became all of our favorite rides as well Eventually my parents moved to California and would often take all their grandchildren. These rides became their favorites. Our typical Disney trip also included eating at the blue bayou. I’m big on women’s rites but the bride auction never bothered me. This was a sign of the times and as my dad explained times changed and this was something we would never do today. I’m going to Disney land next week with some of my grandchildren and can hardly wait for them to experience the magic of Disney. And the beat goes on. Leave pirates alone. It’s a wonderful experience.
Shame on Disney execs for making decisions based upon a loud, whiney minority. It’s not just Pirates, it’s also Songs of the South. Sorry, I personally met two different people who looked and spoke exactly like Uncle Remus. I was charmed by them
They were real people. Did the represent a tragic period of history? You bet! What credentials does anyone have to rewrite history with their personal or their group’s wishes?
“ogled”, really? Yes, sometimes it seems the eyes follow you, that’s part of the magic 😉 But, “rapey”, please don’t ruin the parks for the rest of us who enjoy them. Get a grip.
So they took out the Pirates of the Caribbean theme from Fantasmic? That’s just insane. Disney’s all about listening to a few people who get offended, even though they made millions on those Pirate movies. Now they’re removing it from the show because of some folks who ignore what pirates were or what Pirates of the Caribbean was all about. Walt Disney himself approved it, remember? History is reality. They blew it with Johnny Depp, and now they’re doing it again, thinking Peter Pan and his crew look better on that famous ship. Corporate Disney has lost its mind. What’s knew, everything they do now is insane.
I personally think that is unjust and unfair. Disney and their rides have inspired a lot of good things and made generally speaking nice friendly pictures of history as it was not by re-creating and fantasizing. All races have been slaves at one point, for example, including blacks, owning other blacks, all lives matter, I don’t understand you folks anymore. You’ve gotten so liberal that you want to re-create reality and omit anything that actually happened including the creation of the Bible no wonder most of the mainland of United States is so intolerable and ignorant.
He can’t change the pirate ride, without Casandra Lee Mandevilles permission. Since 1997, she has and will always be the CEO of Disneyland. Walt Disney left her the park in his will.
He knows better. No, he can’t take out the ride or change it. It is in Walt’s will, she is suing him and the whole park.
People make me sick, Walt Has Pirates as the actual historical way, he was a history buff, if people can’t handle something, then leave the park. Once Casandra gets her park back–she will be bringing back the original pirates and will not tolerate people complaining.
People who make complaining against things is sad. Besides the ones who complain, are actually his family members, because anyone on the past they always showed their pictures or had them talk on national TV.
So, his family members are the ones complaining. That’s very sad, very sad.
Bob Iger, hope you’re ready for a huge lawsuit against you, by the true CEO of Disneyland. I am team Casandra Lee Mandeville and yes you know who she is, the woman you keep flirting with–you love redheads and you always wanted to date her. Team Casandra Lee Mandeville!!
This pisses me off like no other. My family has history with Disneyland. My grandfather helped build that damn place. My grandmother worked there on main street once you entered the park. One of the main gift and candy stores. My dad (R.I.P) helped build Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I even worked there. My son’s have never been there and I’ll never take them. They’ll have wait till they’re older. As long as Disney stays WOKE. I will never go there again. I raised in Anaheim. I served my country and this WOKE crap is cancer in our country. I’m even ashamed and embarrased to say I am from California. Go WOKE, Go BROKE.
I am so tired of hearing trigger words like WOKE! WTH does that even mean? This is not a political issue and has nothing to do with it! We need to remember our history AS IT HAPPENED or we are destined to repeat it!! For those that are making this political in some way, you’re wrong, but I respect your opinion. If it offensive to you, you do not have to patronize the parks, but I promise you the parks will remain full and life will go on for everybody. We have become a very intolerant nation and until we can learn to compromise and get along we are destined to fail.
Pirates is way better than Peter Pan, leave it as Walt designed it. Pirates, Haunted Mansion, It’s A Small World are some of my favorite rides and bring back very fond memories. So tired of a bunch of whiny pansies trying to change everything. Don’t try and fix something that’s not broke.
You are ruining Disneyland. If someone doesn’t like the ride, then don’t ride it. Don’t ruin it for everyone who does enjoy the ride. Why do you think the lines are so long to get on? Because it is a popular ride. Many people don’t even like Peter Pan. We have to stop catering to just the small groups and go with the majority.

After the Caribbean is a great ride and it is for my childhood. And I don’t think you guys should close it at all. It’s pronounced logic
Jean Stein
Very true shouldn’t be closed
Twrry
I like the Pirates of the Carribean just the way it is!

People need to get thicker skin and not be offended to nausea. I bet the kids don’t know the difference. And Don’t care. It’s Disney Land.

Good news for ya! THE RIDE IS STAYING THE SAME!!

so does this mean that we’re going to have the same pirates of the Caribbean that opened when Walt Disney opened the park?

and I don’t literally mean that Walt Disney open parts of the Caribbean but I’m talking about the one he shows in his videos and the excitement it comes out of Walt as he’s explaining that you’re going to go down a waterfall and ask the nice lady how do you think you’ll get back up and she says a waterfall

Yes, the whole ride track and experience is still the same. Just the fact a badass female pirate robot (Redd) is there
Teresa
It is amazing how many people domt resd!!! 🤦🏻♀️

I’m glad they’re hopefully not talking about the actual Pirates ride.
By far my favorite ride and favorite of many people I know.

Or you could just not care and don’t support them yourself. But others do enjoy Disney so, get over it and yourself.

Walt can’t turn in his grave, he was cremated. Besides, he would’ve started turning around the 80’s lol
Darood
You’re likely the type that would cut in line and be super annoying because of wait times or something. You’re not wanted at Disneyland anyway.
Steamboat Willie
Me knowing I could’ve been accused of something worse than doing something I’ve never done at a park I’ve never been too: 🙂
Avery
yeah, definitely being run by woke social justice snowflakes >:( ☝️🤡❄️
