A mother was on fire with anger at Walt Disney World Resort this month after a Disney cast member refused to offer her the discount she demanded.

Walt Disney World Resort can be expensive, between a Disney Resort hotel room, a Disney Dining Plan, Memory Maker, water park add-ons, and single-theme park or Park Hopper tickets to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It only becomes more expensive when the kids and kids at heart have their eyes on everything in the gift shops!

While most guests budget and think carefully about their souvenirs, some feel that Walt Disney World Resort should solve their problems instead. Former Disney cast member Kelsey Conkling (@disneywithkels on TikTok) recently reenacted an encounter with a woman who demanded a merchandise discount for Mother’s Day:

When Conkling asked the Disney Park guest if she had an Annual Pass, Disney Visa credit card, or Disney Vacation Club discount, she said no. Still, the woman demanded a percent off.

“It’s Mother’s Day, and I’m a mother,” she said.

“Oh, well, happy Mother’s Day to you!” Conkling replied. “…So your total is $129.34.”

“I should get a discount being a mother because it’s Mother’s Day,” the theme park guest argued.

The Disney cast member explained that Walt Disney World Resort doesn’t offer merchandise discounts for Mother’s Day.

“Well, I’m not paying that,” the guest replied.

Conkling asked if she wanted to remove some items from her purchase to lower the total.

“No, that’s ridiculous,” the guest said. “Do you know how much work I do?”

“That’s great for you, but it doesn’t get you anywhere here,” the Disney cast member responded.

“I am not paying for that,” the guest insisted.

“Okay, well, then you can’t have it,” Conkling said.

“I cannot believe society nowadays,” the woman snapped. “They do not understand the importance of moms… You know what? Just keep it. It’s fine.”

Unsatisfied without a discount, the Walt Disney World Resort guest walked away and didn’t complete their purchase.
