Walter Elias Disney may not have been perfect in some ways but he was better than alot of other people ! And without him at the helm of the Disney Company in the beginning you would not have Disneyland or Walt Disney World. So everybody who are Walter Elias Disney FANS lets all push to protect his LEGACY !!
As a Billy Joel fan, I especially enjoyed the final quote. I’d like to share another personal favorite of mine:
“Now, with the wisdom of years, I try to reason things out and the only people I fear are those who never have doubt. Save us all from arrogant men and all the causes they’re for. I won’t be righteous again. I’m not that sure anymore.”
The play shouldn’t be stopped simply because you disagree with it. It would be slander if it was a news report claiming it as fact. Art, on the other hand, is meant to stir a reaction in some cases and any attempt to stifle it would be a violation of its First Amendment rights. However, you do have a right to protest its existence, so that your own voice is heard.
It can also be considered artistic licencing, they make changes of what is fact in lays and movies.
The only ones who truly know the truth about Mr. Disney is his family and descendants.
I mean, there’s no evidence to prove or disprove that Walt was of that nature… Disney has been accused of anti-Semitism for having given propagandist Leni Riefenstahl a tour of his studio a month after Kristallnacht. And was arrogant to the big world wide conflict.
Then again, Disney had any previous sympathies towards Nazi Germany, the U.S. Government would have likely disqualified him from making propaganda…

The anti semitic thing is easy to disprove. The fact is he wasn’t and its an awful slander. This play should be stopped.

Slander and giving false information as fact has nothing to do with the First Amendment. Especially when the person isn’t able to defend themselves.
My great grandfather was the Disney Brothers tailor…he made many of their suits. From what I’m told, he never had a bad thing to say about either man.
