I’m hoping we get to see Robin in this, idk if it’ll be dick Grayson or Tim Drake, but I’m hoping the Robin suit is the iconic 90’s Tim Drake suit

    1. Yes! I’m Batman Returns another fan too!

Robin Williams, R.I.P., would have been EXCELLENT as the Ridler in Tim Burtons Batman 3 with Michael Keaton as Batman if it’d happened.

Let’s be honest, MK is a great actor, but without Jack Nicholson that film would have been dead in the water, I don’t care what that man acts in it’s an Emmy every time. Nice read btw.

      You mean Oscar? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Keaton was great in the Flash. I will watch another movie with him in it. He was the best Batman in my opinion. I hope they don’t ruin his legacy with a bad movie.

Keaton’s Batman was very respectable, especially when held up against Adam West’s, but by the 4th movie the angle of the shoots had taken on the same sideways LSD enhancing tactic as West’s. All that aside, Bale’s Batman was the by far better franchise.

WRONG….with or without Jack Keaton owned that role. But Jack will ALWAYS be one of the greatest portrayals of the Joker

Micheal Keaton does well on his own. Now, don’t get me wrong, I think Nicholeson as the Joker was a well played card as both actors did phenomenal in their protagonist/antagonist roles, but realistically, Michael Keaton would have done well with any villian in the batman role. Hence batman returns with Danny Diveto depicting the Penguin. But like any good movie, the real villian in BMR is Christopher Walkins. He is a monument bad guy. But if you give these legacy actors screen time, they’ll make a good movie hands down. I’d like to see Michael Keaton go head to head with Michael Douglas as a villian. Not sure who’d he’d be, but I bet it’d be epic.

That would be the ultimate omg if he came back as batman . Like that’s one way to bring back the life here on Earth.

  4. Ryan

Everyone I know that is a batman fan would completely be enthused about this. But I’d have to go with what Mr Keaton said in a previous interview. Only if Tim Burton comes back to direct.

Wait a minute…there already was a Canon sequel to the 1989 “Batman” movie…”Batman Returns” in 1991. Why are they making another sequel to this movie? That doesn’t make sense.

Val Kilmer took over with new script that was “BAT FOREVER”! planned #3 never got made.

      1. Koren

Yes, but he’s saying they are talking about a sequel to Batman ’89, not a sequel to Batman Returns. So this sounds like it’s Batman 2.5. Which is odd, because the ages of these actors are so incredibly different now.

      1992

We need another Keaton Batman. He was the reason I watched the Flash movie. If it’s written well and has better special affects than most DC movies people will watch it.

I’d like to see Keaton back in a Dark Knight Returns or a Batman Beyond movie. As this story sounds, I’m cautious. It doesn’t sound bad, but it also sounds like a lot of nostalgia built on reinvigorated hype. WB doesn’t have a great track record so I’ll wait to see a trailer or two and see if it looks like a decent movie or a cash grab.

      “Trailer or two”

      This is a novel, not a movie…

  8. Travis

Did everyone skip the part of the story that said that the sequel is a novel called Batman Resurrection that’s set during the aftermath of Joker’s death in the first movie? It’s not a movie that’s being made.

    1. Jack Napier

They sure did. I had to re-read it was so divorced from the comments.

  9. J.J.

Don’t forget about Jack and Kim!!

  10. Lola

Cannot wait for this! Mi hael Keaton is by far the best Batman and always will be! So excited he’s returning!

    1. John Snakes

      IT’S A NOVEL, NOT A MOVIE!

      Good grief…

Burton, Keaton and Miller need to get together and do “The Dark Knight Returns”. Keaton is the right age to play the mature Batman. Bring in Sean Pertwee as Alfred. Some cute young actress as the reborn Robin. This would bring the studio untold wealth as the book is so well known and the basically already have the “Batmobile”.
