Years ago, my daughter was in line and we saw a MAW family escorted up. Of course she asked why they get to “cut” the line. I explained that the child was very sick and so they were going ahead of us so they could ride before the child got too tired to play. (ok, not totally accurate, but age appropriate at the time). We later saw the saw family walking along and my daughter was so exited “look mom, she must be feeling better because she’s still here”. And before I know it, she ran up and hugged the girl! They became fast friends for that day (after I explained to the mom what was going on, lol). Of course, we didn’t go ahead of the line with them so we were separated but somehow after our wait in line we found them several different times. We exchanged addresses to be pen pals, and did write a few times but sadly she passed away. Now, whenever we go to Disney and see a MAW family, my daughter claps and cheers for them. Yes, we get puzzled looks, but the kid almost always smiles at the adoration and attention. I can only imagine how hurt they must have been by this woman’s outburst. I hope that later when she wasn’t as frustrated and tired, that she realized what she’d done. I can’t imagine anyone could be that vile. Next time you see a MAW family, clap and cheer them on….a few times we’ve had other families join in. Give them a great send off to the ride!
