You see this is the problem, that family has a problem with that stuff, and it does matter, the people who say it doesn’t matter, I get it that you don’t get it, but not everybody has to be wallowing around down in the mud with you

  2. Why?

If I want to see dudes in dresses I’ll go to a drag show. Calling this man a she doesn’t make it so…

Safe to say we won’t ever book that dining experience again.

Using your religion to hate and bash others is a: not Christian, or moral in any case, and b: see a! If your religion causes you to fear and hate others you need a different religion.

Tell the family to get a life. She looked like she. The end. Beyond that if you do jot like who plays the characters go elsewhere and hide your head in the sand somewhere. If I pay to see a character and it looks like and acts like the character, done.

jeff be hanging out at the drag shows. Don’t be like jeff.

Oh well. There is nothing wrong with what Disney is doing. The biggest mistake I see is all these so called Christians that are forcing their beliefs down everyone’s throat.

Okay, has it occurred to anyone here that sees this as a negative that maybe Disney couldn’t find a female performer with the same height, voice, and face structure requirements of the Evil Queen and HAD to settle for a guy?

Wow you must work in HR because your BS level is 100.

I worked at Disneyland one Christmas season back in the 70s. It was quite common for men to play the evil characters at Disneyland. Nobody said a word… We couldn’t care less! It worked… The men were more evil appearing than the women were!

This family is very insecure.. What other people do doesn’t make them any less Christian. If they don’t like men dressing up as women, then the men in their family certainly don’t have to. Are they concerned they haven’t been able to imbue their beliefs to their children and they’re afraid their boys will put on dresses? Accepting different types of people is the Disney way. If they complained that the queen wasn’t white they’d be run out of town.

“Having someone play a role whose gender identity did not match the character was against his “family values”. MF please. Your kid just played a damn tree in the school play. I don’t wanna hear about it moron.

Do I believe that if a character is female it should be played by a female character and if the character is male it should be played by a male character, yes. I just don’t like jobs being taken by males made for females and vice versa.

  9. Well, I think the family and other families were broadsided. Put yourself in their shoes. Perhaps they don’t take their kids to drag queen story hour at the library because it is against their values. They spend thousands on a disney vacation and spend another $300 on the Snow White dinner. A drag queen is pushed on them and then they are shamed Disney castmembers for complaining. They have every right to complain. Disney should listen to people that keep their parks open. People who like drag queens might be more inclined to go to Universal–it would fly there. My kids are adults and they would laugh at him.

  10. I commented something similar previously on a different article regarding this, how does this family know for sure that this is a man?! And how did they make the leap that this person is transgender?! Although I would never personally take my child to a show where men dress up in drag and perform a certain way, this cast member dressed as the evil queen wasn’t behaving inappropriately. The idea that this cast member is a man or transgender doesn’t make sense as there is no exact way to determine that. In Shakespearean times, men performed in women’s roles merely because that’s what they did not because they were a certain type of way. Also, I hate how people throw their faith beliefs into the ring with situations like this. I’m a devout Christian and love others as Christ would want me to, these parents seem to be full of hate. Also, if they are as devout as they say they are, they wouldn’t go to Disney in the first place considering that this company embraces certain ideologies. People need to chill out and stop being so hateful.

Have we possibly run out of real females in today’s society??

If I were in Key West I could understand, but DISNEY????

Yall are ok with Mickey and Donald being played primarily by women and taller characters, like Queen of Hearts, being played primarily by men. Been happening for years and hasn’t impacted you in any way whatsoever.

Motor mirror on the wall, who has the biggest dong of them all. Not the man who threw a fit about someone dressed in costume.

Call me cynical, but whenever I hear the “I spent a lot of money to come here,” argument, I suspect the person is looking for a free dinner (or whatever). Newsflash–EVERYBODY spent a lot of money to go there! Of course, there are times when the circumstances are so bad, the customer should be this upset, but this was not one of them. The complainer even admits he wasn’t sure the character was a man. I also can’t help but wonder, with all the coverage of the Disney/DeSantis feud over “wokeness,”, that this conservative Christian family values dad was so shocked and offended by any Disney “wokeness” lol. Finally, I can’t help but imagine the hurt this has caused the actor, who is just doing a job, enjoying it, and doing it well?

Are they going to complain when they find out that Mickey Mouse is regularly played by a woman?
    I bet they wouldn’t.

  16. Funny how a “conservative Christian” is more concerned about what they imagine is the gender of a performer than they are about the part where the performer is playing an EVIL WITCH.

Wait until this loser finds out the Bart Simpson is voiced by a woman! Oh the humanity! Won’t someone think of the children?!

From Disney’s Diversity & Inclusion site: The Walt Disney Company is committed to developing and retaining a diverse workforce, fostering a company culture that is welcoming and respectful, creating content and experiences that resonate with our global audiences, and collaborating with community organizations to make our industries more accessible to all.
I respect and applaud Disney for being an equal opportunity employer. The person exposing children to a “drag queen” are the parents themselves by telling them. Other than that, the kids would not know the difference- to many of them this truly IS the Evil Queen (and a job well done! I’m jealous!)

Actors and actresses portray a variety of characters while “on stage”. If make up and attire can change a he to a she and vice-versa for a stage production, who cares?
Think Mickey is a dude every time? Think Minnie is a chick every time?
Let the kids see the costumed actor/actress as they see it, a Disney character. As an adult, we can keep our mouth shut, while still being disgusted….for the kids sake!!

Dear Disney Stop trying to normalize behavior so closely associated with horrific outcomes.

  21. Presbyterians like myself are conservative christians as well.

I think they wanted their meal comped !!
