I think that if DeSantis gets away with how he has acted and the legislature then freedom of speech is no longer protected.

DeSantis is wrong and should be punished.

Glad you agree, Burt. DeSantis is indeed wrong. Now, what should the punishment be? I vote for paper cuts and lemon juice.

Well…the farmer’s wife cut off their tales with a carving knife.

Desantis…a none vaxer or mask wearer…has been burning books… right and left. How is that a parent’s choice? Lol.

I have no campaign funds. But I can create an elephant or donkey in a room.

    2. Burt

      No books have been burned.

It’s time to rip apart Lady Liberty. Send the motto back to France. The.USA doesn’t/can’t take care of it’s own tax paying citizens.

I don’t think Disney should self govern, they should be subject to the same laws in Florida as every other business (Universal, Sea World, golf courses, pizza joints, etc…). It’s too bad Disney went off the rails in the last 5 years, makes you wonder what they were thinking.

Sounds like you need to do more research. DeSantis offered Universal the same kind of “special district” status that Disney used to have, and which several other areas in Florida continue to have – most famously The Villages. This was Disney being directly targeted by state government over politics.

The Reedy Creak agreement needed to change. Anyone familiar with this (for or against what happened) will tell you this. The original agreement was skewed and needed to be brought inline with current state law.

That said. The new agreement was northing more than a power grab of a petty little dictator that got his butt hurt when someone dared to disagree with him.

Don’t get me wrong here. Disney is not totally in the right here. The “King Charles” clause in those agreements was nothing more than an insult ment to say “if you want to play here then go back to law school.”

Right now it looks like the crying kids in the playground want to take their ball home but they can’t figure out who the ball belongs to so are just throwing tantrums.
