Sounds like another desperate money grabber trying to fleece the House of Mouse for that Disney money! Shes lying. And someone should present video to prove she has not been permanently injured.
California is a comparative fault state in negligence torts. Thus, the jury will first determine if there is a valid negligence claim and the award amount. Then the jury will have to decide to what extent each side was responsible, in the form of percetaage of fault, for the incident that caused the injury. If there is an award the plaintiff will only recieve the percentage amount of any award.
Of course that is only if it goes to trial. It will liklely settle out of court.
Why is this incompetent lady telling her kids shoe in the middle of the walkway for the characters walk she did that on purpose she wanted free money she should get a job I hope she loses a lawsuit
Yup another fake slip in the grocery store. If she was bent over tying hers shoes and shes not 7 feet tall haow in the world is trama caused falling a foot and half if that. Pretty sure he lightly bumbed her as a funny goofy thing and she soccer flopped and Waleed on the ground like Peter Griffin.
So lets compare this to another type of incident. If she bent over in the middle of the street out of the sight of a truck driver and the hit her is the truck driver at fault. This is the problem today people do not take responsibility for their own safety and actions. On top of that she actually caused the tripping of the performer by her actions. Disney should sye her for defamation.
Unreal she’s just another sue happy person n wants a free ride in life.hopefully the settlement she gets to child college acct the child she was timing shoe for.
It’s amazing or better is disgusting to watch what people can do for money ! I think that Disney should sue the guest for making Goofy tripe’s over ! She was the one who stopped for tying the shoes!
This is ridiculous! Here it was, we flew to a theme park through United and experienced HORRIBLE customer service from them for a family member who needed to use a wheelchair. They wouldn’t grab them one, didn’t show up at the gate with one etc. and we were told to sue them since we had videos of the occurences. We have chosen to reach out to United directly right now in an effort to improve this for other passengers, not to gain anything else. This woman is suing a cast member for simply bumping into her…like who is that even helping?? What good froms it besides her own greed….higher park prices?
I’m a pass holder n visit the parks frequently. With the crowds you often can’t help but bump into people. Instead of moving over out of the way to do something like tying a shoe, people just suddenly stop dead in front of you to do it. If your not looking n watching them closely you can’t help but bump or stumble into them. It is that person’s fault for not moving over to the side before stopping.
If I was going to tie a shoe laces, I would move to the side where no one could run into me. Or if possible wear sandals or the shoes that you don’t have to tie. That is what is good for a place w like that.
With all the people around, she should have known better than to stop in the middle of a crowded walking area. I’m pretty sure she knew what she was doing and planned to make sure she got in the way of a performer. The helper is having to look multiple directions at once to keep the performer on track to get either to or from their guest area. Those costumes are hot and it doesn’t take much depending on the weather to need a break. They don’t have drinks in the costumes. Also, 90% of the performers in costumes like that are female who tend to fit the costumes better. Like someone else said, how far could she really have fallen? I played soccer for 25 years. I was kicked and knocked down and hit in the face with the ball and I don’t have a “permanent disability” with falls and stuff hard than getting knocked over from being bent over. I hate these money hungry liars. My friend had to go through a lawsuit for a lady who claimed she had permanent hearing damage from the machine guns that shot off from the Batmobile. They proved that she didn’t have any injuries and she wasn’t even near the car when the guns were shut off and told her that she would lose her case if it went to trial. So if she promised to drop the case since she would lose and they would counter sue, they would give her $30,000. So that’s what she did. She dropped the case that she completely lied about and still got $30,000. That’s the problem with all these lawsuits and everyone is able to sue anyone over anything. I went to Disneyland one time and the Queen of hearts was walking by me and as she got close to me she poked me in the shoulder and looked at me funny. It was hilarious I didn’t go, “oh no my arms hurts. I’m going to sue you.” Stupid people I swear.
The attorney who takes the case should be disbarred. The judge who entertains the case, likewise. Any jury who awards her a DIME should be themselves prosecuted.
So more than likely if this happened as she said it wasn’t Goofys fault. Probably no fault on any of the parties.
Let me explain.
The woman says she was tieing the sho of her young kid. Pretty normal. No fault really there other than wrong place wring time scenario.
Now the character part of the story. It’s highly likely if this happened goofy probably didn’t even see her. Those character masks are very narrow in view. They can see down, up, or side to side without directly moving the head. Like having horse blinders on. That’s why the attendants are supposed to be with them. They see the blind spots the characters can’t.
Now they usually have at least 2 attendants with the characters for a number of reasons. One being 2 eyes are better than one. From the sound of it there was only one. If this was the case and the other attendant was distracted by other guests, there’s some room for a case of negligence on the parks part in the accident.
To make a long story short more than likely the character and attendant will never be in danger from the woman’s case while the park could possibly still be in the case of negligence at most. More than likely this will be all settled out of court.
I love Disney world Guffey is my favorite. My family and I go to the one in Florida. I would love to go back one day before I live this world 🌎 because it make me fill like a kid .love u Disney 💓 keep up the good work 💖
And let them people put on his head and see if thay can see its her fault for not moving to a safe place to tie her daughters shoe like out of the st . She is wrong for that .
If anyone has ever been in a costume you would know that it is very hard to see out of. That is why there are people handlers with them. I have had a Easter Bunny costume on and know how hard it is to see out of them. I bet that this person didn’t move all the way over to the side either. So until you have a clue what it takes to be in that costume you have no right to say anything.
What an idiot. Why are people always trying to sue over frivolous things?
Its either they want to sue or claim that they are offended by the rides and shows so they can ruin the fun and nostalgia for everyone else. These people should just not go to theme parks. Maybe just stay home.
I see all these negative comments like its her fault!? Were you there? As a parent you just tie your kids shoes anywhere when needed. And if you get rear ended in a car crash guess whose fault it is!? The car behind! Snd yes her behind hurt by a cast member IS their fault. Especially if she has medical records. I went with a C4-7 broadbased hernia to wdw and i have video of buzz twisting me around by my backpack fliping its sparkles up and down and i told him to stop i was a spinal cord injury patient clear as day in video and that moment he stopped lifted his hands mid air and staff came to my attention/aid. These costumes are hard plastic and not made to be fell on or pushed on the body if you haven’t experienced it then you shouldn’t speak. My spinal cord injury only was made visible when i got my brace and surgery. People don’t need to visibly see an injury for there to internally be one. Nerve pain is something you don’t want to have damaged, but these costumes if pushed on hard enough will cause damage
I too hope they have all kinds of video evidence because she probably planned this and jumped in front of the character on purpose. You know how Goofy makes that sound, “Duhuh?” He should have said, “Duhuh, dumbass!”
I think Goofy should countersue for not moving her child to an out of the path of traffic place to tie their shoe. Maybe grifters look for opportune places like Disney to gain their fortunes. Just sayin
Oh wow… ANOTHER ME TOO!!!??? Way to ruin everyone’s experience again… Just sounds like more “GIMME FREE MONEY FOR SOMETHING THAT REALLY DIDNT CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS” to EVERYONE else… But hey, you need that money for your own greed, sure WHY THE HELL NOT!!! People like this don’t need to pass this type of idiocy on to the next generation… Don’t get me wrong, if it was indeed some kind of serious injury, broken limb, blood gushing, what have you, then yes… Lawsuit, but SHE FELL DOWN FROM AN ALREADY DOWN POSITION!!! GTF OUTTA HERE WOTH THAT!!! STOP RUINING EVERYONE ELSE’S EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR STUPID CRAP!!!
Most slip and fall scammers through themselves in front of slow moving cars. Throwing yourself in front of a slow moving Disney Character is a new twist.
So, because of the fact, you were in the way, you are now going to sue Disney and everyone else involved since it was your fault and not theirs. Put your adult pants on, suck it up, and take some responsibility by realizing that accidents happen.
Another frivolous lawsuit. Get accidentally knocked over by a character of a very famous company and visions of dollar bills fill your mind. As one commenter suggested, I hope they do have someone discrertly follow her around. Eventually she’ll slip up.
HMMMM….No details of injury? Sounds like a nuisance lawsuit filed thinking Disney will just pay a settlement rather than incur legal costs for defense.
She had to stop in the way of characters & people to tie a kids shoe, she couldn’t go off to the side & it’s Disney’s fault. She created the blockage, sue yourself

If Goofy fell on someone, it was an accident. Not an on purpose. I doubt the person suffered a life long injury.

Actually your wrong. If your rear ended in a car accident. It’s no longer the car in the rears automatic fault. That went out the door many years ago.
