Thank you for this article, it was hard to read between the lines in this situation. However, I noticed a wording issue with this sentence, maybe correct it to sound more credible?
“As a fairy godmother apprentice, Cramblit’s role included welcoming children between the ages of three and 12 to the boutique and listening them tell her what they wanted their “royal transformation” to look like.”
Ridiculous. Disney needs to do better, and stand by their cast members. She did not violate any rules here. Obvious wrongful termination. Cast members are the best thing about Disney… upper management are often the worst.
If this is the “whole story”, than this girl should be offered a huge apology, the job of her choice and a very nice raise/promotion by Disney. And probably back pay also..
The whole story is probably the fact that the person who broke the rules only got a warning because they have some sort of relationship with somebody higher on food chain and it’s reeks of hey I’ve got friends who want to work here so since there’s no place for them at the moment we need to clear some space 😉 nudge nudge! I say this because, I have literally seen this happen while working at other amusement parks and even in retail!
Not sure if we know the whole story, maybe there were other instances. If this was a first offense then a warning would have been the right thing to do.
Just for reference the “photo” was actually a one of many, she was fired because her and her friends took sever backstage photos and posted them on the time lapse social media app which broke policy.
My DD was a FGIT in 2018 with the College Program and the OP is telling it all (for those who think there is more.) No backstage photos, especially not posted to social media.
I have to wonder if the friend was actually a friend. What better way to get someone fired at Disney? That friend had to know the rules – it’s one of the first hard and fast things they teach. I’m just shocked that they only got a warning when the entire situation was caused by them. That part (and the fact that some did not even know the pic was being taken) is not fair and just at all.
All 17 have a different story. But the facts remain the same. As one of the Ex Fairy Apprentices, I can confirm that certain people were targeted by an individual who went looking for photos on some social media app to turn into leadership and get certain other people into trouble. IN MY CASE, he photo I was fired for was taken of me and posted online by someone else, on their account, without my consent or knowledge. I don’t even use this particular app. But because I was “identifiable” (Disney’s wording) I was implicated and fired. There is a culture issue at Disney & the Boutique specifically. There is a mean girl, bullying issue too. I don’t believe I was a target, but the person who took my photo was and I lost 5 years doing a job I adored because of this. The company should be ashamed of how they handled this.

In case you were wondering whether or not Disney Inc. had a heart… Now you know. They are just as cruel as any of their worse characters.

If she was doing good job she should have been just given a stern warning. Disney should have handled this better.

Contact your Union Shop Steward! It’s probably to late now but you should of filed a claim for wrongful termination.

I heard a fairy apprentice named Chrisbel turned everyone in. She should be ashamed of herself.
