This is interesting from another angle that isn’t discussed:
There is quite a contingency of theme park regulars, some are vaccinated, some aren’t. It would be interesting to see what percentage of theme park regulars have gotten COVID and have it further divided out between vaccinated and unvaccinated theme park regulars. And while the data may be harder to collect, it would be interesting to see how masks play into it as well.

All I know is for the people I personally know:
My wife and I, we regularly go to theme parks, zoos, etc. (often once a week or more) and only wear masks where absolutely required to. We are both fully vaccinated and neither of us has gotten COVID.

A friend that works at DL did get COVID, but that was while the parks were shut down. She too only wears a mask when required and has not gotten sick in the parks, despite working 40 hours a week there. So, there is obviously some immunity there already.

    1. Jenni

There’s actually reason for me to believe this is the opposite due to mask mandates. I’m unvaccinated as is my family. We don’t live in fear and we don’t mask ourselves or our children as there is zero proof they do any good at protecting from virus. We cancelled our Disney trip when they added the mask mandate back. They really think you can sit shoulder to shoulder at the firework show maskless and be fine but need to mask up inside a ride where you’re with your family. It’s all for show at this point. It boils down to one thing, whether you’re afraid or not. We know many people in our area who have gotten covid and lived without ever stepping foot in a hospital. Most compared it to a cold or flu, some even less. It’s time we treat covid like the normal flu and move on with our lives free to do as we wish. Have the fearful stay home and order groceries, it isn’t my job to make anyone else feel safe from a virus.

      1. Maryann Sottile

I am vaccinated. My family and I plan to go to Disney World in 2022. We cancelled our 2021 trip. I don’t understand the unvaccinated thinking. So many diseases were completely irradicated because of vaccination. For example smallpox. I have been around a long time and what I see is vaccination is for the common good. The unvaccinated are selfish in their belief.

        1. Jarvis

Please stay home. Healthy individuals don’t need you shedding and spreading spike proteins.

          1. Traci

100% ignorant and selfish. Stay home if YOU are scared.

          2. Rich

Unfortunately, it was the spike protein from the vaccine that turned my wife’s previously undetected high blood proteins into multiple myeloma according to the doctors. Now someone who was completely healthy before the vaccine is fighting cancer.

        2. Nancy Jacobs-Dilley

          Amen

        3. Traci

Do a little research on how long those vaccines were tested before being unleashed on the general public. You’re selfish to think that I have to bow down to your opinion. I know many people who have had adverse reactions to the vaccine. I know two people who have died from covid spite of being vaccinated. It should be up to each person to protect themselves my body my choice doesn’t just apply to abortion

          1. that’s a false equivalence. you body your choice is fine when it comes to things that ONLY affect YOU. A virus is not a potential baby. it strikes ANYone ANYwhere and its mission is ONLY to reproduce and transmit to as many hosts as possible. Your confusion and self-interest can cost other people their lives. It’s unconscionable to have this kind of selfish thinking when we’re in a public health crisis. And WHY we’re still stuck in the morass is because some people disregard science and facts. You can spout all about “personal choice” while undermining the whole system. Thanks to this perverse thinking we ALL suffer.

          2. Jd

I got covid, showed symptoms and stayed home. It was a flu. Vaccinated people show little symptoms, think it is allergies and go out to spread it like wildfire. The vaccine does NOT prevent the virus. It does not kill the virus. It is resulting in a massive spread. Ask yourself why there are more cases of Covid after people started vaccinating than before…then sit down and be quiet. I didn’t tell you what to do with your body so show some equal respect.

          3. Sco

I totally agree with you Jd. Studies have been shown that people who are vaccinated carry the same viral load as unvaccinated people when they come in contact with the virus. This virus will NEVER be eradicated because it is different from the measles, small pox, etc. Covid is a cold virus. It will always be here. We also need to look at natural immunity. Antibodies are antibodies whether you got them naturally or from a vaccine. You get vaccines to protect YOURSELF. Stop this nonsense of doing it for the greater good. We all still spread it regardless of vaccine status.

        4. Dolly Edwards

The parks will lose money big time if they require vax. Natural immunity is 27 times better.

          1. Rich

Which is exactly why they won’t require the vasculitis. Disney is about the Benjamin’s.

          2. Rich

Meant the vaccine. Damn spell check

        5. Jamie

Here’s the problem. You can get it vaccinated or unvaccinated. You can spread it with or without a mask. It’s man made & the people in charge are making millions off it while the rest of the people struggle. There have been no honesty on the mandates & no honesty from the media outlets on side effects or long term. We need all pros & cons whether good or bad. Lies regarding it makes it easier to turn away. I’m living my life without fear or hate. My kids will too. If you are afraid, stay home. I won’t. I work 40+ hours a week without any shut downs & we have been fine. If I get it, I get it. I’ll deal with it & it’s none of anyone’s concern. If I’m ever not feeling well, I stay home & not go out to give anything to anyone.

      2. J.

Agree with you Jenni. My family is another one of those that had Covid and made it through just fine. After our positive tests, we were told to take Tylenol or Ibuprofen for any fever, we were given a decongestant and a cough medicine if we needed it and were told to stay home for 10 days. My husband who tends to develop bronchitis with the slightest cold dealt with it the worst and developed a mild case of walking pneumonia which cleared up right away with meds. For myself, I ran a temperature for a few days, did need to take the decongestant for some nasal/sinus issues, but didn’t need the cough medicine at all. As for the kids, one ran a temperature the first night but after that, never looked back and the second one was absolutely unaffected. We have had flus that were FAR worse. Now that millions upon millions of people have had it and recovered we are at or approaching a mortality rate comparable to a flu and you are right, it should be treated as that and life should move on. It will eventually. The media has been beating a drum of fear for approaching two years now, preaching that society will be on the verge of collapse any minute. You can only try to terrify people for so long before they realize that nothing of the sort is happening. Sooner of later, Covid WILL be treated as the flu. New shots will come out seasonally to handle new strains just as we do with the flu now and anyone who is at risk or afraid will get a shot and those who aren’t will not bother. (again, just as with the flu) We just have to ride out this wave of hysteria until common sense prevails again.

        1. Natasha

I couldn’t agree more and my daughter and I are fully vaccinated! I could fare less whom around are and are not.. doesn’t matter too me in the least! If these people want to risk their own lives, so be it. Not my problem. Why should the unvaccinated need to vaxx to protect the vaccinated that got vaccinated to be protected? See how. Ridiculous this sounds? CDC just stated that the vaccinated and unvaccinated are carrying the same viral load so it doesn’t matter if your vaxxed or not! Most have been vaccinated or have caught covid already it’s time to stop
This overreacted hysteria and move on! And LA county has lost their minds! The unhealthy department Barbara what’s her name should ge fired ASAP for drumming up uneccesary fear over what had bevome the sniffles at this point! Wearing a mask out doors is nothing but theater at this point to calm the covid Karen’s and make them feel safe! Stay home forever covid Karen’s

          1. Kim

Yes! I couldn’t agree with you more and I’m not vaccinated. If the vaccine works then why are the vaccinated afraid of the unvaccinated? If you had Covid you have NATURAL IMMUNITY and don’t need the shot. We can all make personal decisions based on our situations. No, I’m not a lunatic. I have vaxed and unvaxed friends and hang out with all of them. I love and respect them and their personal decisions.
I think unvaxed feel safer going to the parks either because they have had the virus or they have jacked up their immune systems, as have I, and aren’t scared of getting it.
Wholeheartedly agree with you on STOPPING THE FEARMONGERING.

        2. sco

          amen

      3. see my reply to Traci.

      4. Oh, I so agree with you. It’s no one else’s business whether you are vaxxed or not. Everyone has responsibility for themselves whether to do what they want to take care of their health. The fear mongers theories have gotten old and people are waking up to that.

      5. CJA

It most certainly is your job to watch out for your fellow human beings. You are the danger, so you are the one to stay home! I cannot believe that somehow you have managed to think that there is no proof that vaccinations or masks work, when the numbers are posted at least weekly. Don’t be fooled by nonmedical but political pundits, particularly the American Frontline Doctors (AFLDS), which has so far made close to 15 million dollars from the sale of Ivermectin and hydroxychloquine.

        1. Jake

          Well said!

      6. Just lia

No not really it comes down to if care about others or not. How on earth have we become such a selfish country

    2. Steve

I think this shows that Disney was wrong to cater to the germaphobes. No matter how much covid theater was put in place for these people, ruining the escapism, they weren’t going to be potential customers anyway.

How many cases have been linked to the parks?

      1. Jarvis

I love the term Covid Theater. Excellent description.

      2. D

        Amen Steve.

    3. Kathie Miles

I was at DW Sept 19-25. We all are vaccinated. We had to wear mask inside in closed in areas. Outside was optional. The parks weren’t crowded. Indoors the air was on. Standing in lines everyone wore mask. Some Ppl that say they have friends that have been fully vaccinated but have gotten over Covid, doesn’t mean Covid doesn’t kill. It depends on underlying conditions. Ppl with weak immunities are at higher risk. It’s crazy how ppl think it doesn’t affect them. Maybe they are lucky or just asymptotic. Ppl that don’t want to wear mask should not be let into establishments unmasked. It’s not living in fear if you wear a mask it’s being thoughtful to the many with weak immune system & for all children who are not vaccinated yet. I agree with mask mandates & all these CRAZY PPL UNMADK CAUSE THEY THINK THE VIRUS DOESNT EXIST ARE FLAT OUT CRACRA. Once one of their family members get it & possibly die, they may of wished they were vaccinated. If you don’t want to mask up stay home.

      1. Jake

        Well said!

  2. harry

amazing how the people who aren’t living in constant fear tend to visit theme parks more because they are living life
in theory there should really be no real difference between the two. If the people are vaccinated then they shouldn’t be afraid of covid right? right???

    1. Drew

Why do people seem to want to put each other on one side or the other all the time? I haven’t been fearful of Covid for one second in all this, but I got vaccinated so I could contribute to a solution and get out and do stuff. Sadly, the powers that be have reneged on all that. But it’s never been about fear for me. I do believe if you are old, obese, or have health issues, you should be more cautious than the rest of us. But the idea that the unvaxxed are brave and the vaxxed are fearful is just simpleton silly. Many are unvaccinated because they are terrified of side effects, what about them? Many are vaccinated and bravely work in ERs full of the disease, what about them? Bottom line is, the sooner we start treating each other respectfully, as individuals, and not as cliche villainous right or left stereotypes, the sooner this country can become whole again. If we even collectively want that at this point.

      1. Bridget P

        👍🏻

      2. Traci

        WELL SAID!!!

      3. Kelly Connerton

        Amen!

    2. Linda Kulik

I agree with Harry. Get out and start living your life. Vaccinated or unvaccinated , people are still getting the virus.

      1. rroe

People are getting the Virus because of those that are NOT vaccinated and could care less about anyone else but there selves. These are now the people you see on the news in the ICU’s in the Hospitals and then they try to tell you, “Wish I would have gotten the vaccination”…. Wake up people……vaccines of all kinds were meant to protect us all.

        1. Natasha

Umm no it does not. CDC just stated we all carry the same viral load
And forward it regardless if your vaccinated or not and yes I’m fully vaccinated to protect myself not others because my vaccination doesn’t do that, if it did then the unvaccinated would be bullied into getting vaxxed. The notion that the unvaccinated need to protect the vaccinated is made up ridiculousness to force then to get the vaccine. But we’re onto the powers that be. Why am I a vaccinated person still being forced to wear a mask to protect the ones that don’t want the vaccine? Complete nonsense! The government has lied to all of us even after getting vaccinated and now they wonder why more don’t want their vaccines? Gee I wonder why? If the unvaccinated don’t care about their own health why would they run out and get a vaccine to protect protect others if we’re told repeatedly that the vaccine doesn’t stop infection or transmission and getting the jab still means wearing your fear device forever so why would they bother getting it! The stupid ones that came up with this plan need to be removed ASAP!

        2. Jd

Lol wrongo buckaroo. I got covid and never thought for one second that I wished I had gotten the vax. I DO CARE. I stayed in out of respect for others. The vaccinated walk around sick without knowing it and spreading it. Newsflash the vaccinated are the reason this is spreading. The vaccine only prevents severity. You can still get it. You can still spread it. The vax only lasts six months. That’s why people with the vax are in the hospital.
Funny how you think we are selfish…isn’t that what you are being? Thinking everyone should do what YOU want. This is America and we have a thing called freedom. Stay out of my freedoms and I’ll stay out of yours.

        3. Rich

And that’s exactly the problem “what you see on the news.” The “news” is agenda driven and shows anecdotal bits to support their view and blocks out info they don’t want you to see. Do you know how many thousands have died right after getting the vaccine. Look at the CDC VAERs site. Of course they say they can’t “prove” a connection between the vaccine and the deaths of the recipients. If you were healthy two weeks before, unless it was a car accident or heart attack, that’s all the proof a reasonable person needs.

          1. D.R.RD.

But they sure could prove the connection that every death was covid so easily. SMH

    3. Jarvis

      👍

    4. Tamara

EXACTLY Harry I had Covid last year only had a mild cold and running nose none different than what I normally get and my hubby or the kids didn’t test postive…a couple of months ago he went and got vaccinated and I’m not I wear my mask I practice safety protocols but I’m not living in fear either

    5. D.R.

As opposed to the people who have made billions from selling the covid vaccine 🤣
People are not inherently unhealthy and dangerous, geez. The common sense can be the same common sense we’ve always had… Stay home WHEN you’re sick. That’s it.

  3. Trent

Not surprised at all. One word explains it. Fear.

  4. JZ

I absolutely do not think theme parks should require proof of vaccine or testing, but Firefly just did it in DE and that’s all outside too so who knows how it will all shake out

  5. Matt

I don’t believe that theme parks should require proof of vaccination or testing. Nor should they require masks while outside. My wife and I got vaccinated in March as soon as we could. We only wear masks where required. We spent two weeks in North and South Dakota touring the states in Sept 2020, a week at WDW this year in January, and 2 weeks in late April of this year in Tennessee including a 2-day visit to Dollyworld. We take precautions to minimize the risks involved, but refuse to live in fear of a possibility of infection. Last week we had antibody tests performed with negative results as with a current PCR test showing no infection. Another trip planned in the near future.

    1. Dulcie

I’m confused about your negative antibody test. Shouldn’t you have antibodies if you were vaccinated? Hubby and I are fully vaccinated too. Just curious.

      1. Kim

My understanding is that only people who have had the virus have antibodies. The shot has mRNA spike protein that is programmed to seek out the original virus. It has no virus in it; thus no antibodies. That is also why vaxed people are getting the Delta variant. The shot isn’t looking for the variant.
All other vaccines have a little bit of virus in them to make the bodies immune system kick in to fight the virus. That is how you get antibodies.
I think the we all need to start realizing is that they just DON’T KNOW. The information the gov’t puts out changes daily, and the censoring of people with scientific data that is different makes people distrust them. Again, just how I understand the information I read.

  6. Pete marin

I believe they should make them required show vaccination. I was vaccinated got both of my shots went to Disney world and a week later I came back with a virus positive. too many people feel that it’s infringement against their rights but is it really we have stop signs to protect us and if you don’t stop at a stop sign you get arrested. that stop sign is not to protect yourself but to protect other people around you it’s the same thing with masks and vaccinations.

    1. Pete

You got vaccinated and STILL got covid? Lol. Sounds like the vaccine is effective. People like you REALLY need to wake up. It’s sad how blind you are to what’s happening in the world.

      1. Terry

I don’t think the person even knew what he was saying! Proved himself wrong…

      2. Marie

The vaccine doesn’t KEEP you from getting it. It just minimizes the symptoms. My family has gotten the vaccine. We knew it wouldn’t keep us from getting the virus. We wanted to protect our elderly parents.

      3. Thedreamfinder

You need to understand that vaccines don’t keep you from getting it but instead help subside the side effects. I can’t believe people don’t educate themselves more.

        1. Jarvis

That is not what you were sold. You were told it was a vaccine. I’m sorry you fell for it. I hope your immune system can recover.

          1. Rachel

Actually, the vaccine was mad against one of the first strains of the virus. Since there are so many unvaccinated people the virus has been able to mutate (as all viruses do unchecked). So now we have a mutation spreading that the vaccine was not created to defend against. Science is science and if you attended public school in this country odds are you have been vaccinated for many very infectious diseases already. If you feel so strongly about this one you should talk to your doctor and stop consulting social media. Social media is a great place to post pictures and keep in touch with people, but I’m pretty sure if you had a strange lump appear that’s not where you would go to get answers. You would probably go to a doctor. If you need information about something medical, you should seek the advice of experts and not the ibternet.

          2. Rachel isnt so bright

There is no covid vaccine, a vaccine will prevent you from getting and spreading a disease. It’s a proven fact that that is not happening with covid. The vaccines we all took to attend public schools are “vaccines”. How many people took the polio vaccine only to get polio later but with less severe symptoms? None. The fact that you blame mutations on the unvaccinated shows your ignorance. Maybe take your own advice and talk to a doctor. They will tell you that “vaccinated” or not, you can still get and spread the virus. The only thing the so-called covid “vaccine” does is lessens the severity once you get the virus. It has nothing to do with lessening the chances of spreading the virus. Do some research.

      4. Kamm

Living to tell about having had Covid is the difference. If not vaccinated he may likely have died. But, it’s a waste of time trying to talk sense to anti-vaxxers as you care about no one but yourselves.

        1. Rich

Or he may have recovered fine as 99% of people who get it do. But the media doesn’t tell you that part.

    2. SB

Maybe you need to research HOW vaccines work lol. Thanks for the laugh!

  7. Chris

Slippery slope requiring vaxx passes. The vaccine doesn’t keep you from contracting or passing on covid, just minimizes the reaction. So what is the point of “requiring” vaccination status? Seems a little 1984ish to many. Last thing we need is to divide people up between vaccinated and unvaccinated. If people choose to not be vaccinated that’s on them, let’s all move on.

    1. Connie

      Amen.

  8. Ashley G

I visited Disney World (unvaccinated) 3 times since they reopened in July of 2020. I followed all protocols to a “T.” I did not get Covid on any of those visits. Ditto for my husband and grandson. And…as we have all seen by now, being vaccinated is NO guarantee that a person won’t get or spread Covid. This article is completely bogus.

    1. Marie

People REALLY need to brush up on how vaccines work and what they do.

  9. Shaz

No vaccine passports are discriminatory and should not be used. Otherwise you are creating a 2 tier society. It is a choice whether you have the vaccine or not and you should not be trying to implement a policy like this at any point .I am shocked that Disney would even consider using this pass. Walt would be turning in his grave !!.

    1. Marie

Where does it say they are considering it?

  10. The Truth

Why isn’t anyone ever taking into account those who have gotten covid and recovered? You will never reach 100% vaccination in this country because there is a huge number of people who’ve gotten covid and recovered. No need for a vaccine, we already beat it once and we will beat it again.

    1. Candy

Exactly!!! I got a moderate to severe case earlier this year. There is absolutely no scientific reasoning I should get the vax…. As well as everyone else who recovered from it.

      1. Bob

Statistics show that most unvaxed who get COVID will end up in the hospital and many will die. Eventually, healthcare cost will rise significantly and health insurance companies will base premiums on the increased costs. The unvacinated do not need to care because most will be dead. Problem solved.

        1. Jarvis

          Statistics prove you are wrong.

        2. Rich

What world are you living in? Even the crazy media is not spouting this kind of nonsense. Statistics show 99% of those getting Covid, vexed or unvaxed recover just fine.

        3. K

Bob, do you live in a cave? Statistics show no such thing. If this were true, with the millions upon millions who caught it within the last year and 10 months or so, the graveyards would be overflowing. The truth is that 99% of those who get it recover just fine. Since only a small portion require any hospitalization, the insurance rates will be just fine. Please educate yourself with a real scientific journal and not the 10 second soundbites of your local “news”.

          1. Mutt Lang

            K:

I think Bob peeked into the cave you live in, and found it to be overflowing with falsehoods and disinformation. Do yourself a favor and speak to someone that works in a hospital (like me). It is a FACT that 95% of the people taking up beds in ICU units are unvaccinated. Hopefully you will not need any kind of elective surgery soon, because you know what? You won’t be able to have it! Why? Because the hospital is too busy treating COVID patients. These are NOT people with “runny noses”, they are people on ventilators. Death toll in the USA passed 700,000 people today. They did not DIE from having a cold.

          2. woof woof

mutt you need to go bark in a cave, it is NOT a fact that 95% of ICU beds today are filled by unvaccinated people, changing bed pans in a hospital doesn’t give you the right to get online and spew garbage, and very sad about the 700,000 deaths, if we could only go back in time and tell all those people to put a mask on and stay 6 feet away from other they would all be alive today, oh wait most of them were doing that already, never mind

    2. Rachel

What about the hundreds of thousands of people who have died? What if getting the vaccine could have saved half of them? Why should people die when it can be prevented?

      1. Gamora

What about the people who have died or been seriously injured due to these vaccines. You really should look into Vaers, Israel, Australia, Yellow Card (UK) before you claim that this vaccine would have saved them.

  11. Candy

This is a horribly written article…. Keep the fear mongering. Why is no one addressing those that already recovered from COVID. Last year we lived in California, went to Texas twice and then to Florida once. During our trip to Florida visited the parks. Didn’t get COVID. But I did get pneumonia from wearing the mask. This year, my husband and I did get COVID, from whom you might ask, my in laws. My 60 something in-laws got it from work, it spread through out their work place. My mother in law decided to make soup and she made enough for us. Let’s just say we joke about the COVID soup. We all survived. We were all given Ivermectin, a good 50 plus (I really don’t know the full numbers because of families). Once my husband and I recovered we moved from California to Florida, and have been at the parks several times (almost every weekend) since moving here. Not one of has gotten sick or reinfected. We’ve been out and about and have lived life. True science is that if your infected with the virus and recover you have a natural immunity. The reason why vax were created was so that people wouldn’t get as sick as the natural infection. But people are still getting sick and going to the hospital with this jab…. We all know it’s different then other vax. So it apparently not working. Why would I want to risk the natural immunity that I have by getting something that is not as effective as everyone was told it would be?

    1. So true, I loved your response but those that believe the hype from the main stream media and the dementia riddled White House will never see the light just this covid train coming to run them over. You only get this one life so don’t live it in fear and hate. Why is the group yelling the loudest about accepting other individuals choices for their life, like gender and reproductive rights, the first to condemn about health choices for one self, very mixed messaging.

      1. Stefan Skibinski

I guess 700.000 people dying is what bothers me and the fact that we think it cant happen to us. IN 1904 because of a smallpox epidemic a state wide order was given to mandate the vaccine , people sued , went to the supreme court .Everyone should take the time to look up on their own there written decision.

        1. Stan

You’re right about the court case. That was also a time when the same court said it was ok to imprison Japanese-Americans.

    2. Michael Jones

You got pneumonia? From wearing a mask? That is the stupidest thing I have ever read. So stupid, I’m fact, that I had to create an account just to reply to your comment. Holy cow you are the reason we need mandates. Because people (like you) are so ignorant it is dangerous. I’ll bet you are having trouble understand people’s emotions because you can’t see the lower half of their faces as well.

I should get going, I don’t want to catch your pneumonia by standing so close to the computer. /s

      1. D.R.

Lol, why don’t you explain how that is so stupid? You claim it with no reason behind it.

      2. Jebidiah Linburg

Anecdotal evidence only but I got only got sick once during the pandemic. It started while being forced to wear a breath soaked mask outside for a few hours. I will not wear one outside again.

      3. erin

you’re the stupid one michael if you thought you had to create an account to make a comment

  12. Sara

Ha! Look at the source of this bunch of nonsense, so called study! Enough said! They just know that a lot of people like to go to theme parks, so they are just trying to dictate every aspect of people’s lives! They are not going to leave one stone unturned! Totally pathetic! Lol 😂😖

  13. Sue

I’m glad to see that most comments are against vaccine passports or proof of a negative tests. No one needs to know each others health information and we are not obligated to each other for each other’s health. Stop living in fear and live your life. We all must go to meet the Creator one day and nothing can stop that.
Florida already has requirements in place that no one can ask for proof of vaccination status and cannot mandate it. Because Disney and Orange County choose to ignore executive orders, it is going to become state law.
Wake up people. More and more people are choosing to walk off the job – whether or not they are vaccinated – but because they are against the mandates.
Universal Studios in LA County needs to stand up to the tyranny and refuse to comply.

  14. Lee

The part I don’t get is they have you stand in lines that have plexiglass barriers, then load you on a ride right next to a stranger. Please tell me the point? I would rather stand in line then ever sit next to a stranger even prior to Covid. They could have any number of communicable diseases that you don’t know about. How many of your healthcare workers have hepatitis or HIV or work when they have a cold or flu? It goes on and on but we are so beaten down by main stream media to worry about Covid.
So the vaccine makes you less likely to have severe illness , well we had Covid and we felt like a bad flu , but no hospital stays or even a doctors visit. So, even without a vaxx jab we had less severe illness. So I will continue to mask up , stand away from strangers and continue to just do my thing. Oh and by the way , as a former healthcare worker let me tell you the number of times I’ve been really sick and told come to work or be written up because they were short staffed…. So did they really care about the patient, because if they were severely immunocompromised I shouldn’t have even been in their room as sick as I was or as
Sick as many of my co workers have been over the years. It’s a running joke about how the hospitals tell sick visitors to stay away but sick employees come to work or risk reprimands …..

  15. DIS

And yet Disney is firing cast for not getting the jab to protect the unvaccinated. Unbelievable

  16. CT

It’s none of my business whether or not the person beside me is vaccinated. It’s a personal decision and as vaccinated people can still pass on the virus it’s up to each individual to decide what is best for them. I am fully vaccinated, but that is my choice. My health choices are my personal responsibility. If Disney requires proof of vaccination then I will not go, because to me it is an issue of privacy intrusion.

  17. Karlk

My family will be heading down soon, all unvaxxed. If it wasn’t for articles like this and media push everyone would have forgotten about this nonsense. Can’t wait to get down there everyone is so excited.

  18. Jan

The fact that this study came out of New York should speak VOLUMES! They want to shut down the nation until the next elect is over and all the fools have gotten their extra funds to pad their bank accounts! Notice they didn’t say what states they got their respondents from? I have a friend that lives in NY and has travelled from there to FL three times during this crazy and she is fine and I have another friend that basically stays at home got the jab in the first wave and she has her groceries and meds delivered and she has gotten it twice after the second shot was two weeks old. It’s all up for grabs like a cold or the regular flu as to who is going to get it and how serious it is going to be. But immunity is the best way to go as it lasts lots longer than a shot! If you have immunity why should you get a shot??

  19. Rose Badinger

Your biased sounding article doesn’t include numbers of us who had covid and now have the anti bodies.
We we are no more likely to carry covid then the vaxed. Actually our antibodies are 13x stronger against covid than those vaxed. You also imply a lack of education amongst the non vaxed. So rude!
    I am offended!
By the way I will be visiting Disney world before the end of the year. 😝

    1. Jarvis

      👍👍👍

  20. rroe

Disney only cares about their bottom line. If they really cared about their guests they would make it mandatory that all guests show proof of vaccination before being allowed into the parks. This is to protect all guests and make them feel safe. Disney will not get a dime from me until. Mask mandates help, but are only a glorified “Band-Aid”. Shoulder to shoulder in the crowded parks will get you a one way trip to your hospitals ICU unit.

  21. J

How is this news, of course people who are ready for things to be normal again will be willing to go out and those who are terrified and cowering at home will not. Hopefully the one thing that will come of this is that maybe Disney will realize who their biggest demographic is and get with the rest of the state of FL and dump the masks and restrictions for good. I keep pushing my trips there back until it is the full experience again. It costs far too much to spend 100% of the money for 50% of the experience. In the meantime, I have been spending my hard-earned vacation dollars in places that are back to normal.

  22. tina

Not true..we got vacinated so we can goto Disney on our vacation. We had a great time. I don’t believe in mandates it’s the people’s choice..but we chose to do it because we are 50.

  23. Barb

Sorry to tell you this, but you had covid before you went to the parks! Even the CDC says it takes 2 weeks for it to show up on your system, so you had it before you went! But keep trying to spread the fear!

  24. kenr

I am vaccinated because I wanted to be and I was hoping to do my part in ending the stupid mask mandates. I have the highest protection possible and therefore am unconcerned with what others do or don’t do when it comes to this highly politicized and exaggerated virus. If people don’t want to take the vaccine, I don’t care. It is their business.

  25. hellomikie91

There should be no vaccine mandates anywhere. It’s resembles too much like WW2 Germany where people had to show papers to go from point a to point b. I am vaccinated myself, but it was my choice. People shouldn’t be forced to take vaccinations just so they can live life. Life has too many restrictions as it is.

    1. Hellomikie91 is an idiot

Have you not heard about how they dealt with Polio or you just love Facebook crap.

      1. erin

How many people took the polio vaccine and then got polio later with less severity? none. Can’t say that about this so called “virus” can you? People are getting and spreading the virus whether they are vaccinated or not. Me taking the experimental jab is not lessening the spread or chances of anybody else getting the virus. So who’s the real idiot here?

    2. Hellomikie91 is an idiot

Have you not heard about how they dealt with Polio or you just love Facebook nonsense?

  26. Shelley Mae

No! What happened to Freedom in America. Stop forcing people! Let’s live our lives the way we please! If you don’t want the vaccine you don’t have to get it and you don’t have to show proof of anything!

  27. Bill Nye not a science guy

I truly love all the anti vaxers with the quote “Studies and Reports” that show the vaccine is dangerous for this, it doesn’t do that. I challenge all you ignorant people. Include a website where I can see these “Results” because obviously you have access to these findings. Oh wait…You can’t because they don’t exist. Keep spreading the rhetoric oh and good health to you!

    1. Yes

This. I wanna see their “results” and “research” too. Funny how they brag about the research and how we are wrong but have none. 🤨

    2. Rich

Well they DO exist. Look up the CDC website on adverse reactions to the vaccine which obviously the news sources you adhere to refuse to mention. It will mention how ,any people DIED after taking the vaccine. Is that dangerous enough for you?

  28. Joe ECKMAN

Your study is so full of holes it’s like swiss cheese

    1. John "Swiss Cheese Logic" Ecknan

And your logic is full of holes like Swiss cheese.

    2. D.R.

      🤣

  29. Neil

Pandemics are like a wild fire, and humans are the trees. Some trees are dry and catch fire easily, some are green and young and don’t catch fire as easily. Sometimes a fire starts in a place where there aren’t other trees around and it dies out.

All these fights we’re having over masks, mandates, social distancing, how severe the disease is, are the exact same arguments we were having in 1918 with the Spanish Flu. There were mandates back then too, it wasn’t the end of liberty.

Don’t be kindling, get the jab.

  30. Tom T

If they do it to one virus, they need to do it to ALL or NOT. Viruses can’t pick & choose which venus they plan on invading. Also, the individuals involved who aloud this pandemic to occur need to be held accountable as a crime to humanity.

  31. Matthew Brewster

ALL the Diz parks in the US should require call their guests to be vaccinated! It is allowed in California. Unfortunately, Florida’s dillusional Governor still refuses to allow mandates.
