    Doesn’t bother me at all.

If you are triggered by an orange cartoon bird then your issues are very troublesome and you should immediately seek professional help.

    1. If they’re mad at Anita Bryant why take it out on a defenseless little orange bird? Another dumb Disney move.

    2. Patricia Bowden Hawes

      I agree.

You’ll be offended if you WANT to be offended.

    Go Woke Go Broke Disney!

    1. Monica

So why are you on a Disney-related website if you’re anti-Disney?

    2. Mary

Tell us how an orange bird is woke!!! And Disney is far from broke I know you hate that but it is reality

      1. Jennie

It was her, not the bird. Let the orange bird live

    3. Kungaloosh

I guess legit Christians are destined to go broke then, since Jesus was woke.

  4. Lil

It’s an orange juice mascot that’s happy and harmless. Never heard of the woman until now and couldn’t care less since she’s been irrelevant for more than 40 years. Keep on bringing the OB back.

  5. Cheryl C

The bird didn’t do anything. He can’t be blamed for Anita Bryant!

  6. Matt

With the heavy-handed rhetoric, I thought I was going to read that OB had worn blackface.

    1. Doug

      Now that’s funny!

I often wonder why entities such as this insist on keeping the pot stirred. Those were different times. That was a different culture. If you insist on dredging this stuff up continuously, why not promote learning from those things or maybe illustrating how things have changes (even if it’s just a little bit) rather than this constant click bait about the evils of the past? Not that everything has to be sunshine and roses. But sheesh, everything isn’t evil either.

Dumbest thing ever is to be “offended” by a cartoon Orange Bird.

People need to get lives and stop trying to find fake crap to be “offended” a bout.

  9. Jo

    Love orange bird, keep flying

      Doesn’t faze me
OB is adorable. Again we see Disney backtracking because some woke person can’t handle life and made a fuss. It seems that someones opinion doesnt matter anymore as long as the left wokists wins. Does anyone remember when Disney didn’t allow gay pride aka gay days to be shown in the parks at all. In 1991 it started and Up until early 2000’s gay pride week was a red shirt only day and everyone knew it. Disney kept their mouths shut about allowing them in the parks. In case we didn’t notice Disney has been woke years ago but has always maintained that their parks are family oriented. Doesn’t surprise me this would hit the top now.

      1. Mary

Please explain how exactly orange bird is woke??

      2. Yvonne

Explain how they are “backtracking” too. There was so much Orange Bird merchandise at the Parks this month! I got an adorable sipper and Loungefly bag!

      3. Kungaloosh

While you’re at it, explain why being woke is not “family-oriented.” Jesus was woke. I guess you don’t believe Jesus to be a “family values” kinda guy, or maybe you just don’t really know what woke means because you believed the manufactured definition you were spoon-fed by the alt-right.

    Oh good grief.

  11. WDW Original

Literally nothing offensive about Orange Bird

  12. Ellen

Omg Disney haters are ridiculous!! It is a flipping bird and a Florida symbol

  13. Tom

The bird was a co-star and had zero to due with her views. I remember the adds and her views in the news and Orange bird was never mentioned in her views. So, leave Orange Bird alone, he wasn’t involved in any if her actions. If this unreal character hurts you and you weren’t around, there is a lot worse past history to worry about then. Enjoy life and move on, you don’t need to buy it.

How about real data showing the analysis that makes Orange Bird and/or Brer Rabbit and friends really problematic characters. Anita Bryant was a problem, she has not been used in decades, why does Orange Bird have to be held to the same shame? The Brer animals come from a problematic movie that is near impossible to find. Without the Song of the South, they are just adorable cartoon characters. What is the problem?
Today at a Metropolitan Opera performance of Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette the transmission via satellite would freeze up due to bad weather in NY and in South Florida. During the intermission General Manager Peter Gelb blamed the weather on global warming. While it is possible that global warming has worsened the severity of some weather events, we should not be blaming just rain, thunder, and wind storm on global warming.

She wasn’t wrong it’s happening today in our schools.

    1. Kungaloosh

It’s happening today because it should be, and because prejudiced morons like Anita Bryant tried and failed to impose her unhealthy views on society decades ago. Nobody remembers her anymore until someone writes an article like this, because the woke movement keeps winning to prevent stains like her from having any real impact. It’s called progress.

So sad how we just bend every time someone uses the phrase ‘I’m ‘offended…’. I adored the Orange Bird as a child and I still do!
