I must admit I’m astonished at the amount of books being banned. And to see encyclopedias, dictionaries being banned too??? What are these poor children learning, and where will it end? Maybe people need to read “Farenheit 451” because I swear someone who read the book is using it to enact a live version. To ban history, to ban any book because it does not go with your virtues is actually infringing on someone else’s rights, and a parent’s rights. It’s time to face it, we are not in the 1600’s, 1700’s, 1800’s any longer. Families have changed, dynamics have changed. Is banning books about divorced parents next??? I mean that’s unacceptable to some people right? Don’t tell me we are a free country when we are being saddled with more and more laws, watching our freedom of choice being taken away, all because some believe everyone should believe as they do, and if we don’t, then our rights should be taken away to satisfy the puritans. I thought this was supposed to be America and we were free. Guess not. More like a different time in history is where this road is taking us. Oh, and quit judging others, it’s not your job, only God is allowed to judge. Don’t like the topic, don’t read it. Pretty simple concept. Don’t want your kids to read it, well you can try to prevent them from reading it, but all that does is spark their curiosity. Trust me, I remember my childhood days. Seems like a lot of people who are saying they are for this mess don’t realize they are tempting their children with the forbidden fruit. Maybe think on things, and realize the tables could turn at any time.
