I for one welcome the cloudy days, much less chance of getting badly sunburned by the tropical Florida sun. You would not believe how many people I see with super-red skin who obviously forgot or did not want to wear sunscreen. If it does rain, it typically only lasts about 20 minutes before being quickly swept away with more sun. More bothersome is wind, which is more continuous and not only tends to blow away ears, hats, and jackets, but also causes the skyliner to stop or even close down.
Okay, okay. It has only been the last decade that the change to open water parks in Florida during the winter began. The reason to do so probably came from complaints from Canadians and Europeans who are used to cold waters and wanted to soak up the sun in chlorinated water and the missed opportunity that came from having the parks closed at that time. Usually though the parks were also renovated during this downtime.
So, a few cloudy days caused by warmer waters in the Pacific closing the water parks is still a win for them when based upon the decades of winter closures.

You can get sunburned on cloudy days as well….. So many people don’t get this, think they’re safe.

It is called weather. Every year is different.

Those of us who live here and are outside prefer cloudy days. The sun is hot. Makes being outside uncomfortable. Overcast skies makes it bearable.
