The place that needs removal of seat divider is 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. I have to sit sideways— otherwise the hump on the side will bruise my hip. I am on Aspirin and a blood thinner and just found I need to adjust my sitting position in order to enjoy the ride without getting black & blue a few hours later.
Having just visited this attraction, I can see the thought process. The wait time is long and then you see only two people get into a single row that can accommodate two to three more people (adjustments can be made where necessary). I don’t think there is a need for tape. I think it comes down to staff management and doing what they do on other rides. They need to look for people traveling in groups of one, two or three to come up the line to fill in where there is a void. This would drastically cut down on the wait times for rides with open rows like this that fit multiple people. On that note, some customers need to get off their high horses and accept sitting with other people. We could all use a little extra boost in human connection and communication beyond our inner circles. I think this move by Disney carried good intentions but was poorly executed. The wait times at Disneyland during a “slow” period seemed high. I cannot imagine this ride during peak vacation months.
As Disney’s former CFO Christine McCarthy so eloquently stated, “We can cut portion size, which is probably good for some people’s waistlines”.
Perhaps Disney is echoing her sentiments by narrowing the seat designations.
Or maybe the lines are meant as a divider……for each cheek?

So what happens when you end up with someone who is a very large sized person in your row? You can’t ALWAYS fit 5 people in your row.
