River Country was a must for me, I even got my parents to visit once. My mom and I even met some of the MMC members there. I loved it more than the other water parks and still miss it.
I’d never heard that the new resort had been scrapped, but I’m glad that they are honoring River Country another way.
My wife and I on our first visit to Disney World spent one day in 1992 at River Country. We had fun at the park as it had a pool area with volleyball and a sandy bottom. I miss that place. It was more of a family area than the other water parks.
River Country was such a fun water Park. My family went several times when I was a kid. I tell my children about the water park and how much fun it was. One memory , I hold special in my heart.

I loved that place! We went every time we visited Disney. I loved how it was rustic like Fort Wilderness.

Hubby & I went there on our honeymoon, then took our kids several times. Loved it. Was so sad it wasn’t refurbished for the campground.

These new cabins look like my tool shed. Kind of a weird modern aesthetic for an “Old West Fort” theme.
