      NO,NO,NO
IT IS PERFECT just leave it alone.
      PLEASE,
      You can’t improve on perfection

      1. Andy

There are some movies that should never be remade. This is one of them

    2. J

How about instead of constantly remaking and throwing woke propaganda into Classic Movies, people should actually try doing something original. Anytime anything has to be remade to prove some racial point, it’s doomed to fail. Leave the classics they are

      1. Jennifer Rogers

Although I think the original is perfect, I could see a new version with a person of color—perhaps with a different title. Hollywood remade “The Bishop’s Wife” with Denzel Washington & Whitney Houston, changing the title slightly—and was successful. “A Christmas Carol” has been remade many, many times. Once someone mentions “wokeness”, we all know the reason for that closed mind.

      2. Linda

Absolutely correct. It is part oh history! Leave it alone and make something original!! Woke ideaology is ruining so many classics!!!

        1. John

I can only hope nobody goes to see these, maybe then they will quit these unneeded and unwanted remakes

      3. Lee

        I agree 100%
        Leave the classics alone!!!!

    3. CINDY ROMEO

DITTO!!! Such a bad idea. It’s doomed for sure.

      1. Cynthia McCuen

NO!!! Every time they feel the need to remake classics to apply their WOKE mindset it ruins everything!!! Maybe they ought to use their imagination and come up with something new and leave the classics alone!!! And they e already redone the Wizard of Oz a couple of times!!!!

        1. Tom

N0 way you couldn’t get actors to be better than the originals

        2. Johnno

          What does woke mean?

4. Stephen

I will not be watching any remake of this classic movie.

      1. Allann

Leave it alone, it is perfect the way it is. Try doing something new and original.

      2. I completely agree with you

    5. Jeff J

I am not antiwoke, but this movie does NOT need to be remade.

    6. Joy

No! Come up with some new ideas for the love of God!

      1. Jtb

Nothing wrong with going woke!! Im waiting for a remake of black panther with a more diverse cast.

  1. Tammy

    No remake. Perfect as is.

    1. Denise

What does a remake take away from the original? Are you also afraid of new covers of old songs?

      1. Brad

Covers of original songs are not doing so with the intent of “fixing” a perceived wrong”. This is an apples/oranges comparison.

        1. Johnno

You make no sense. You don’t have to watch the movie btw.

        2. Joe

          Agreed!

          1. Joe

            Brad makes an excellent point.

      2. Wizard1626

I find a lot of covers of old songs to not be a good as the original. A few hit the mark, and a slim few are better. The redo of the sound of silence is one of them.

  2. Bob Ross

    N

    1. Ash

Sure. Remake this, too. Just be prepared for your version to plummet into the depths of disaster as far as ratings go. Yours will be the butt of jokes for ages to come. The original will shine on forever as one of the greatest ORIGINAL films ever created. Here’s an idea: come up with your own stories and stop remaking perfection.

      1. Jeff Hawthorn

        That was perfectly said!!!!

      2. Stavey

        AMEN! PERFECTLY SAID!

      3. Carla

        Well Said!

      4. Keely

        NOOOOOO!! Cannot improve perfection!

      5. A

THE 3 BEST Christmas classics are Miracle on 34th Street, that best out It Happened On 5th Avenue to take the Oscar and Its A Wonderful Life. People don’t have an imagination anymore because children are no longer allowed to use their imaginations. So those children who grew up with helicopter parents have no clue had how to imagine anything. LEAVE THE CLASSICS ALONE! Your remake will be like all the other remakes that try to go woke, it will go broke.

      6. Stacy

        👏 👏

        1. Stacy

Stop messing with the classics. Create your own stories, shows and movies. End of story!!

    2. MikeB

Just a matter of time until the woke mob has to crap over this movie

    3. Yolanda

      NO! NO! NO!

  3. Kathleen

Noooooooo. Sometimes it’s better to leave well enough alone.

    1. Tracy

No… It’s a Wonderful Life should NOT be remade. Doesn’t anyone in Hollywood have any original ideas anymore?? Wizard of Oz shouldn’t be remade, either. Classics like this should be left “as is”.

      1. Carla

        Perfectly said!!!

      2. Nero

Wizard of Oz was already remade at least once. *le sigh*

    2. Russell fisher

REMAKES ARE NEVER AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL!!!!!!!!!! Example: West Side Story

      1. Nero

Exactly. Romeo and Juliet was perfect as is.

    3. Richard

      Absolutely no!

  4. Dann

If Disney is involved, you know it will be cr@p.

    1. Gregg

Exactly! Everything they get involved with lately turns to crap.

  5. AW

Remakes are the lack of original thought. If you can’t create something of your own, then you’re lazy and a thief, not a filmmaker.
    Leave the classics alone.
Maybe educate yourself on why Capra came home from WW2 and made this film and stop yourself from dishonoring him.

    1. Anne

      Absolutely!

    2. Wizard1626

I find a lot of covers of old songs to not be a good as the original. A few hit the mark, and a slim few are better. The redo of the sound of silence is one of them.

  6. Nick

I do not plan on watching it, hope it flops!

  7. Frank

They should call the remake “It’s a Woke Life” since Disney is doing it. They will ruin it.

  8. Robert Miranda

Ok, so you want to be more INCLUSIVE. I think the should remake Ali and for Mark Wahlberg to play the lead role. Also, Robert Downey Jr should play Dr. Martin Luther King and Matthew McConaughey should play Eddie Murphy in Coming To America. You want to be INCLUSIVE? Let’s be INCLUSIVE!

    1. Aaron

      Good point!

    2. Becky

      Really!!!
Why does everything have to be remade!!
How about come up with a new film on your on and stop with the redos!

      1. This will fail just like the rest of Disney’s remakes! Evidently, Disney hasn’t learned its lesson.

      2. Fred marple

Or how about they actually just treat it as a theatrical performance as a performance group that paid for the rights and perform the exact movie script with similar actors just with modern audio and video production….nah nobody wants to spend the money on that.

no they rather butcher a classic.

    3. Beth

That’s a little over the top. You shouldn’t change the race of a real person. That would really be disrespectful. That would make us no better than the Woke people anyway.

    4. Gregg

      Love this!

    5. Nero

there’s a HUGE difference between changing the race of a fictional character and an actual human being.

I do wish to see your reaction when Jesus is portrayed as a poor, gay black man. At that point, we’ll get to see if you believe he was a real person or a construct of myth and hyperbole.

      1. Dodger

That actually sounds like an interesting premise for a movie I’d absolutely see. As it is, the majority of movies about Jesus are based on myth and not legitimate history anyway.

    6. JG

you are spot on with this comment! Watch them get offended if things were turned around.

    7. Stacy

👏👏 and any show or movie with an all black cast should be remade to be more inclusive as well, for all races.
      It’s only fair

  9. Tammie

    No! Please don’t mess up.perfection!

    1. Lorie

Absolutely not! This movie is WONDERFUL just the way it is. The remakes are always the worst! How about trying to think up something original for a change.

  10. Jonas

Remakes are proof of lack of original ideas. Hollywood has run out of good ideas and now just wants to shove PC and CGI down our throats instead.
Thankfully we still have the originals to watch.

  11. ROBIN

    No, 1000 times Noooooo!!!!

  12. Mary

DEFINITELY NOT!! IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE CHANGED AT ALL!!! LEAPVE OUR BELOVED MOVIES ALONE!!! MOST REMAKES ONLY DESTROY THE ORIGINAL MOVIES AND MAKE PEOPLE HATE THEM!!!!

    1. Earleen

No remake! I am sick of Hollywood! I buy old movies made when Hollywood had some conscience and movies made by independent conservative, non-woke groups.

  13. Robin A Johnston

    No…..no no Never!!!

    1. Naomi

Lol. Do you think anyone will listen that every single comment says no thank you to a remake? It could never be better. Think of something new that is heartwarming and relatable instead…give us all some hope.

  14. Tammy

I agree with the comments on no original movies anymore. I like the idea of a modern version but why can’t they come up with new ideas anymore. Seems like they are always remaking a movie.

    1. I can see this movie doing as good as the movie the “HONEYMOONERS!” I’d really like to see Jim Carey play Duke Ellington or Sachmo in a classic remake of a classical black movie.

  15. Teresa

NOOOOOO. I am just going to pretend I never heard about this and keep watching the original every Christmas Eve. Making it “inclusive” also means they’ll remove every reference to God, remake every scene of WW2 into a lecture about climate change, make the angels into gurus or something, and make George Bailey have a trans daughter.

  16. Rose

No this is the one movie that needs to be left alone. If a remake is made I will not watch it and I’ll be very disappointed and upset.😡😡😡😡😡

  17. Bobbi Foster

No. It’s fine the way it is.

  18. Doug

It appears Disney has learned very little from their previous woke disasters. They should team up with Bud Light. Both of those movies (It’s a Wonderful Life and the Wizard of Oz) are classics and 2 of my favorites. I will not be watching either of the remade productions.

    1. Cora

Definitely not! NO! You cannot change anything to improve this movie! How about coming up with an original instead of trying to recreate? Yes their maid was black, that was a sign of the times… Stop trying to erase history. This movie was perfect!!

  19. Michael

KEEP YOUR WOKE INFESTED PAWS OFF THIS MOVIE

    1. Aaron

      Right!!

  20. Carl Bass

NO !!!!! it’s a Wonderful Life is a Hollywood Classic, & Can NEVER be Remade !!!! When Keano Reeves was in the Remake of, “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” & it SUCKED 😞!!!!! Leave PERFECTION ALONE !!!!

    1. Kaye

What was “unsavory” about the maid’s character? Obviously those who believe that, feel her job was so demeaning…not.
The Broadway play Hamilton was about a real person yet portrayed exclusively by blacks.
Remake a classic NO! It was about people not race…knock it off!!

  21. Mary Ortiz

No! There are reasons why it is a classic and does need to be revamped! Leave it alone. Not everything needs changed, just like not everyone needs a participation award.

  22. Anna

Absolutely NOT!! This movie is fantastic ‘
“As Is” not everything needs to be politically correct!😡

  23. Larrylizard

    This is just sad!
I will be watching the classics, they can keep their remakes.

  24. Aaron

NO. Leave the virtue signaling and woke crap out of great legendary Christmas films!
    NO. NO. NO.

  25. James Jones

Good heavens, no. As for The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz already exists.

    1. RB Baker

As someone who lives in the real life hometown of Jimmy Stewart “It’s a Wonderful Life” that also hosts an annual parade around this theme and movie it puts me on edge because it the OG is so great. There have been plenty of reboots with the same theme not taking the title. I can however see the inclusion it would make if it is remade. As a blended family I would love to see this.
So with an open mind and in the spirit of Christmas and what this movie embodies: hope, love, charity, compassion, etc… I will wait.

  26. Kenneth Quarles

Absolutely no remakes. Not of Its a wonderful life or of the wizard of oz. Stop rebooting and remaking everything. Come up with new ideas.

  27. Ken

No remake of Its a wonderful life

  28. Jose

No leave it alone haven’t you people learn, I would never ever go see it the remake, I curse it

    1. Joy

NO it’s a Classic that should be left as “the one and only” here’s an idea, how about creating an ORIGINAL movie. Not everything has to be remade to address racial inequalities. Of course, it’s very real but you would best serve the public with an original idea.

  29. Thomas

Geez, can’t come up with an original idea so people HAVE to mess with something that’s perfect the way it is. What an absolute crock!

  30. Derek

No thanks. I’ll stick with the original…

  31. Colleen

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Classics are classic for a reason. It is perfect as it is. Absolutely “no” to a remake.

  32. D

Nooooo, leave it as is. The remake of Wizard Of Oz was a fail.

  33. Me

Why? We honestly don’t need a remake of this movie.

  34. Nope

No by anyone. But Disney has become awful and pathetic. That they even consider this is another in your face fingers that is sadly, there business as usual.

  35. Missy

Why?? So they can ruin yet another classic movie?

  36. P.C.Knott

I cannot understand why some people feel it necessary to take a previously made movie, successful or not, and turn it into a PC motivated remake. If you have the creativity, take your ideas and make something completely new. Don’t wreck a classic like this, just cuz your opinions differ from it.

  37. Jeremy

Absolutely not! What is up with wanting to make “color”ized versions of all the great classics? You don’t benefit anyone by remaking a movie and change the main character as a person of color. You defame both. Most view the remake as as pity towards people of color. As if they can’t make a great movie on their own. Besides the fact that it is sad that Hollywood has ran out of ideas or motivation that they have to resort to remaking old classics which are rarely as good as the originals.

  38. Stavey

LEAVE THIS MOVIE ALONE! SO SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE NOT BEING ABLE TO COME UP WITH ORIGINAL SCREEN PLAYS! 😡

  39. Munimula

Absolutely and unequivocally NOT. Stop ruining and changing a masterpiece. You cannot extract all the elements of the times it was created and have the same meaning. Please stop.

  40. Beth

I noticed there is not ONE SINGLE positive comment on here about the remake. I hope Disney actually pays attention to this and cancels their plans!

  41. Cecil

Stop giving Disney your money and support.

  42. Tina

Don’t do it!! It’s a classic and perfect just like it is!!!

  43. Chrys

Absolutely NOT! You don’t mess with perfection. The reason you want to remake is because you’re not creative enough to come up with an original idea. Try doing THAT for a change.

  44. Tommy

No. Hollywood would ruin a great movie

  45. Blobbermouth

    Absolutely not

  46. Sigh…

This film is making a statement that is timeless. While it may seem “dated”, the themes this film includes are not. The portrayals are not, the dialogue is not…except the lack of expletives (thankfully).

No remake can match the power of the message this film conveys.

Inclusive? How will that improve anything, make this story better? Please explain how having black, Latino, Asian, gay, trans characters will add anything meaningful to the story.

  47. Tamny

Being from Jimmy Stewarts hometown of Indiana PA, this is a part of our history, so to speak. It’s the theme of our Holiday season! The JS museum plays all his movies, this one included. I’m going to venture a guess that NO ONE, POC included want to see a remake simply because some director wants it!
The answer is NO! BUT, I’m going to make sure I share this with our local media!

  48. What are they nuts you can’t improve perfection bottom line

  49. Kira

    NO!!!! Leave it alone!!!!!

  50. Janine

No on either. Let classics be just that!!

  51. Kimsey Lewis

    Leave it alone

  52. Walt

Yup – keep destroying American culture and the Jude-Chrisitian philosophies that have made western civilization superior to all previous civilizations. Burn it all down. Maybe they can get the witchdoctor who spit in the face of the world elites at the World Economic Forum to play Clarence.

    1. John

Too bad this idea triggers right wingers politically. Hollywood remakes classics all the time. Who cares if it’s made from a different perspective, don’t watch if you have a problem with ‘ woke ‘ ( whatever that means) . Most remakes fail but like a good cover of a classic song, sometimes it’s fun and enjoyable to see/hear another perspective of an old favorite

    2. Stevie

This comment does not help the argument to leave this film alone, there is no superior class in this film and you thinking there is misses the whole point of the story

  53. John Stagliano

No. Leave old movies alone. This is a classic. Let it stay that way.

  54. Laurie

They made a remake staring Marlo Thomas. No one remembers it because it wasn’t as good as the original.

  55. Owen

    NO!!!!!!!!!!

The movie is awesome. Making it “new” would make a different movie with the original title.

Why not make a movie titled Pearl Harbor and not included bombs and killing?

  56. Chris B

Absolutely pathetic. How much more of this BS do us common sense people have to deal with? All the wokies on here trying their best to hype it up but they failed as usual. One stooge comparing making an inclusive IAWL to cover songs. Theres nothing wrong with cover songs because the ones that cover a song arent making the song woke they keep it original but with a different sound.

  57. NevT10190895

Please don’t do this. It’s a BAD Idea. Even if you didn’t I clue the minority cast. It would still be awful. Just do your own thing! Please 🙏 Don’t do this. It not gonna help the cause or anything! It’s just gonna drive people more Woke-crazed then they already are. It’s a Wonderful Life is a American classic, the best of American cinema. This adds nothing. Every race, gender, age, and creed can Identify with its story. And Unites people in the Christmas Spirit. This is just a cash grab, uninspired, and harmful to minority communities by promoting a movie simply based of its inclusive cast, when it is uninspired shock. Don’t do this please. Show someone from Paramount this comment section please.

  58. Walter

They did a remake in the 70’s with a female lead, Marlo Thomas. It was called “It Happened One Christmas”. While it wasn’t a bad movie, it certainly did not become a classic and did not “improve” the original. I just don’t see any need change, update or remake the classics. If they want to use the same premise and create a new movie, different name, location, etc., go ahead but let’s stop “remaking” movies.

  59. How can you improve on perfection? Annie was not a stereotype. A large contingent of black women were domestic help at that time. That is history. LEAVE IT ALONE!

    1. Stevie

      👍

  60. Bridget

The remake will be woke leftist propaganda

    1. Joy

I have news for you. I am a little left of center, don’t really know what WOKE means anymore because I think it has morphed into something different and annoying. But as a progressive left leaning person I say NO do not remake this movie. I don’t think one’s political leanings come into play here as some would, wrongfully, suggest.

  61. Mark

Absolutely no to a remake of this classic movie. It is a piece of American history that should be left alone.

  62. Disney are becoming expert in forcing their woke, inclusive agenda on everything and making expensive flops. The same workers that decided Johnny Depp was a villain BEFORE a court decided he was not. To call Disney woke is wrong, they are powerful thought fascists.

  63. Mason

Modern remake sounds like a code word for woke version

  64. Chris

TERRIBLE IDEA. DONT MESS WITH THE BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIMES. I WILL NEVER GO TO SEE A REMAKE. This is like when they remade MIRACLE ON 34th street, twice. Both were horrible.
Not everything needs updating to modern, crass, ignorant standards. JUST DONT DO IT!!

  65. Ken

This is not creativity, it’s a gimmick. It’s an attempt to appropriate the excellence of others in order to project their success onto themselves.
Marlo Thomas did a remake with her as a female George Bailey. Remember that? Didn’t think so. This version will likely flop as well.

  66. Veronica

    NO!

  67. Charlie

Absolutely NOT!!! There’s no remaking this. Go use your brains and make a new script and use it for inspiration but that’s it.

  68. Lynne Nolte

It’s already been remade once, with Marlo Thomas as the lead. It was called It Happened One Christmas.

    1. Stephen

That’s right! I’d forgotten about that. The (original) finale of Dallas was sort of the anti-IaWL, with JR seeing how better of everyone would be without him.

  69. Stevie

No way , this is a classic that should not be touched ,like “To Kill a Mockingbird”,12Angry Men”they don’t need the woke touch , leave them alone

  70. Sherry

No. I think it’s perfect just the way it is. Don’t mess with perfection. Leave it alone.

  71. Deb

    Nooooooooo. Don’t spoil a classic

  72. Michael

    WHY?

  73. Killthemmall

Let them remake it. May it be a woketarded multicultural multi pronoun abomination, then everyone who is still human go to the premier and kill every woketarded sub human in the theature. Then burn the theature to the ground.

  74. Killthemmall

Let them remake it. May it be a woketarded multicultural multi pronoun abomination, then everyone who is still human go to the premier and kill every woketarded sub human in the theature. Then burn the theature to the ground.

  75. Valerie

If this movie was so great why redo it! Use your creative mind, come up with new ideas, stop rehashing, old movies. Getting so tired of remakes. Hollywood no longer has any creative geniuses because all you can do is remake old movies

  76. Robert B

Sometimes a company can get away with a remake and make things better. For example, Angels in the outfield. I felt that the old one was rather slow and not quite as entertaining as the newer version with Christopher Lloyd.

However, in this case with It’s A Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, it’s good as it is! To me, there are no flaws! I would just leave it as it is.

  77. Yamaly

    The heck NO

  78. Sarah

No, it doesn’t need an update it is perfect the way it is
It is lazy and insulting to the audience

  79. The original is perfect. A remake would not add anything worth seeing.

  80. Theophilus

    More cultural appropriation by blacks.
    Just stop it please.

  81. John

Make something new, rather than remake something done right the first time.

  82. Melinda

    No no no! Alexis thought

  83. Russ

    No,no,no!!

  84. PootyPootwell

Omg, can we please PLEASE, stop with this crap??? And remaking Wizard of Oz to take place in a ghetto apartment? Just STOP.

  85. Connie

NO! Absolutely NO! Be creative and make your own movies!

  86. Mike

Are you all too ignorant or simply self serving enough to grasp that only you want to “woke” up everything you can? How much more money will you loose before getting a clue? Leave the damn movie alone, it is NOT broken and does not need fixed by the likes of you!

  87. Sharon

    No

  88. Nanee

No leave it alone. I love this movie and can’t wait for it each year to come on

  89. Hugh

    No, stop with the remakes!!!

  90. VincentG

No. If the idea is to have a Christmas movie around a POC, why rehash an old idea? I’d prefer an original movie with the original idea to give a new generation a fresh movie of their own.

  91. Plynn

NO, It’s a Wonderdul Life is a One and Done movie! Be original and write a new movie maybe same concept but with a current societal theme..

  92. Shirley

Do not remake this classic!!! It would be a total waste of time and money.

  93. Randy

I am waiting for the remake of Selma with a white man playing MLK

  94. Loretta

For the love of everything Holy and sweet baby Jesus, please do not. We do not need to ruin this movie with wokeism. I wish people would leave great masterpieces alone. For the love of God please let this not come to pass. This is the mountain I will die on.

  95. D

Just tired of this. Have to make every movie again. Come up with new ideas. This movie is perfect. LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!

  96. Marion

    NNNNNOOOOOOO…… leave it alone!!!!

  97. No, is a great movie. Don’t ruin it.

  98. Eric

We don’t need a damn remake. Leave the movie alone.

  99. Vic

Nope. Don’t touch it. Put your time and talents toward an original idea that can become its own classic.
    NOPE NOPE NOPE

  100. Jay

Yes. It needs woke updating. George Bailey should be played by a black female dwarf.

  101. M.

I have dreaded this day since they started carting out all these unnecessary remakes. This is my one my favorite movies of all time, beautifully done, superbly acted, and should not be violated this way. People need to get it through their heads movies reflect the times they were made in. We cannot and should not try to go back and “fix” every problematic moment, real or imagined. Nor should we chuck a classic film with obvious merits to the curb simply because it does not fit an “inclusive” ideal. Sigh. I know my rant won’t change minds made up, but geez. All I can say is good luck finding anyone that can match this cast, particularly the one-of-a-kind James Stewart. Cannot be done.

  102. Chancho

Another woke 💩 remake. It will flop gloriously 😜

  103. Cindy

Leave it alone. They tried remaking “The Bishops Wife” with poc and that didn’t work even though they had Denzel Washington. “It’s a Wonderful Life” is one of my favorites.

  104. Kat

    NO!!!!!!!
Leave it alone, it’s perfect as is!!
Stick your claws in something else.

  105. Absolutely NO!!! Leave this movie alone . It doesn’t need a remake

    1. Monique

Wasting money on tripe whilst people starve… Hmm. Please tell me again how WOKE you are…

  106. Hedy

    Absolutely not.

  107. Donna

No, do not do a remake! This is a classic the way it is, and some things should just be left the way it is. This movie as it was made, is one of them.

  108. Christine Brihn

    WHY!

  109. RickTR

De Wizrd ub Oz should take place in a recently closed Walgreens store that has been looted several times. Send that to Oz.

  110. Marie

Leave it ALONE. DO SOMETHING ORIGINAL.

  111. Jeffie

Please leave this movie alone. It is a classic, flawed maybe but a classic. Same with the Wizard of OZ. Please do some original movies and don’t mess the the classics. If you do, they will bomb at the box office

  112. Beth

Some movies can not be remade and Its A Wonderful Life is one of them.
Jimmy Stewart will always be George and Donna Reed will always be Mary and so on.

  113. Tracy

Not interested….leave the classics alone. Is Hollywood so unimaginative that they have to keep “remaking” stories already told!! This is a waste of money and time.

  114. Colleen

Master works of film or art cannot be recreated! Leave it alone and create your own master work.

  115. Megr

The 13% have not an own culture. That’s why they want to destroy ours.

Let this woke POS bomb, guys.

  116. Go for it! The only people of color in the original was the housekeeper- it does not change the original to have another perspective.

  117. Jason

Firstly, No No No. This is one of the most perfect movies ever made. But the concept of being given the opportunity to see your world as if you had never existed in it is one that could be re-used – and already has been in Shrek 4 🙂 So, maybe they could make a film that explores a similar experience for people of colour (not represented in the 1946 film, but please don’t market it as as remake or sequel to _It’s a Wonderful Life_ and don’t ‘cancel’ or dismiss the 1946 film. It’s a cinematic masterpiece with a witty script and incredibly moving performances from stars that have since become Legends – and its politics were incredibly progressive for its time.

  118. CB

Instead of remaking old movies how about use your imagination and come up with something new. This is a fail in the making.

  119. RT

Some things need to be valued and respected. Tolerance, respect is not the tone that resonates, with the announcement the movies are being remade for “wokeness”.
“WOKE” appears to mean disrespect. Woke is an excuse to remake it / redo just so you can pretend to foster “woke”
If the meaning and the values of the movies are lost because the ethnicity of the actors, then there is a serious problem with the viewer and director/producer.
In the environment of “wokeness” when will “Thriller” be redone – recast out MJ, or “Raisin in the Sun” recast Sidney Poiter, “Color Purple” remade, all for “wokeness”.
Try practicing respect and tolerance. I know Redo “lassie” with a cat.
