  2. Steve

Many who previously voted for DeSantis have switched sides since he and his cronies have gotten into our pockets! Just a matter of time till both groups will be out of office!

  3. Deb

Oh 100% it should go back to reedy creek ,this man in charge now seems to be a joke

    1. Debra

100% agree! DeSantis is one of the two most vengeful people in our state. Let’s get them out!!!

      1. Diane

Absolutely reinstate the Reedy Creek District. DeSantis’s appointees are an embarrassment.

      2. 110% agree!

  4. Bev

Yes it should go back to Reedy Creek. I used to think DeSantis was great but not anymore.

    1. Ed

    1. EvaMarie Colla

100% agree with all the above comments. He needs to go!

  6. Linda A Abernathy

As a DVC Owner for many years, I totally agree to reinstate Disney’s Reedy Creek. While I am not a resident of Florida we have property interests at Disney and in Florida and we vacation almost every year. I was horrified about DeSantis’s attack on Disney. It is not that I did not understand the argument, I have grand children and great grand children and I want them growing up healthy. BUT DeSantis Over stepped.

    1. Dave frankino

      Go Disney

  7. Gary

Reedy Creek should 100% go back the way it was. The current Governor went down the rabbit hole in more ways than one. He needs to go. Vote him and his cronies out.

  8. Maria

Reedy Creek operated just fine for 57 years, until DeSantis got his feelings hurt and his knickers in a twist. Put it back the way it was.

  9. Suzette Brown

Governor DeSantis is a joke! Yes I agree that Reedy Creek should go back to its original status. I will say bullies never win at the end, the people of Florida see really what kind of person he is (dictator)!

    1. Brenda Flagg

This has been a mess made by our hateful governor. Disney is very important to all Florida. So far we have seen a lot of wasted spending. I am not proud of actions of our government under this leadership. It is time for people to speak up. Thanks to all for your sensible comments.

  10. Dude

The new district is dysfunctional and probably corrupt as all get out. They are padding their pockets at the taxpayers expense and doing nothing except racking up big legal bills. Bring back Reedy Creek and dump DeSantis.

  11. Sartasd

As a Floridian and a Disney Pass holder I’ve seen the difference. It was better when the Reedy creek was in control. I hate what the Republicans are doing. I’m not a Democrat and can see that the Republicans aren’t doing a good job. Politicians need to stay out of private business. Disney World has done a beautiful job of protecting the area around Disney World.

Reedy Creek can be re-established but how about they follow all of the rules and regulations like all of the other current special districts. No more special privileges just because they are Disney. Disney should be able to afford it. Look what they are charging for everything to visit the parks etc. They do not adjust for inflation, they adjust x5. Look at Disney stock and then honestly ask yourself if the way things have been mismanaged is the way forward. Disney charges more and you get less. Governor DeSantis is the best of the best. Protecting our children. Protecting the state of Florida. Unlike California where Disney is headquartered-all you Californians ready to pay for taking care of illegal immigrants. Everyone loves Mickey Mouse but at this point supporting the Disney company as a whole is a bit of a stretch. If proper management of the parks by Disney has been taking place they should be pristine and they are far from it. Talk about wasting money, Disney keeps pushing an agenda in everything they produce which has turned into a money pit. Stop looking and voting for things because of feelings. Use some common sense. Disney needs some adult supervision.

    1. Sandy

Are you a res resident of Florida? If you are you know that this all started because Mr Disantis got his feelings hurt. Then he started acting like a spoiled child. He has spent a lot of Floridas money, between Disney and his run for president. He will be even worse is he doesn’t win. He even changed the rules so if he didnt Win he could still be governor. Floridians are being used. He doesn’t care about all of us. And remember, you don’t have to go to Disney if you think it is to expensive. Go to Universal. Ron just gave them the same status he took from Disney.

    2. Al

You must have been paid to write these talking points. Or maybe it’s DeSantis himself or a representative regurgitating all this crap.

    3. Mo

You definitely can’t be from Florida or you are a Bot, your BS talking points mean nothing. Disney pays their share of taxes and is one of the main reasons Florida does not have a state income tax. Thank God for Capitalism, a company can regulate what they charge, so if you can’t afford to go or don’t want to go, then don’t go. You have other options, Universal, Seaworld, Busch Gardens. DeSantis has gone downhill and is a child who takes his ball and goes home if he doesn’t get his way. Definitely not a good leader. He got his feelings hurt and pulled this BS on Disney. Get out of the private lives of Florida residents and businesses. What has happened to the Grand Ole Party, the party of small government. They are up everyone’s asses now, even Mickey Mouse.

    4. Diane

OMG, you say quite “ like all of the other current special districts“ do your homework! Did he attack The Villages? NO, because they are big republican supporters. Check what they donated to his campaign! How about he give Reedy Creek back and go after the grocery chain PUBLICs, their also a big republican supporter and their prices are double ! He should help Florida residents that affect everyone of us! This is a tourist state and taking that cash away from us affects us all! We don’t need dictatorship!

  13. Carol Halter

It’s about time! Yeah! Disney was doing a great job, why change?

    1. Finally DeSantis picked on a worthy opponent. There was no need for him to even begin such a battle but I must say I’m greatful that he chose to show the entire country just how much of a bully he is and will continue to be. Cant imagine giving him more power
My goodness nothing speaks political suicide quite like picking an unnecessary battle with Disney on the eve of an election year.

  14. Mia Saint

Absolutely! Desantis didn’t like being disagreed with and was basically retaliating.
Once and for all this should be put to rest by the GOP. This would help them in coming elections by denying Desantis’ bullying tactics and reinstate our faith in them. Otherwise, prepare for a bloodbath in the coming elections. We will NOT stand for anymore of this &&!?!@!

  15. Dave frankino

    Go Disney

    1. Brenda Flagg

      Go Disney

  16. Get rid of DeSantis put Disney back the way it was before DeSantis interfered because he didn’t like what Disney said put reedy Creek back too

  17. Tim

100% it should go back to Reedy Creek. DeSantis had absolutely no reason to take the actions that he did, it was pure retaliation and spite. He is too thin skinned and couldn’t handle the fact that Disney spoke out against him and his Don’t Say Gay bill. DeSantis is a bitter man, a lousy governor, and I can’t wait for his term to end.

    1. As a Floridian, I say, Wrong Deathsantotos needs to go and take his full pockets and thin skin with him. Reedy Creek Must come back. Disney is Great for our State and America. Can’t say that about the former. Book banning anyone???

  18. RUCHA

I absolutely disagree. There should be State Government Oversite from Elected Officials and not a large company that is obviously not listening to many that were previously supportive customers.

    1. Anon E Mous

Disney deserves no more perks than Universal, Sea World, Gatorland, etc.

      1. Steven

Guess what! Now Universal got its very own special district. So now if RCID comes back, everybody will be on an even playing field exactly like you are suggesting! Awesome!

    2. Denise

What kind of oversight? They pay their taxes just like any other business. They’re rides aren’t inspected by the state, just like the other large parks (Universal).

What, exactly, were they doing wrong, other than disagreeing with the governor? Please be specific.

  19. Pocho Villa

Thank you Ron DeSantis for dissolving racist Seedy Creek that never awarded district contracts to local Latino and Black businesses but to only White owned businesses, which was exposed in the recent report commissioned by CFTOD.

  20. P.C.Knott

    There’s a saying….If ain’t broke, don’t try and fix it.
DeSantis was right in taking away Disney’s special “government” so they would be equal to how other parks had to operate under state law. However, DeSantis screwed the pooch when he continued to go after Disney in other ways (threatening prisons, state inspections to transportation, health and food violations, what Disney builds and how they build). This made it personal for DeSantis.
Let Disney run their own. They’ve been doing it for a lot longer than Florida.

    1. Steven

You’re contradicting yourself, friend. You recommended to let Disney run itself, but then say that it was right to take that privilege away. Then you want to level the playing field, yet Universal just received special district privileges.

So what exactly are you supporting, so that we understand clearly?

  21. Z

Extreme leadership from either party is detrimental to a free society. Desantis sit down with Disney to renegotiate the contract if it was truly egregious to Florida. Dissolve the board and return to Reedy Creek until then.

    1. Steven

That would be such a reasonable approach!

  22. Robert

I am of the opinion that “DeSanctimonius” is the ringleader of a criminal enterprise, using his position as Governor to enrich himself and his cronies at the expense of the Florida Taxpayers. His actions mark him as deliberately uncaring to those he purports to represent.

  23. Rande

It should be dissolved..never should of had all that power. Disney is wickedly promoting negative values, against tax payers expense. (Or the lack of paying taxes).

This is such a one-sided outlet, which deliberately feed people of the same points of views, thus making the group believe their points of views are all correct.

  24. Kaitain

Hey pixie dusters. This bill isn’t passing. Best of luck with your endeavor.

    1. Steven

We’ll continue the endeavor to fight against big government, defend capitalism again government ownership, and protect this assault onfreedom of speech.

I’m so very sorry that you don’t care about those things, because they are what makes our country great!

  25. Anon E Mous

    Obviously a Pro-Disney site.
Reddy Creek should have phased out decades ago.
It gives Disney perks that none of the competitors have.

    1. Steven

Except for Universal. You know, the one that DeSantis awarded special district privileges to.

      1. Ryan

Not even close to what RCID was, but you knew that.

  26. Steve

Desantis but off more than he could chew fighting Disney. They have done just fine and produced multitudes of jobs and an influx of money to central and really ALL of Florida for decades without him and his bully buddies dipping into their cookie jar. He just finally picked on someone with the money and means to fight back. Let Disney be Disney and leave his corrupt, do nothing over-crap board out of it.

  27. Darryl Walker

It shouldn’t have been dissolved in the first place. The old adage was if it ain’t broke don’t fix it applies here

  28. Zilma A Osle

I agree 100%. Disney isn’t perfect but, they were doing a very good job for over 50 years with making sure things were cleaned, maintained (more or less) good, the quality of the food was good, the cast members were happier, etc. Since the bully of DeSantis took over (from what I’ve read) a lot of stuff has become unaffordable, crappy, etc. To tell the cast members that they now have to pay for park tickets, that their salaries will be cut, etc, is horrible. Make Reedy Creek come back please.

  29. Denis

  30. JT

Absolutely reinstate Reedy Creek! It’s time for DeSantis’s political posturing and games to come to an end.

  31. Ryan

Lots of clueless people wishcasting here.

RCID was dissolved by law enacted by the FL legislature and signed by DeSantis.

The orange county libs have no power here.

  32. Pamela Eatherton

Yes if it isnt broke don’t fix it show DeSantis Florida is in charge

  33. Latrice hardy

DeSantis is a crybaby and a pugnacious political pig. What he has done to Florida these past few years. Nevermind his personal crusade against, Disney for political clout, is disgusting. Disney should win all law suits.

  34. Barbara

100% agree Reedy Creek should be reinstated! What happened should never have taken place!! Florida is lucky to have Disney here and the creation of Reedy Creek was a blessing to the area!
