You can enter a line 10 minutes early with a DAS just like you can with a Lightning Lane. If he knew the park was closing at 11 and the time seemed odd, he should’ve asked a cast member. And they can’t just automatically reassign you a time to ride a broken ride because they don’t know how long it will take to fix the issue. What Disney does need with their DAS is a better way for people who can’t stand in line at all to access the rides, like Universal has.
