The man is egotistical and will lose to Disney and will never become president of the USA also all his Republican cronies will be voted out of office in 2024

    1. Ester

DeSanti will win because he is doing a good job!

      1. Jeffey

I disagree…Any man/person who wants to o control Mickey Mouse does not get my vote. Disney Land have been running Disney for the people/ children.
        And done a great job.
Anyone who dislikes Mickey Mouse will never get my vote!

      2. Dodger

“DeSanti” might be doing a good job, whoever that is, but DeSantis sure isn’t!

        1. William

DeSantis is more worried about him becoming president than the people of his state. He will lose… He is a stain on our state.

          1. Greg

The only stain you see is the one on your underwear!

      3. Mona

        Where?

      4. Denise

What job has he done that is GOOD?

      5. Karen Titshaw

A good job if this was Russia

      6. rose

No for everyone. What about the bill he signed that allowed insurance companies to raise their rates? My home insurance has gone up more than twice what I paid3 years ago! Auto insurance also has risen in paying almost twice the amount I paid4 years ago!

    2. Says a far left perverted woke liberal who voted for a demented, money laundering, serial liar and
      Crooked President.

      1. Karen Titshaw

You don’t even know the meaning of ‘woke’. Bet you don’t even know where desantis first heard the word ‘woke’. An Obama speach

      2. Dodger

Nah, I doubt it. A far-left woke liberal would never vote for Trvmp.

      3. CJA

Evidence of this rant? From reliable, verifiable sources, please. That discounts any Murdoch owned media, OAN, QAnon, Chan8, NewsMax, Alex Jones, Brietbart (and Steve Bannon) Gateway Parler and the voices in your head.

    3. Olaf59

      Fingers crossed! 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Disney will win this and be restored with what it had from the very beginning. The Governor should have left Disney alone. They have every right to speak out against laws that they feel is unfair and unconstitutional. It will be just a matter of time before this case is in front of a judge to have Disney declared the winner.
They are the state’s largest single site employer that brings in millions to the Florida economy, you don’t mess with a company like that which has been good to the entire state, not to mention all of the second and third outside jobs that this company has created being in the state.

    1. Walt

Actually if you will remember CORRECTLY Disney started this by sounding off INCORRECTLY about the law that prevented ANY teacher from discussing their sexual proclivities with children. The INCORRECTLY labeled don’t say gay bill. So I am glad this entire board feels that it is entirely appropriate for a company based on family entertainment to be discussing their sexual desires with children. Shows the mental state of the remainder of Disney’s fans. Those of us who want to allow children to grow up free of this sexual pandering have left Disney fandom long ago. Just one more example of how the left has to destroy everything that is right and good – even childhood.

      1. Ariel Perez

Walt I understand you point,I don’t agree with what Disney is doing about sexual orientation even with it’s movies but what Desantis did about it it’s call retaliation(egotistic retaliation) and it’s unacceptable that he’s using his powers for that, against Florida’s interest.

        1. Jlgv

          What?

      2. Dodger

Actually, if you will remember CORRECTLY, nowhere in the bill is there a statement that uses the words “teachers…discussing their sexual proclivities with children.” This exact wording is nowhere to be found. So what you’re essentially doing is interpreting the bill to mean what YOU think it means, in much the same way the “Don’t say gay” crowd did. The hypocrisy runs deep.

      3. Chris

I don’t necessarily disagree with many of your points, BUT they were free to express their opinions without retaliation under the first amendment. If we only apply freedom of speech to those we agree with, then there is no such thing as freedom of speech and you will eventually be censored too.

      4. Ethel Mertiz

OMG…another conservative hysteric! No one is discussing “their sexual proclivities with children” in schools. Before you start throwing yourself into a nervous breakdown try to educate yourselves about what really happens in classrooms across Florida and the nation. Teachers don’t discuss their personal lives with their students…they don’t have time between teaching to the test requirements put jn olace by conservatives during the JEB Bush administration and just teaching basic reading, writing, and arithmetic. And don’t forget sports programs and, oh, the increased work hours that the Florida Republican dominated legislature has introduced this week.

      5. Kat

The law wasn’t about teachers’ sexual “proclivities”. It’s about teaching the kids about sexual orientation. However, it is worded so that teachers are afraid to be able to counsel kids who are identifying as LGBTQ+, even when those kids don’t feel safe talking to their parents. No teacher talks to their kids about their sex lives.

        1. Karen Titshaw

The bill was blocked from stomping on peoples rights

      6. Karen Titshaw

Thank you for your post. I appreciate what people can stand up and admit that they feel they made a bad decision. It is a brave thing to do and takes courage. Again, thank you.

      7. Jim Mangie

Jim, His poorly presidential bid shows how he is not fit to be in any office. His personal vendettas especially to small people shows another personality defect. After reading where he said they made mistakes in the presidential run shows a great immaturity. Definitely not presidential material.

      8. CJA

That also is fantasy. The Supreme Court with its Citizens United decision gave corporations the same freedom of speech rights as people — which means the government cannot impose punishment for expressing those thoughts. (Treats/lies not protected.) DeSantis needs a lesson.

    2. Pam

Everyone has a right to believe and say what they believe. DeSantis is doing that along with cutting down human beings which is not to me professional. Disney has done nothing wrong but help the people and state!

    3. Karen Titshaw

Disney does not bring in million. Disney alone in generated revenue for fl to tax per year 80 Billion

  3. David Kent

Hey Bugger Man. The Mouse has taken control of your brain.

    1. Ell

Hooray for Disney, I’m glad I don’t live in Florida. He’s such a horrible governor using people’s tax money for his personal vendetta what else has he wasted money on that don’t know about YET!! He’s acts like Napolean & we all know what happened to him!! JS…

  4. Nan

Sadly desantis wants his taxpayer to pay his legal fees. He already allotted $14M in his budget now he wants an additional $19M to pay his fees. I don’t agree with what he did why should we pay? He’s a horrible person. I’m sorry I moved to Florida 5 yrs ago.

    1. Karen Titshaw

$1,350.00 per hour per attorney was reported. And just like every other shady underhanded action desantis pulls, I bet his attorney is from his old law practice.

  5. Jo

Horray to Disney for this bit of good news. I just do not understand why more Floridians are not shocked by DeSantis’ actions and concerned that we have an overreaching Governor. AND that we are tolerating a man who takes over the governing board of a publically owned company because of a personal vendetta, who said in his own words that he is going after Disney because they are “trending our kids”. What a dumbass. Any other governors out there going after the largest employer in their state?

    1. Karen Titshaw

More people daily are re-registering independent and are posting on public forums their regret for voting for him

  6. Merrie Moye

DeSantis doesn’t have the best interest of Floridians in mind. His ego trip is costing us millions. Any legislator who supports him should be ousted.

  7. DisneyFan

Disney is a bully, it’s not Walt’s Disney anymore. It’s a political machine. This is not over

    1. Kay

Oh my my….Disney a political machine? What about DeSantis? He’s the ultimate political machine trying to punish a private global corporation and score political points with his stupid right wing base like yourself!

    2. Karen Titshaw

It might not be over but your opinion will have no effect on the outcome.

  8. Talmadge Wacker

I’m embarrassed to say I voted for DeSantis when he ran for Governor. I promise however to NEVER make that mistake again. We wanted a GOVERNOR, but we got a DICTATOR!! I hope his battle with Disney costs him any future elections.

    1. Karen Titshaw

Thank you for your post. I appreciate what people can stand up and admit that they feel they made a bad decision. It is a brave thing to do and takes courage. Again, thank you.

  9. Pocho Villa

If you believe Reedy Creek and Disney are the same, then Disney is guilty of controlling a government entity. Let’s repeat this, no corporation can own a government entity and vise versa such as a government owning corporations unless you are The CCP, Communist China who Bob Iger loves more than America. Not one person has given a legal example of the Florida Governor and Florida Legislature violating Walt Disney Company’s Free Speech rights. And again changing the Reedy Creek government to the CFTOD government is not a violation of Disney’s Free Speech Rights.

    1. Dodger

Reedy Creek and Disney are not the same, so your entire argument falls apart, no matter how many gratuitous capital letters you use. The state of Florida made it legal when they passed legislation in 1967 and for 56 years not a single person, in government or elsewhere, believed it was unlawful, unconstitutional, or even unorthodox, including DeSantis…until Disney got under his skin. Even though taking over the district is not a violation of free speech rights on its face, what you fail to realize is that doing it in retaliation for expressing an opposing opinion is something that can indeed be proven to be a violation of First Amendment rights. There’s even legal precedent for this, so Disney is on good legal footing here.

    2. Karen Titshaw

Go fact check yourself. When that agreement was created 50 plus years ago it was done so that Disney would run as a County, exactly how they did. Disney and the state of fl benefitted. Because of some of the fl benefit is why no state tax on earnings. Desantis got his panties in a wad when they spoke out on the bill he signed, which was blocked because it trampled people’s rights. Disney also stopped giving desantis money. Even though before that happened desantis thought Disney the greatest place on earth and so much so desantis got married at Disney. Now go fact check your self and you will find Disney is one of many that had the same type of agreement with the state of fl. Also, besides all the taxes Disney paid the state and locally, beside all the services Disney provided 2 counties in fl, water, emergency services, bridge & road work & repairs, etc… Disney alone generated over 80 BILLION in revenue for the state of fl to tax at difference rates.

  10. gmk2311

I don’t see the significance of the ruling.
DeSantis is not the first person to point out that Disney gets a huge tax break by governing itself. There have been complaints about this for decades.
In any other situation it would be called a conflict of interest on its face.
It just happens that DeSantis is the first one to actually do something about it.

    1. Kat

Then the government shouldn’t have just granted the same special district status to Universal for Epic Universe.

    2. Karen Titshaw

Do you know what that tax break is and why nothing has been done . Disney asked not to be taxed on services they provide people in 2 counties outside of Disney. Water, emergency services, road & bridge work, etc… now you know why nothing has been done. Do you consider this. Let’s ignore those and other services, let’s ignore the taxes Disney pays the state of fl and local tax, let’s ignore the money Disney puts out paying taxes that benefit others outside of Disney. Disney alone generates revenue over 80 Billion per year for fl to tax at different rates

  11. jodie

Governor DeSantis is a model for every state. Florida is a great place to visit, probably the best. Law abiding citizens have no problem with Florida laws. Disney has strayed from the path of great family entertainment. Hopefully they figure this out sooner than later. Stop the propaganda. Disney is not doing anyone favors. They have raised prices far beyond the crazy inflation that has been caused by Dem policy. How about Disney take a stand on open borders, crime etc. that we are all paying for instead of interfering in parent’s rights policy.

    1. Karen Titshaw

Too damn bad the murder rate in fl has increased. Not to mention the other untrue references you posted
